°•~Mabel is a selfish little spoilt girl~•°

Fera was done with the rest of her class for the day. She was walking toward the parking while thanking the god for not blowing up her cover. She was actually quite exhausted after taking all of Mabel's classes. NUA was a very heavy-working university which was quite opposite of Belmount. Fera was overwhelmed with the amount of assignment that she got today.
"So you're finally back?" Fera heard a high-pitched voice while she stopped to turn around to see who that voice belonged to.
She came face to face with a ginger hair girl who had freckles around her nose, on her pale skin. She was wearing rather dull clothes, contrasting her bright facial appearance. Though she looked like a sweet girl, the look in her eyes represented hostility.
Fera already knew who it was. Alice wasn't dumb enough to not show her the girl whom everyone hates. The girl whom everyone has labelled as a man stealer. Harper Michael, the two-faced bitch.
Although Fera was instructed to hate her, but she still couldn't bring herself to believe it. The girls standing in front of her looked too pure to purposely try to 'steal' Liam from Mabel when he wasn't even hers to begin with.
"Yeah, I had to. I can't be always sitting in my room thinking about things that I can't change. Moving on is important." Fera replied in a low tone. Harper furrowed her eyebrows while scrouching her nose.
"Since when have you started answering me instead of just shooing me away?" Harper asked.
"Since now and don't ask me why." Fera said while while moving her hands between her and Harper.
Harper's eyes were wide open when she heard what Fera said. She kept staring at her like she was inspecting her when Fera suddenly spoke, "It's rude to stare at someone who isn't actually very fond of you."
"I am just suprised that you are now trying to be the bigger person after embarrassing me in front of everyone in that party." Harper blurted. " You really made it look like it was my fault in front of everyone including Liam's parent."
Harper's voice was getting weaker with every word that she was saying and her eyes were becoming watery. The look on her face was definitely not fake. Anyone could easily tell that she was genuinely feeling hurt.
But her the hurting wasn't caused by humiliation. It was actually because of self-blaming.
One the annual party night, Nathan did spiked Mabel's drink which Harper drank and caused a ruckus. But it was not accidental at all. It was all intentional for her. Harper actually saw Nathan putting something in Mabel's drink and exchanged it with her.
Her intention wasn't to embarrass herself so much on that night. She just wanted to create a misunderstanding between Liam and Mabel so that they both won't talk to each other until hers and Liam's marriage was confirmed. But she had no idea that it would turn into an ugly fight between two best friends which would also cost her reputation.
She sure did bad but what she faced was even worse. Her now, probably-future in-laws didn't like her. Even though they didn't show it directly but she could feel it through their eyes. She had lost her only chance to impress Liam's parent because of her own deeds.
And if this was not enough, a footage got leaked from the party which showed her drunk-dance.
Now the whole Aétria was laughing at her. She had lost all of her chances to marry Liam, if he gets appointed as the new minister for his state.
Looking at her crying, Fera could only take her as a poor girl who got bullied. She would never think that what she is facing now is the repercussions of her own deeds.
She still felt bad for her. Having a whole country hate you for framing someone of spiking your drink still sounded like a greater punishment but she just remembered what Mabel said, "Never feel anything for anyone in this world because it is not yours." It sounded a bit cruel but somehow the only way in which she could survive in Aétria.
Fera blinked while remembering her whole conversation with Mabel and Alyce about Harper. Alyce seemed to really hate her but Mabel just considered her filthy being too smart for her own good. She told her everything she knew so Fera won't even try to make friends with Harper.
"I actually saw Nathan put something in my glass. I knew that he would try to pull something up at the party. I was also going to ignore it and drop the glass 'accidentally' when someone or rather a short little bitch drank it intentionally. "
"Of course I cleared my name and blamed it on her own carelessness but her boyfriend tried to take a stand for her against his own best friend.
Ahhh! I still hate the way he looked at me like he could bring me down in front of everyone."
"I couldn't just leave her without showing her the consequences of her actions."
Fera remembered those words escaping Mabel's mouth through the reflection of the hand mirror. "So that's why you leaked her drunk-dancing video to the tabloid." Fera still remembered her heart thumping at Mabel's next words.
"How could I leave the skills of such a refined dancer in the shadow. It deserves the limelight." Mabel said while smirking.
Fera felt stiff at her words. It seemed too cruel to her. A punishment like that for a failed attempt was just too much. She couldn't even imagine how bad Harper must've felt after that.
'She is soo evil just like those girls in the romance book. How could she just say it soo easily?
Who does she think she is?' Fera was having a lot of those thoughts in her head. Her mind was clouded with those words. All she could say was that 'Mabel is a selfish little spoilt brat'.
But now, when she saw Harper crying in front of her and wrongly accusing Mabel for something she didn't do, all of it weirdly felt right. She wasn't feeling bad for her, instead was quite satisfied with what Mabel did to her.
Harper was still yelling at her, accusing her of drugging her. Fera just couldn't watch her tarnishing Mabel reputation in front of everyone. So she stepped forward, trying to intimidate her while looking into her eyes with a stern look on her face. She said,
"It still amazes me how you simply don't get any idea about how much I don't want you to be around me. And even if you feel wronged, coming to me while screaming to my face won't get you any justice. It would only help you with releasing your frustration." Her eyes become more scarier as she continued speaking.
"However, frustration is the least thing one would care about if one feels wronged. Justice doesn't come from confronting the person who abused you. It comes from filing a case in the court." Fera said in a loud voice. Now everyone who were previously looking at them tried to move past them so they won't get caught in Mabel's wrath.
"Don't come to me if want to blame me for your own carelessness. Go inform the police if you can because if you won't then I will."
These words alone were enough for Harper to know that this was as far as she could go with her act. At first she thought that Mabel was finally putting her defense down and was going to mend things with her.
But she again put herself in a risky position where everything depended on whether Mabel wanted to send her to jail or not.
"Hey what's going on here?" someone asked the person standing in the front of the crowd.
"Liam's chick trying to get humiliated in front of the NUA by Mabel part 123. hehheeee!
I don't even know why she even tries it every other week. Doesn't she get tired by all this embarrassment?" he replied looking amused.
"I know right. I would shit myself before talking to Mabel like that."
Harper could hear everyone of these people. What they were saying did hurt her but could no longer say anything over the fact that this was actually all her fault. So she didn't even try to. She just tried to walk away from Mabel silently while closing her eyes.
