"I... I'm fine." Nathan quickly averted his gaze and wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. "Don't worry about it."
Ryley didn't want to push him too far and just nodded understandingly. "If you need help with anything, you can tell me." He said with a sincere smile.
"Thanks, Ryley..." Nathan returned his smile and continued eating the burger.
The two spent the long flight chatting like the good friends they were. As time went by, Ryley felt that he was finally able to make peace with the regretful and guilty feelings he had always tried to bury in the depth of his mind.
He might have not realized it, but his subconsciousness always longed for the baby he had to give up for Nathan to carry, and each time he realized that he was powerless against the situation that drove him to this point of no return, the blond couldn't help but blame himself for not being able to defy this fate.
