Rena's lips slightly dropped in shock when she heard the question. It came across rather unanticipated, she was thinking that maybe Ryley would ask her about funny things he did when he was still a child.
But this wasn't exactly the reason the calm air floating above her eyes to stagnate. The fact that she had to recall the bittersweet memories from the distant past after all these years... Rena couldn't help but let out a long sigh.
It had been more than twenty years since Ryley's birth. Her gaze stared at her own reflection inside the mirror, her gentle eyes dimmed as she moistened her lips and carefully picked out her words.
"Mom...?" Ryley called when he couldn't hear anything from the other side, making sure that Rena was still there.
The blond didn't know if his mother would buy the lie he had just casually told her, but most often she did, and Ryley was pretty confident that Rena wouldn't suspect anything strange from his excuse.
