Chapter 16 - Investigation!!

Back at the Belfry tower which was used as a hideout for the bat family. Robin was the first to speak. "Whoever did this had only one intention and it was ripping him to pieces" he said. "We need to find out who did it."

Batgirl nodded. "My guess is that it was Killer Croc. We know he's been causing trouble in this area lately."

"That's true," Robin said. "But something like this isn't his style. He usually goes for the more direct approach."

Batgirl frowned. "Then who else could it be?"

"I don't know," Robin said. "But we should start looking into it."

The two of them began to search for clues. They carefully combed through all the cameras near the area where it happened. Examining every inch for any evidence that could point them in the right direction. After a few minutes of searching they found nothing worthwhile.

Well that was a whole lot of nothing what the hell are we doing wrong. "I bet if it was Bruce he would have figured it out by now". Robin said too Batgirl clearly missing Bruce.

Dick I know you miss Bruce I do too but we got to do right by him and do our best to figure out what happened in that alleyway. "Bruce believed we could do it he said we had what it takes to protect Gotham, if he believed in us that means it was possible" Barbara said to dick clearly missing Bruce as well.

You're right he believed in us I can't just give up so easily. "There has to be some evidence we're overlooking". Dick replied to Barbara going right back into the evidence he's collected so far not willing to give up yet.

Barbara and Dick sat in the Belfry Tower, staring at the computer screen in front of them. They were looking for answers to the mysterious murder that had happened before in the alleyway. It had been a gruesome sight, the body had been ripped into pieces and there was no clue as to who had done it. The two crimefighters had been searching for any leads.

Dick sighed heavily, rubbing the bridge of his nose in frustration. "We're going nowhere with this, Barbara. We've gone through every clue and we still have nothing. I'm starting to think it's impossible."

Barbara shook her head. "No, we just need to keep looking. There must be something we're missing."

Dick groaned. "But what? We've been over this a million times!"

"I know, I know," Barbara said, her voice filled with compassion. "But if we give up now, we'll never solve this. It's too important."

They both sat in silence for a few moments, contemplating how far they had come and yet how much further they had to go. Finally, Dick spoke.

"If only Jason and Tim were here. They could help. They're so good at investigations."

Barbara nodded. "I know. But they're on their own mission right now. We'll just have to do our best without them."

Dick nodded, his face still troubled. "I guess so."

Barbara stood up and looked out the window at the night sky. "It will be okay, Dick. We'll figure this out. We just need to keep looking."

Dick smiled weakly. "I know. You're right."

Barbara turned back to the computer and refocused her attention to the monitor. She typed in a few more search terms and waited for the results to show up. But nothing came up.

"Let's keep going," she said, her voice determined.

The two of them worked through the night, searching for any clues they could find. They went through every file, every photo, every piece of evidence they could find. But there was very little to go on.

Finally, after hours of searching, Barbara leaned back in her chair and sighed. "I think that's it. We've looked through everything. There's nothing more we can do."

"Maybe we should call it a night," Dick said, his voice heavy with fatigue.

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea," Barbara said. She stood up and stretched her arms, her joints cracking as she did so. She looked out the window again, watching as the night slowly gave way to the morning. "We can start again tomorrow."

Dick nodded. "Yeah, maybe something will turn up then."

The two of them packed up their equipment and made their way down the stairs, heading back to their homes for the night. As they walked, Barbara couldn't help but feel a deep sense of frustration and helplessness. They had tried their best, but they were no closer to finding out who had committed the brutal murder.

Suddenly, a thought occurred to her. "Maybe Jason and Tim could help us."

Dick stopped in his tracks and looked at her, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "You think they'd be willing to help?"

Barbara smiled. "I think it's worth a shot."

"Let's call them in the morning," Dick said, a determined look in his eyes.

"I think that's a great idea," Barbara said.

The two of them continued on their way, the small glimmer of hope providing them with enough energy to make it back to their homes.

Barbara stumbled into her apartment, her eyes burning from staring at her computer screen for far too long. She was exhausted—not just from the twelve-hour shift she'd just completed, but from the sheer amount of evidence she'd had to untangle.

But for the first time in days, she was alone. And the mere thought of being at peace in her own place made her feel somewhat relieved.

She kicked off her shoes and padded her way to the bedroom. She sank into the soft mattress and rolled over, burying her head into her pillow. It smelled of her shampoo, of home.

Her mind couldn't help but wander back to the mysterious stranger she'd saved days ago from some want-to-be-gangsters. For some reason, he kept surfacing in her mind, and she couldn't help but feel drawn to him.

There was something about the way he had standing there, confident and calm in the face of danger, that she couldn't forget. It was almost as though he was giving off an "alpha-male" energy, and Barbara found herself strangely drawn to it.

She closed her eyes, imaging the man who seemed to have taken over her thoughts. He was tall with broad shoulders and a strong jawline. He seemed to exude strength and power.

Barbara felt herself blushing, as she thought about how handsome he was. She imagined his deep brown eyes and what it might be like to be in his arms.

Suddenly, a loud noise outside of her window startled her out of her reverie. She shook off the thoughts of the man and opened her eyes.

The noise was coming from the street below. She could hear shouting and the sound of glass breaking. Barbara sighed and rolled over, trying to ignore it.

But then she remembered the man again. Barbara felt a warmth inside of her—a sense of admiration and respect for this man she didn't even know.

But as she tried to focus on the details of her life, her thoughts were quickly drawn to the man she had saved. She could feel herself becoming aroused as she imagined what might have happened if their paths had crossed differently, if they had been two normal individuals meeting for the first time.

The thoughts were becoming too intense for her to handle. She felt her body tense up and her breathing become shallow. She wanted to push away the thoughts, to fight against the intensity of her feelings, but the more she tried, the stronger they became.

Finally, she could no longer resist her desires and she allowed herself to succumb to them. She closed her eyes and imagined what it would feel like to touch the man she had saved and to feel his body against hers. Her breathing began to quicken and her body began to heat up.

She reached down and unbuttoned her pants, feeling the warmth of her own skin as she touched herself. Her fingers found their way to her clitoris and she began to rub it in a slow, circular motion. Her breathing became heavier and her body began to shake. She imagined the man's face and the intense connection between them, and with that, she felt the pleasure rise and swell inside of her.

As she began to reach the peak of her pleasure, she grabbed her pillow and pressed it against her mouth to muffle her moans. She felt her orgasm wash over her body, and for a few moments, she felt like she was suspended in time.

When it was over, she lay there in a state of bliss, feeling her body slowly come down from the high she had just experienced. She smiled to herself and felt a sense of contentment and peace, grateful for the moment of pleasure she was able to experience.

But as soon as she opened her eyes and saw the city around her, her thoughts returned to the man she had saved and the connection between them. She felt a flurry of emotions, all of which she knew she would have to confront sooner or later. She was not ready to face them yet, but she knew that the time would come.
