Chapter 3 - In the palace

Jessica was delighted at the sound of the door and told me to open it quickly. I didn't believe what I just saw. Guards were all around the house and a gigantic golden seacoach was standing behind them. Then the doors opened widely and a figure of a mermaid was getting out of it. This person was the king of the sea! He told me to follow him unto the carriage. We travelled all the way to finally arrive to the kingdom palace. Even from far away the castle looked enormous. It felt like I was in a fairy tale! As we opened the gates, hundred of servants, guards and people greeted me with joy. I was amazed and happy even though I didn't know why I was here. After the feast, the king invited me to the main hall and told me everything about my presence here. It turned out that I am the mermaid's princess! I felt like I skipped a beat from that shock! He declared to me all the story from the beginning. Everything started when the king decided to go in human form to visit the UP world(as they call it) because only the royal family could do this, and met a beatiful woman. He couldn't resist to fall for her charm. They got married and got a baby which seems to be me eventually. Now after a years probably, she found out that he was seeing other women down there so they got into a fight and divorced. The 2 of them wanted me to go with them so my mother ran away taking me with her. When he found out he was as angry as a bull. He searched land and sea to find us and finally saw a fishing boat across the sea which he remembered was her boat. As king of the sea he used his powers to sink the boat. My REAL mother died but I lived assuming that I can breath under water. But sadly he didn't find me and it looks like I was found on shore of my village's sea and raised by them. I knew I was an orphan but not that way! Well he said that now that I'm back I can live with my true family again forever. I was happy but also sad. Happy that I found my real father, but sad that I won't see the people who raised and I really wanted to go back home. I told him the truth but he didn't let me go back. I passed more that a month there not finding a way to get out of the palace. And each day he told me the same thing: don't worry one day you will love it here and you will love me too. I thought all hope of getting back was lost because even if I found an open door, guards would be securing it and won't let me pass by. Until one day I was sitting in my room when I heard a noise on the back of the window
