Bella's gloomy eyes became wide when someone grabbed her shoulder firmly. At first she thought it would be Myra, but the firm grip made her suspicious that it was some man. Nervousness made its place in Bella's mind. She glanced at her shoulder blade, and could see a muscular hand with veins throbbing. She gulped, trying to be as normal as possible and twirled around to face the man.
Her raised eyebrows switched to normal, while her trembling lips formed a dazzling smile as her eyes met the black pearl eyes. The man smiled back, while his hefty hand cupped Bella's cheek. He was a tall, handsome guy with a buff physique. His muscular body was encased in formal attire. He had a black blazer over his white shirt, paired with black pants. Bella felt her cheek cold as his stainless steel watch touched her cheek. She grabbed his hand and let out a sigh. "Gosh, you just made me freaking nervous." The guy with thick eyebrows, sharp nose and mussed hair laughed, "Why on earth would you be scared of me?" He regained his composure as he said seriously, "No guy would touch you." His eyes stared straight into Bella's eyes.
His name was Sam Thomson, elder brother of Myra and Bella's cousin. Bella gripped his hand firmly as she said, "Of course I know brother!" Bella huffed, "Finally you are here!" Sam said dramatically, "Don't you think I should be the one saying that?" Bella arched her left eyebrow demanding for an explanation. Sam replied, "Small parties at Thomson mansion reminds you to meet your friends named CORNERS. You squeeze yourself in some corner, mostly that one.." Sam pointed out the achievement section, the glass cabinet filled with awards and trophies! Bella said playfully, "Well I broke up with that friend because that corner was giving attention to the guests!" She continued seriously, "Though the corner is empty at the moment, some time back it was buzzing with people."
Sam held Bella's hands and made her sit on the chair as he said, "You were going upstairs, right?" Bella exclaimed, "How did you know?" He smiled as he said, "Your gloomy face told me that you were getting bored!" Sam's eyes were scanning the entrance hall followed by the stairway as he asked, "Where is Myra? I saw you girls holding hands. Where is she?" His scanning eyes reverted to Bella as she said, "Well, she is with Hannah!" Sam let out a sigh, "What really? She just left you alone? She could have at least asked you to accompany her! Well, let me call my spoiled sister!" He was about to take out his phone from the blazer, but Bella stopped him. "It's your day, don't be angry. It's okay, she is with her friend. Don't spoil your and her mood by calling her. It's okay!" He took her hand, "My mom rightly tells YOU ARE PERFECT IN EVERYTHING!"
Their cheerful conversation was interrupted by the vibration. Sam took out his vibrating phone and disconnected the call and kept his phone on the counter continuing his talks. However his phone began ringing again. He bit his lower lip as he was vexed at being interrupted. However, Bella told him with a smile, "Pick up the call. It might be an important one." After talking for a few minutes, he looked at Bella with his furrowed eyebrows. "Sorry, I will have to go. The clients from Burma have arrived and I have to…" Bella chortled, "Sam, there's no need to give an explanation. We can talk later." Sam brushed her hair as he asked, "I know you are getting bored. Do you want me to tell my friends to join you, to give you company?" Bella's smile faded away as she became edgy, "Umm…" Sam's next words did calm her, "Well, agreed I have a lot of guy friends, but I do have a few girlfriends as well." He brushed her hair as he continued, "By friends I mean my girlfriends. Can I ask them to join you?" As Sam expected Bella denied. She said, "No, I can keep my company."
Sam was about to leave, but his mind forced him to walk back to Bella. Bella wondered why he stopped and was walking back to her. Sam gaped at the confused Bella and prepared himself to drop the bombshell. He said, "Bella, can you help me?" Bella nodded, "Yes please, it will cut off my mind from being bored. So tell me." Sam asked, "Do you remember the contemporary dance preparation that you girls did a few months ago?" As expected Bella's fresh face withered away. "Why are you reminding me of that embarrassing moment? I messed up…" Sam intervened, "A bit. You just messed up a bit. There wasn't anything embarrassing as such."
Before Bella could ask, Sam posed another question. "Do you see that stage right there?" Bella exclaimed, "Yes, I wonder what's gonna happen on the stage." She gaped at him with exciting eyes. The excitement was about to turn futile as Sam said, "A contemporary dance performance." Bella would tremble on hearing contemporary dance as it would remind her of her dance which stood worst in her eyes. She enquired, "Who's gonna dance?" Sam gazed at Bella's questioning eyes and answered with his eyebrows held high and his eyes pointing at Bella. Bella's eyes grew wide while her mouth fell agape out of shock. She immediately said, "No, no, no…" Sam shrilled, "Yes, yes, yes…" Bella raised her voice, "NO…" Sam raised his voice too, "Yes!" Bella cried out, "I don't trust myself!"
Sam tried to calm her down, "Okay, you don't trust yourself, but you trust me, right?" Bella with her pouted lips nodded like a baby. Sam continued, "Since you trust me, you gotta trust my choice as well. My choice is you!" Sam's phone started ringing again. He said hurriedly, "I know it's been a while since you last danced, so check out your phone. Myra might have sent you the rehearsal video! I gotta go!" With this Sam left her on the spot. Bella didn't wish to open her phone that lay dead on the counter. Her feet were trembling out of fear, while her mind was stuck to her past. The wrinkles weren't ready to leave her forehead.
