Chapter 1 - I Got Transported to Another World? (Rewrite)

It was just an ordinary day in the Spring, I woke up just as usual in the afternoon... I opened my computer and went on YAL, to see what new anime was going to air this evening. That's right, I am what you would call an 'otaku'. I read light novels and I enjoy watching anime.

I looked at my monitor and saw that there was a really hyped up anime that would be airing at 9:15PM. In short, this anime plays in a world where demons reside, and they are quite dangerous. The protagonist's siblings end up getting killed with the exception of the eldest little sister, who turned into a demon herself.

In short, this anime was about the older brother's journey trying to save his little sister.

It sounded interesting, and along with the astonishing animation that the trailer featured, I decided to add it to my plan to watch list so I wouldn't forget about it.

After I looked through other anime as well, I did a little bit of gaming. Some time later, I heard my stomach growl. Curiously, I looked at the time and noticed that it's already 7:00PM.

Yeah... I should probably go get some food for dinner. So with that decided I got my keys, wallet, and walked to a convenience store.

On my way there, I was thinking of what I should get... 'Hmm, some chicken wings maybe? No... I am not really in the mood for it right now I guess.'

After racking my brains for a few more minutes, I settled on buying a lunch box, snacks, and some soda.

And finally, I got to the convenience store. By the way, I didn't mention this, but something felt off. I had the feeling that I was being watched.

I couldn't really wrap my head around it, that's why in the end I decided to ignore it, since it may just be my imagination.

"Welcome!"

The clerk welcomed me into the store in a happy tone. I nodded, and went to buy the stuff I came here for.

I paid with a 5,000 yen bill, and received the change back. I got 2 bags of chips with hot chili flavor, an orange-flavored soda and a lunch box which came to a total of 3,000 yen.

"Thank you for your patronage! Please come back again!"

As I went out through the door, I noticed that the sun was already down, the moon was shining in all its glory, and the poles were already turned on.

Whilst I leisurely walked down the empty street I could only hear the gravel crunching below my feet.

There were no people on this street, and if you add up the uneasy atmosphere I felt earlier, this scene was quite creepy.

You would think that there would be some grandparents taking a walk, or businessmen going back home after a long, tiring day, but that's wrong.... Or so I thought.

In front of me, I could see two people walking, one boy and one girl. They looked like they were in their first or second year in high school, and they were happily chatting.

The guy was an ikemen, his eyes blue just like the sky, and his hair was blonde. With those looks I bet he's popular in his class, and perhaps, even in the whole school.

The girl, wearing a lovely smile, was blushing slightly. Her long, light blue hair fluttered in the air as her cyan eyes were gazing at the ikemen.

That said, those two looked like they were made for each other.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were a couple, and if not, I'm sure they're often teased as one.

In a world of my own, I thought about all this as I accidentally bumped into her shoulder. The girl looked surprised and I apologized,

"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

The girl who was interrupted, looked at me and said,

"It's okay!"

"No, it's not okay, Ai-chan. You should pay more attention when you're walking, dude."

The girl was understanding, however the guy glared at me. I didn't want to get into an argument, so I quickly responded,

"Yes, I will. See ya."

And started walking. The ikemen was still glaring at me, while the girl told him to just pay no mind.

But not even a few seconds later, something appeared on the asphalt. Something that looked like a magic circle out of an anime, or a light novel if you will.

You could call this situation an isekai transfer, that any person that likes the genre would probably like to experience at least once.

I looked at the two while thinking this, and their eyes were wide open, shock on their faces. They probably never watched an anime, and they were biasedly hating on it without even giving it a try. Damn you, normies.

The magic circle was glowing brighter and stronger as the seconds passed by, until I could no longer keep my eyes open to look at it and had to shield my eyes with my arm.

At the same time, I started feeling nauseous, most likely because of the magic circle. As this feeling gradually disappeared, so did the brightness coming from the circle.

Stepping back into reality I opened my eyes, and what I saw in front of me, was a girl that gave off a majestic air.

She looked like a princess out of a fantasy novel. That's how cute she was. Her deep blue eyes looked at us, as her long blonde hair fluttered in the air.

Behind her were some suspicious individuals, who were wearing some kind of robe, which hid their body, along with their faces. The princess looked at us and said,

"Welcome Heroes, I'm glad that you've accepted our call."

She gave a lovely smile along with that, but what went through my head at the time was…. 'Why me?'
