Bella POV
Ravines of New Irismus
The return trip was almost an anticlimax.
The furs helped us combat the cold and freezing winds, which seemed to have picked up on the way back. We would have almost frozen without the furs.
The two strange teens slithered along with us, absolutely unmindful of the cold. Yet, I could sense the sadness emanating from them. They were in pain and sad to leave the only home they had known.
Ivy sidled closer to me and whispered, "This is a strange place isn't it? Searing hot across the border and freezing cold here."
I didn't respond as I negotiated the spongy land below and tried my best not to fall. The horses would have gone into panic and given us away for sure. No wonder we had had to leave them behind.
The creature named Elad was just ahead of me and I wondered if he understood our language. Ivy didn't seem to notice my silence and went on, "What do you think is in the box?"
