Azriel was still in shock when they stepped towards the village periphery. She was fuming with Ashdeer over the way he had callously left Malia behind, how he had assumed that she would quietly marry him and how he was now dragging her all the way to Dilorus, the capital of the Elveran Kingdom to be presented to Ishatar. She felt like she was being bumped from man to man, and given no time to decide what she really wanted for herself.
Ashdeer didn't seem to have any inkling of her irritable thought. Instead he was already nodding and shaking hands with Farhad as he opened a portal for them.
"Not the currents again." Aranus groaned behind her. She couldn't agree more with Aranus. The currents terrified her, with their strange images and the last thing she wanted was to go through them again.
