Azriel looked right and left and then slowly, crept out of her room, sticking to corners as she sneaked out of the townhouse in the afternoon. There had been guards around and the maid who attended to her was always around and underfoot. Ashdeer seemed terrified of leaving her alone, and she had grown resentful of the constant surveillance and supervision. She was sure they would leave for Irismus in the next few days, as she had overhead the maid mention the same to the cook, that day at breakfast. So she had pretended that she had a headache and had instructed the maid not to disturb her on her afternoon nap. In the meantime, she had pumped up some pillows and placed a sheet over them so as to make it appear like she was sleeping. She hoped this could be her cover for the next few hours so that she could return well in time for the dinner that Ashdeer had mentioned to her in the morning.
