Azriel watched in trepidation as Wole and Ewol took off with the Erols. One of the scouts, a largish man with long blonde hair and bent nose, picked up Malia and took off with her as if she was as light as a feather, or a tiny child. Another man stalked off after him, presumably a fallback if things went South.
It was only Azriel, Aranus and Ashdeer left with four of these men now. Azriel wondered why Aranus had looked so horrified at the news of their travel mode.
"What's with the currents?" she asked Ashdeer curiously, hoping that knowing a bit more might prepare her a little better for what was to come.
He sighed and said, "Ancient, and primitive magic. So ancient, am not sure if it is even magic at all, but a natural phenomenon that these clans have been able to tap into. It's not for the faint hearted Azriel."
"Why?" she whispered to him.
