We all stood there looking at each other. Iris was cursing under her breath. Wole was stomping his foot and I was shaking and shivering.
Apparently I had signed my life away.
Iris glared at me and said, "You know what, I am not helping or rescuing you from this mess. It's because of you we are all stuck here. All the years I spent in The Blight and we never once came here. It was understood that we need to leave some places alone. But you....you come here and upend everything. I am done."
She stalked off leaving me standing there with Wole. I looked at him, tears brimming in my eyes. I hadn't asked for any of this. I had no idea about the sirens and their effect on me. I had been enchanted and in a trance.
He looked at me awkwardly and said, "I am leading this team Bella. I will not be letting you go anywhere. I can assure you that. I have to go and check on Rob. I'll find a way to get you out of here."
