Forget the alteration of my mark or the lack of proper sensible explanation from either of us, the wanders in my mind about the blood running through me left me fixated in my spot. how the moment I saw him I didn't ask the first question that would have normally arise, it's a known fact even though some have a degree of resistance to the sun but the equally get burned badly and again he seemed more agile−something in him was enhanced from the strand of his hair to the way he stood to the ground but why am I noticing it only now. After Cassuis dialed down on telling me the series of events that unfolded I still didn't understand why he needed my blood to get me back to his lord. "Why are you telling me this? Is it supposed to grant you a less painful punishment for your deeds" I spat
"Not at all, but I need you for to take them down"
What? I didn't hear him right! He had been loyal, laying his life down for his royal prince and all to waste it for what? An alliance with the same person he's longed to end
"No" Jake launched forward in between me and Cassuis's looking towards me. His eyes were coated with pain instead of concern. He was telling me not to just stand there and listen to the person that took too much away from him, that caused me pain too.
"Why?" I said over to Cassuis whom I could still see over Jake's shoulder walking around him to stand at front Cassuis.
"It is what you want too; I can see it in your eyes"

The air swoosh through hitting at my skin with such a merciless bite, it made me shiver from the inside. It seems to be always cold around here, there was barely any sound to be heard other than that of surf, wind and the crunching of dirt, leaves and snapping of twig under our weights. Reaching the edge of the water bed that I was supposed to have drown centuries back or three months back when I jumped off, looking down at the edge, giant water waves spreading out to it just when they had little to no energy to distort the calmness of it. The bed was littered with colorful transparent rocks making my reflection filled with different colors of the light spectrum while the water waves made it fold and bounce. I was suddenly left with the emotion I had when I was looking down into the riffles and turbulences, unsure and fear of the unknown. The tip of my dusty looking ankle boot was already being teased by the water, touching at it with the little of contact and retreating back only to be pushed back again with the little energy of the waves, it didn't feel welcoming. A deep sigh left through my parted lips while I already felt defeated, I didn't-I cannot rethink this
"Here, the cold gets to you easily" Jake came into view through the water reflection. I looked up to his face feeling a very fiery burn in my chest. He was handing out his jacket open for me to slip into, subsequently looking to his face while keeping track of the other eyes watching us, I felt my cheeks burn. I felt something in my stomach flipping while staring at his lips held up in a smile while he whore just a dirty ash shirt underneath an unbuttoned faded yellow T-shirt, flying with the rhythm of the wind and so was his hair, he looked simple but simply breathtaking.
"No Jake it's not necessary, I have a jacket on and you are wearing just little,"
"I keep warm anyhow but you are squeezing yourself for warmth, you need it more" He didn't even let me argue but just gripped my right hand wrist and pulled me closer to him, it felt like I had just passed through an electric field that we were just inches away.
I was suddenly feeling some vibration coming off of him, like a guitar string was struck holding an hallucinogenic tone echoing through me. I wondered if he felt it too, he seemed to be just fine. I tried no to show it but my frozen form in front of him made him squint his eyes at me a little
"Are you ok?" he asked reaching for my shoulder to ease the strap out of my back pack off my shoulder and did the same with another while my mouth still slightly hung open getting consume in the callings of that tune, my heart did a double trip before starting to race while heat slowly crept to my neck's length. It wasn't fear but I didn't know what I was feeling for a moment. He dropped the jacket on my shoulder instantly feeling warmth enveloping through my back to my shoulders
"Are you ok?" he asked again this time I heard it clearer, I nodded quickly feeling the energy pull away rapidly just like it came leaving me feeling confused and much more restless than before
"Yeah" I answered quickly my voice sounding not like mine while I push my arms through the jacket arm holes.
"It does make a difference" I smiled and reach down for my back pack and putting it back over my shoulder. Jake's jacket was indeed warmer and it reached to almost half my thigh engulfing me in not just cozy feeling but his scent too.
"Why can't you just be like that?" Maya asked nudging Kai in the midsection making him give out a sharp grunting noise.
"I cannot be like that, you need a strong man to protect you and that's what I am" kai stated We both turned towards them, Maya, kai, Leo and Cassuis all positioned in the order mentioned; Cassuis stood out of the clutched group, seeing they were mortal enemies Jake had to do quite some convincing on them to get us together for this cause, especially kai.
"I am really grateful you guys are here right now,"
"It's not like we had a choice, now let's go ahead to this place and finish this thing" kai said pushing forward towards us when Cassuis using his speed cut in front of him.
"Now careful, there is not your territory and it's not like what you know. It's best you follow behind me" I heard kai growl under his breath, I knew a lot like this will follow after and will be hard to handle
"It's bad enough that we were dragged out here for her..." he acclaim bitterly pointing towards me
"And because of something Jake's refusing to share and I am not taking orders from your likes" kai rumbled in Cassuis's face
"Yeah I know it's not convenient but I don't need you in each other's faces, please" I said squeezing in-between them making a little bit of room. Kai looked down at me with one side of mouth twitching
"I know we start off on the wrong foot and you don't like me, I don't expect anyone to walk through my fights for me but yet we are here now getting into something we have little knowledge of. I don't ask for you to trust him but right now, I'm afraid he's our only chance" it was quiet after what I have said all staring back at each other
"Alright then, you can go ahead"
"Are you sure that there is no any other way to get there?" I asked towards Cassuis whom was standing just centimeters away from me looking up as I was. The waterfall looked aggressive, it felt like that too like it has harness so much energy by the years gone.
"There is always another route but it will surely delay the freedom you seek" he answered. I looked over my shoulder to Jake whom was also close, we locked eyes and I could still see the distrust and pain in his eyes towards Cassuis. I felt guilty for imposing my own opinions on not just Jake but the rest of his pack whom have absolutely no idea what they had put themselves into
"Ok then, we will have to somehow Jump and climb to the hill top" My heart raced even with such a power that I possess, it was still intimidating and the memory of me jumping off a hundred feet into the water haunted me.
"Oh that is easy, I could do this in my sleep" Kai puffed his muscles dramatically taking off the bag hung over his shoulders. He took steps backward so as to achieve the velocity to jump over at least a twenty meters wide stream. Maya rolled her eyes and crossed her hands over her chest as her mate shows off, he charged with such a speed I haven't seen from him just at the verge of the river thrust upward and leaped into the air at just some point below the fall clasped himself there
"See? now Jake help your friend crossover" his voice and laughter reached us like an echo, I could hear the mockery in his voice. He continued up the against the hill while Maya got ready to jump crossover
"We should have thought a way for this bags beforehand"
"The bags were not needed, I can provide for this whole village" Cassuis crowed which we all ignored treading over to Maya. I took the bag out of her hands and held it against me
"You don't need to worry about this; I will get up there for you"
"Absolutely not little wolf," Maya reached for the bag in my hand but failed to get it out as I wasn't letting go
"you can barely get yourself up there let alone with two loaded bags on you" Maya genuinely thought I couldn't carry such a weight over my shoulder, it made me feel lucky at some point to have such a company but yet again the weights were just starting to get down on me
"I will help with it" Jake came in assuring Maya she would have her camp size bag with her over the enemy's territory. She did the same as her mate. as soon as she was out of earshot Cassuis inched in closer.
"So little wolf, they—"
"Yeah they don't know yet, I would like to keep it that way until I decide otherwise" He nodded in compliance a smirk forming on his face.
Followed after Maya was Leo, Cassuis and finally me and Jake. He refused to let me cross over alone, after we climbed to the top of the cliff, we were just about soaked up everywhere except for Cassuis, who reached the top before any of us. As we reached the top I asked for us to wait and change as it was practically a cake walk back to his castle.
"Wow you really did get it up here. I'm impressed" I gave a faint smile as we silently headed towards his stay through the death of the night. As soon as I was standing at the back entrance where I escaped from and now entering willingly. He cracked the entrance and ushered me in first; with a little bit of hesitation that I didn't want to show but every one of them sensed. I got in first with the little bit of bright showing my way to the door standing far away. They all followed behind silently, although I have been in this tunnel in a really uncomfortable situation, I could remember how the door was opened.Seemed really like a brick wall, I felt around it to the only loose brick; dug my fingertips to the four cornered side I pushed it in. The door came apart like it did before giving way to the kitchen, the atmosphere I had resented for the most difficult time of my life was again rushing through my nostrils. Luckily the women littering the kitchen were absent,
"You might want to go ahead, it's your place after all" I said giving way so Cassuis could push through
