Chapter 11 - Dark place

After examining my sore rib, I found the area discolored and extremely tender I might have sustained some internal injury but who cared to check it out, no one. I changed into some proper clothes which were jeans and a aqua blue sweater. I sat on the bed looking down at those broken chains, clutching my necklace–It always gives me some sort of strength but not even it could make this situation any less worst.

I was just counting over my luck this week, I mean I've got a rash, lost my friends, family, Max (my dog), got into an accident that wasn't really one, my mom got murdered right in front of me and I couldn't do a thing to stop it or help, I was kidnapped by mythical creatures and now again heading somewhere to get more of their "hospitality" treatment. Wow! I must have blew off the charts.

More tears came running down my flushed face, i was in so much pain. I haven't felt this much emotional pain since after I saw my dad's rammed body. I missed Max alot, he's helped me this past few years immensely. He got me up alot of times that I would fall wishing never to get back up again, he made me believe in myself and grew stronger than before, he made me want to save everyone else in trouble but here I was staring down the floor helplessly, I couldn't even save my own mother. How would I be able to save anyone else

My head snapped up jumping to my feet when I heard someone coming in, I quickly reach up to wipe me tears. She came in with the guy keeping an eye on me earlier. My body immediately started to tremble by the thought of her being closer, I was overcome by disgust and fear she might just end me this time. She was watching with a glint in her eyes. She's also changed into jeans and shirt with her hair in a ponytail. I wanted to yank on it and make her feel a little bit of what I was but i just had to comply if I wanted to walk out of this alive or at least a less painful death. After a bit of uncomfortable glare down from the both of them Lenora decided to end it, thank God

"I'm still intrigued as to how this frail thing is the key. Look at it" She said towards her colleague whom has his hands crossed over his chest while she observed me in utter amusement like she's never seen a body like mine.

My mind went out searching for what she meant by me being a key of some sort. If I could fit through any key hole then I know nothing good would come after that especially in the company of their caliber.

"Don't be relentless. They can be cunning" he said still not changing any of my demeanor.

"Come on honey. Let's get going" she took two steps forward towards me.

"Move!" Lenora ordered her uncanny cheery mood disappearing into her thick tenacious dark voice.

No! I cannot leave here for somewhere even farther from what I have known to be true.

"I-I-I think you've made a mistake somewhere, you've got the wrong person" I said my voice hoarse but it was more like a plead to let me go. I didn't want to follow them, it's better they kill me right there and get it over with.

"We don't make mistakes" her second said an evil grin spreading across his face. It wasn't just a smile but telling me they have much more in stored for me and it was just the beginning.

More tears were making their way down my cheeks. I wanted to run out that opened door, and keep running until I cannot again. But that would just turn out stupid

"Please, I promise not to tell the cops or anyone else if you just let me go." I tried again but it only seemed to make the male angrier. He was quickly in front of me before I could make an another attempt to free myself with words and the scary figure with dark eyes appeared again, I choked on my words pushing them to the pit of my stomach thus causing a short rapid cough. I shoved back quickly from the vampire threatening me up close but he seemed even less dangerous by the one standing by the door, it was as if darkness was seeped out of him and I'm not wanting any of it. He looked like to be the leader of their little pack. He didn't even throw me a glance but just looked directly towards Lenora.

"Bring with you the girl" he said turning on his heels and exiting.

"No please! Listen to me" I pleaded more tears flowing down my cheeks.

"Keep quiet!" He snarled.

They rudely ignored my plead and grabbed me roughly by my upper arms shooting waves of pain through my already sore body, following the orders of their frightening boss. They literally dragged me out of the room into a hallway stumbling on my own feet trying to keep to their pace. I would have gladly walked the rest of the way after he smacked my across the face before bringing me out the hall, they've shown me how dreadful they could be and would be willing to do more. Soon enough we were outside, the skies still bathed in small twinkling light against the spread sheet of black, it was ever dark.

How was it that it was night again, it doesn't seem to make much sense unless I only passed out for an hour or two. Not like anything had made sense in the past few days.

I was shoved roughly into a black heavily tinted limo that was patiently waiting for the arrival of it's guest of honor on the drive through. I was being treated like one of the criminals that committed treason against their country with the heavy security of black (also tinted) SUVs on the main and back of the car. The door flew closed and then locked as soon as my body touched the leathered seat. The other two didn't follow in at some point I thought maybe I might be getting the exclusive treatment(driving alone) and maybe got a chance of escape if I successfully knock out the driver and not get crashed in a tree, even though the doors were now locked but it was still something, I had to stay positive.

Yet again no much luck on my side, I felt his glare shouting draggers and boring through my skin settling deep inside my flesh. I swiftly turn my head to my side and locked eyes with dark ones, I nearly shrieked at his stone features but I gulped hard I could still feel my beating heart in my ears and so would he. I had never received such a glare filled with so much hatred and distaste in them well even more, they were promising me pain and torture. It felt his glare could kill me faster than a sniper's bullet in the heart anytime.

I wanted to talk or even plead with him to set me free and promise never to mention it to anyone–his eyes were telling me no way out and I shouldn't dare to talk at him and that even if it meant tearing me piece by piece, limb to limb he would take me to my destination. I moved my gaze away tears finally falling, my head was pulsing rhythmically with my eyes burning and hurting as I continued to sob silently. We drove for what felt like hours, I won't even start to tell you how my butt felt and occasionally scratching of my neck.

After I've told myself maybe I was getting out of the country by road and without my passport, the car came to a sudden stop. I looked up with a crooked neck, staring down at your lap for hours wasn't really a thing to do even if you were kidnapped by underworld creatures. He opened his door and closed it behind him, I did want to follow but I didn't want to earn a smack across the face. I sat there getting almost impatient, I didn't like waiting especially with no clue where in the world I was.

My door flew opened making me jump revealing the guy that almost strangled me In bed. I sighed in relief not that it was good seeing him but it at least wasn't the horrifying creature that I was locked in the car with for hours and didn't even hear the slightest movements from him. He leaned down so that I could see his face properly, with a mocking grin on his face

"You don't need a carriage house now, do you?" I shook my head and stepped out of the car. As soon as I did his hand was grabbing my upper arm again before he shut the door with a thud. I looked up at him, with wide eyes trying to rule of the odds that he thought I might run away. Well actually I would if I got the chance but right now I have no idea where I was or where to run to–I just might end up in a more battered situation

"You'll never see the light again" he promised threateningly before shoving me forward–It did sound promising. I was standing before a huge castle, dark, crows circling the area and colorless. It looked like the part of the universe that hasn't known the existence of color. The air around the place was cold, brisk, uncomfortable and eerie stillness of the night with the occasional sound of the Ravens and dark puffy clouds, it added to the creepiness.

The leader was talking to someone at front as we waited around the car, with his grip ever tight around my arm, almost cutting off circulation. A sudden pain spreading across my chest made me crouch a little wrapping my hand around my stomach followed by intense nausea wave. He snarled pulling me by the arm to straighten up as cough escaped my mouth accompanied by extreme pain in my throat, I doubt if my windpipe wasn't cracked.

I remembered I didn't have any liquid or food for more than 48hours now, added to my weakness was the aftermath of the accident. I haven't even healed a scratch on me and I was getting moved around. My vision was doing that thing again like back in the house. I shook my head a little trying to get myself together feeling the pain slowly starting to overwhelm me.

"Fuck!" He shrieked letting go off my arm. I struggled to keep on my feet but I found myself barely leaning against the car. I started to register another stream of pain erupting from my chest again and fluid up my throat followed by metallic taste in my mouth. I touched over my now wet sticky lips with my shaking hand, looking at it covered in blood. I wanted to gasp but instead I was gagging and choking on my blood.

Soon enough I was starting to lose my peripheral vision, I could barely focus the image of the men in black watching me before my knees finally decided to give out from beneath me, before I could hit the ground like a pile of laundry, I felt firm strong arms wrapped around me pulling me against their body. I was lifted up gently letting my head rest on his chest muscles feeling nothing but my throbbing body and heavy breathing, I was washed by intense fever. I was forcing myself to not let the darkness pull me in because I was afraid–I might never wake up or might end up on their dinner table tonight. My eyes were super heavy not wanting to stay open anymore just before I heard his voice.

"Get us in" The words rumbling in his chest straight into my ear.

I was in his arms!

I wanted to wiggle out of it but not even a finger was willing to move on me. How dare him touch me after what they've put me through, he held me, preventing me from helping my mother up until she took her last breath. They didn't even have the decency to let me say goodbye before he rudely snatched me. If they left my mother laying there on the streets to be found by forest dogs, I'm gonna put a bullet through every inch of him. I wasn't feeling afraid again but just the rage I had caged in me. I heard other voices muttering around my head striking me like boulders

"Put. Me . Down!" I said but it was more like a mutter or a groan, I doubt if it wasn't just inside my head. In response his hands tighten around me pushing me even harder against his chest. I wanted to hit him or even threw a glare but none was in my favor. I was getting sucked down by the pain in my chest and neck area. My body couldn't hold on any longer, it couldn't take that much pain. I just had to give in but not before slightly opening my eyes seeing his dark eyes looking down at mine menacingly.
