Chapter 23 - Friendly Freak

The traveler was crossing a mountain forest.

The traveler listened. A little girl was crying in the distance. Her crying was overlaid with the malicious words of the slavers. The traveler gritted his teeth and ran.

The hunters have already caught the kid. The slaver holding her looked calm. It was as if there was a tiny furry animal in his hands, destined to become an expensive thing. Another slaver was licking her ripe lips.

She held the worm-like creature up to the child girl. The kid was crying and calling for help. The female slave trader was laughing. Her companion was frowning slightly at this squeaky laugh.

A sharp blade flew at the female slaver's head. The woman dodged. The ripe lips turned dark blue. Her breath caught in her throat.

The calm slaver summoned the three-armed trig. The woman hurried after him, she took the girl by the skin and held the blade to her throat.

The traveler knocked the girl out of the woman's clutches. The bound child fell helplessly. A fight broke out around her. The clothes were wrapped in bloody shreds. The woman took out her anger more than her indifferent companion.

The black mask of the traveler shattered under the attacks of the slavers. And two glowing eyes appeared to their gaze. Red and ... purple. A third of his pale face was filled with pinkish tumors. The white teeth formed a snarl. The pale girl growled deep in her throat.

"Pe'li-mra?" the slavers blinked rapidly.

In anger, the ugly girl attacked and tore off the woman's hand. The slavers screamed and disappeared into the dark depths of the forest.

Seeing the face of the traveler, the rescued kid began to cry. And the first thing that freed her from her bonds, child girl threw a heavy stone at the savior. "Pe'li-mra, pe'li-mra, pe'li-mra!" Then the kid ran away.

A bleeding wound appeared on the traveler's disfigured face. The damage quickly disappeared. The face returned to the previous one with tumors, but without wounds. The traveler poked the fragments of the mask with the toe of her boot and sighed. She had to wrap herself in dusty old rags.

And so after all, it's not far to problems with the lungs. Although what problems can there be? Her lungs will recover almost immediately. However, she can not get rid of those tumors on the muzzle. I'm so sorry, friendess…

The Purple Luminary was rising to its apogee. The mountain was painted in a purple palette. The traveler was stretching on her hammock. She wanted to sleep. But through her drowsiness, a heart-rending scream broke through to her.

The traveler was biting her lips. His brows furrowed. But she still got out of the hammock. Pale, leafless trees flew by. Jumping over rocks and logs, the girl almost immediately rushed to the cliff.

A guy was shouting on the edge of the abyss. Rags of a torn kimono hung from his shoulders. Trails of blood crawled over the stones. His fingers were raw to the bone.

"My Goodness! Someone save..." Han slid off. Mangaka's heart went numb. "Shall I die?"

A black figure grabbed the guy by the arm. She pulled mangaka to her. Han noticed a purple eye. [How beautiful… a girl saved me? Her eye is very beautiful ... eh? Why is she looking so angry?]

The girl turned around and left. Han ran after her, stumbled and hit his head on a rock. The traveler rubbed her temples.

Han woke up in a hammock, under a warm blanket. The traveler was lighting a fire. Mangaka felt his bruised forehead. [Did I ... did I hit a rock? What a clumsy fellow I am!]

Mangaka stood up. The Purple Luminary crossed the apogee and sadly descended to the mountains. The Pink Moon eagerly sought to take her older sister's place, ready to crush any obstacle in the way.

[ This moon is very beautiful. ] Han watched on the traver. She snorted. Mangaka smiled.

[ I must found out Moyi and Scarfkin. But can I? ] His smile disappeared.

[ I need help... ]
