Nesta nodded her head no as she shifted up the bed and placed her back on the little headboard, adjusted the pillows to get into a better position so she would not hurt her injured arm and leg. Jasper saw her withdrawing and took it as his cue to leave, he would let her have her space until she is ready to talk.
"You can stay here until you want, you don't have to worry about anything. You are safe here." he said to her as he reached the door. She managed to give him a small smile in gratitude before he exited the room.
As the days passed, Jasper continued to keep a watchful eye on Nesta. He made sure to be there whenever she needed help or protection, even if she didn't realize he was watching over her. He found himself drawn to her strength and resilience, and he couldn't help but admire her for trying to make the best of her situation.
