Chapter 41 - iii. Flushed

Aside from the fact that she has been deprived of her freedom, she has been treated by everyone like the lady of the castle.

All she ever wanted has been given to her. She received gifts nonstop daily, even when she would not even touch them.

She took the necklace the servant laid on the dresser and threw it at the now-entering Daisuke. It was a white gold necklace with a rare emerald as a pendant. Her old self would have deemed it such a waste to throw such an expensive thing away, but at the moment, she did not care.

The gemstone struck Daisuke on his cheek. It left an angry slash on his face and a taint of scarlet as blood gushed out of the incision.

She tried not to look shocked or afraid as the servants scrambled to get out of her chambers, leaving her face-to-face with her captor.

He picked up the jewelry, wiping the blood away. He walked towards her and forced her to face the mirror.
