شاہ زر کے لہجے میں نہ جانے کیا تھا کہ حیا منع نا کر سکی وہیں جھولے پر اس کے پاس بیٹھ گئی ہاتھ ابھی بھی شاہ زر کے ہاتھ میں تھا شاہ زر نے تھکے ہوئے انداز میں جھولے کی پشت سے ٹیک لگا کر آنکھیں موند لیں اور انگلیاں اس کی انگلیوں میں پھنسا دی حیا کی ساری جان سمٹ کر اس کے مضبوط ہاتھ میں قید ہوگئی وہ موم بن کر پگھلنے لگی دل پھر اس کی طرف ہمکنے لگا تھا
حیا نے دیکھا شاہ زر کا چہرہ مانو ضبط کی وجہ سے سرخ ہو رہا ہے حیا کو لگا اب اگر وہ مزید یہاں رکی تو شاہ زر کے قدموں میں بیٹھ کر اپنی جھولی پھیلا کر کہے گی خدا کا واسطہ اپنے سارے غم مجھے دے دو میں آپ کو ایسے نہیں دیکھ سکتی
شاہ زر کی پلکیں جو اس کی نیلی آنکھوں کو ڈھانپے ہوئی تھی وہ نم ہونے لگی حیا کو لگا اب اس کی سانس رک جائے گی اس شخص کا یہ ٹوٹا روپ اس کے دل کو چھلنی کر رہا تھا
حیا مزید وہاں بیٹھتی تو اس کی دھڑکن رک جاتی اسی لئے اٹھ کر جانے لگی لیکن شاہ زر نے اس کا ہاتھ نہیں چھوڑا بلکہ وہ بھی اس کے سامنے اٹھ کھڑا ہوا
حیا نے دیکھا اس کی نیلی آنکھوں میں سرخ ڈورے تیر رہے تھے شاہ زر نے تھاما ہوا ہاتھ اپنے دل کے مقام پر رکھا
حیا بخوبی اس کی دھڑکن محسوس کر سکتی تھی
"میں تم سے صرف ایک سوال پوچھوں گا جواب سچ دینا اگر تم نے جھوٹ بولا تو خدا کرے میری دھڑکن یہیں بند ہو جائے"
