Dusk.
"Oh my god, they are so cute~!" said Harin as she knelt on the floor while gazing at the two little fellows sleeping inside the box with shining eyes.
"Why did you bring them here? Did you steal them?" said Michael's father who was busy munching down a steamed corn.
"What? No! I picked them up along the fields, it seems someone left them there. So I brought them home when Hao found them," hurriedly said Michael as he was afraid that his mother who was busy in the kitchen would misunderstand what happened.
"So you brought them back and plan to raise them?" his father said as he also took a peek at the two little pups peacefully sleeping inside the box, with a piece of cloth as their bed.
"Yeah, so I'm heading out to town and see if I can get some milk suitable for them," replied Michael while looking at his reflection in the mirror.
His father looked at him and said, "Can't they just drink the milk that's stored inside the fridge?"
Harin laughed when she heard what her father said and replied, "Cow milk? Dogs are lactose intolerant dad, they'd have difficulty digesting milk or else they'd get sick"
Their father raised his hands in surrender and said with a laugh, "My bad~"
Suddenly, a laughing voice sounded from the kitchen, which was grating on the ears of their father, "See? Now we know where the two of them takes after from...me!"
"Ha! As if!"
"Wha...what!?"
"No...nothing dear!"
"Exactly~!"
That was the scene Michael and Hao left at the house as they boarded their truck and made their way to the town center, and arrived near the local veterinary clinic ten minutes or so later.
Michael got down from the truck, followed by Hao who quickly jumped on his shoulders.
Locking the car behind him, Michael made his way inside the clinic and was greeted by something that immensely startled him.
Ring~!
"Hello, how can I help you?"
Michael blankly stood there as he stared at the woman behind the reception for a couple of seconds before turning around and walking out, and looked up to make sure that he didn't come to the wrong place.
[Vets For Pets Animal Clinic]
'What the heck?'
"Hao?"
Hao meowed or something similar to Michael, as she looked at his face with confusion.
"Ah? No, I was just surprised to see her here" replied Michael with a laugh as he once again made his way back inside the clinic.
Ring~!
"So, did you make sure that you didn't come to the wrong place?" said Kira with a laugh.
The woman was a beauty and had sleek long black hair and stood around one hundred eighty three centimeters, where Michael was just a few centimeters taller than her. She has a fair skin and a pair of C-cup watermelons that could make any man ogle at it, especially when she's wearing those tight fit clothes that shows off her good figure.
Michael laughed and replied, "Yeah, I did. But how come I'm only finding it now that you're actually running this veterinary clinic?"
He was genuinely surprised and confused.
After all, even though this is the first time that he's visiting this place, he did learn from Summer that even though Kira are one of those few rare cases that don't have any accompanying spirit when they awakened and only have one specific ability unlike the others. He still wouldn't believe that she'd run a veterinary clinic when she's not even a veterinarian in the first place.
"I didn't know someone like you runs a veterinary clinic. In fact, I've never heard any news of you running a clinic as after all, you're quite famous throughout the country" asked Michael with a smile as he approached the reception desk, and at the same time, he couldn't help but take a quick glance at those bulging peaks before hastily looking away.
Kira noticed his eyes, but she just laughed it off and said, "Of course not, I'm just taking over for the night for my friend who had gotten sick earlier today. So you're here, what can I help you with?"
Michael jolted as he finally remembered the reason why he came here and hastily replied, "Well, I picked up two pups when I was out for a jog earlier and came here to see if the clinic is selling milk replacers and other necessities"
"Is that so? Well, give me a minute" said Kira as she gave Hao a glance before making her way to the back.
Feeling weird, Michael glanced at Hao who was hanging on his shoulder and whispered, "Is your cuteness deteriorating or something?"
With a slight tilt of her head, Hao replied, confused, "Hao?"
"Nevermind" said Michael with a chuckle as he was genuinely surprised earlier that Kira didn't seem to be surprised at Hao's presence that could conquer any woman with her kawaii!
A little while later, Kira came back holding a few things in her arms and laid them out at the reception desk.
"So this is the milk replacer, and how old are the puppies?" asked Kira while she showed Michael the can of milk for the puppies and a row of different sizes of milk bottles.
"Hmm…"
"Hao!"
Michael thought for a moment when Hao replied to the question in his stead.
Then Michael looked at Kira and said, "She says they're around a week old"
"Okay, this small one then. They should drink sixteen ml of the formula per one hundred grams of body weight per day, twenty ml per day during the third week and...Nevermind, I'll just write it down for you"
Kira tried explaining on how to properly feed them, but when she saw that Michael was slowly getting dazed from hearing her explanation, she just decided to write it down in the end as she knew that Michael would probably just forget what she just told him.
Embarrassed, Michael just chuckled and after a little hesitation, he said "Thank you, but...ummm...what if they're...monsters?"
Kira stopped writing and stared at Michael for a few seconds before opening her mouth saying, "Whaaat? They're...they're not dogs, but monster dogs? Wait, I mean...wolves?"
"Huh!? No, they're dogs, but I think they mutated or something and became monsters..." Michael hurriedly explained to her what happened and how he encountered them.
"Wait...you also have the [Analyze] skill?" Hearing how Michael was able to identify them using an ability, Kira was a little shocked as she wasn't expecting to hear that from him.
'Analyze? Woman, I don't even have a single freaking skill! Anyway, I'll just bullshit my way through this in case she starts asking more!' Michael just chuckled at what she said even though he was kinda feeling bitter inside.
"Yeah, something like that" replied Michael while lightly scratching his cheek with his finger.
Kira looked at Michael, impressed and said with a chuckle, "Hmm...I didn't expect that I would actually meet someone tonight who had the same skill as me"
Michael laughed and said, "Yeah, so...about what I was talking about earlier? Does it change everything? After all, you're someone who's more proficient with dealing with monsters"
Smiling, Kira smiled, "No, I also feed my friends the same milk, so it'll be alright. Instead, would it be fine if I visit your home and check on those two puppies?"
Thinking that she might be interested in them because of her profession, Michael didn't even hesitate and said, "Sure, no problem"
'Hehe, Harin would be in a surprise if Kira stops by to visit'
Feeling relieved inside, Kira said, "Alright, how about I give you a discount in exchange?"
"Really? Cool!"
After that, both of them exchanged numbers and Kira promised that she would send him a message when she had time to stop by their house.
So Michael went home with a huge smile on his face, and it's not because he got to exchange numbers with a beautiful woman such as Kira.
"Wow, getting a discount is so awesome~! But she is wei~rd! I'm telling you Hao!"
"Hao?" replied Hao with confusion as she couldn't understand what he's trying to say to her..
"I'm telling you, she is weird! How come she wasn't affected by your cuteness? Could it be because she also has a cute pet at home!? That would explain things!" said Michael in agitation mixed with excitement!
Hao just looked at him with this face that says…
'Are you high, bruh?'
