Michael and Summer arrived at a bahay kubo, or a nipa hut that's erected beside the mouth of an irrigation channel and under a large mango tree that's over a hundred years old, where it's rumored to have a Kapre.
This area in their neighborhood contains a lot of childhood memories of Michael and Summer, and to other kids who they grew up with, as the old nipa hut was a usual hang out after school or on the weekends.
The two sat down inside the nipa hut and looked around the familiar hut as childhood memories flashed through their minds, and when their gazes met, both of them couldn't help but smile at each other and laughed.
Summer looked around the old place and said, "Hmm~ we had truly grown up huh? It felt like it was just yesterday when we were still kids playing in the fields"
"Yeah"
Looking around, Michael couldn't help but agree with her, and at the same time, he looked at her and quickly went straight to the point.
"Anyway, I'm pretty sure you didn't come all the way here to reminisce about childhood, and also, you still owe me ten thousand pesos that you borrowed from me when you bought that darn UPhone!" Michael said as he couldn't help but get agitated when thinking about the money that Summer still owes him!
Summer snorted, then took out her phone from her small bag and fiddled with it for a few seconds before saying, "There, I sent it. Now, I don't owe you money anymore"
Ding~!
Hearing the notification on his phone, Michael just smiled and didn't bother checking it.
"So what brings you here?" asked Michael while keeping an eye on Hao who's busy chasing butterflies and scaring birds.
"Did you already read the email that the branch office sent to you that contains more information about us?" asked Summer, as she became very laid back before Michael, and the latter couldn't help comparing it to her usual demeanor on TV and other people, where she appears aloof and cool at the same time.
Michael looked at the woman before him, who's sitting with her legs spread wide open, and placing one foot on the seating space of the hut and her right elbow resting on top of her knee, and her cheek leaning on her right knuckle.
A scene which would certainly baffle her admirers and fans, because…
"You look like a thug and not ladylike at all sitting like that. Aren't you scared that someone might see this side of you?" asked Michael as the corner of his mouth twitched while looking at this woman who's demeanor doesn't resemble even a little bit of that Summer Queen who always wore a serious expression and cool demeanor on TV.
"So? Not like I care anyway" laughed Summer, then she continued, "So did you read it?"
With a shrug of his shoulders, Michael replied, "No, besides I didn't get any email from them after I registered"
Hearing that, Summer narrowed her eyes as she stared straight into his eyes, but noticing that Michael seems pretty serious about it, she was baffled because she knows that every new superhuman would always receive that kind of email after they registered their new identity.
After all, even though the information contained in that email isn't at the level of being confidential. There are still things in there that are very important to newbies like Michael that they needed to know, because the information inside are not things that anyone can find by just randomly surfing the web, and it's very because the email would be automatically deleted after the recipient closes it, preventing it from being shared.
"You serious?"
"Yeah~! They really didn't send any email whatsoever" replied Michael with a laugh when he realized something about the reason behind it.
Irritated with Michael's laugh, Summer couldn't help but snap at him, "What are you laughing for? This is a serious matter! You even met a member of Antis on the day you registered, do you know how dangerous they are!?"
Not understanding why she referred to them as a dangerous group, Michael raised an eyebrow as he could smell a little conspiracy in her words, piquing his curiosity.
"Since you're already here, just tell me the contents of that email, and aren't the members of Antis consisting of ordinary people only?"
Summer stared at this childhood friend of hers and couldn't help but rub her temples thinking that there would actually be a day that those people at the branch office would freaking mess up!
"Let's talk about that later, but for now…"
In the end, Summer could only sigh and gave Michael a short summary of what he needs to know.
"So there's three kinds of superhumans? But isn't that like common knowledge?" mumbled Michael to himself after learning what Summer had told him.
Then he looked at Hao who's rolling on the dirt while meowing in delight.
"Hao~!"
Summer just sighed and answered, "It's not. Anyway, you'll slowly learn about it when you interact more with other superhumans"
Not minding with what she said, Michael could only feel amazement at the fact that the world had almost become like a game where the life of a few chosen people are determined by what their contracted spirit was after their awakening, "So Hao is Beast Spirit, while Iso is a Weapon Spirit, and then there's the Elemental Spirit"
Summer also casually mentioned that Terran World is almost similar to Earth. They also have racism, terrorism, a world where money makes the world go round, a place where the strong prey on the weak, slavery, etc.
Whereas Earth also has slavery, except that its low key slavery.
Where people die due to being overworked.
There's literally no difference between the two worlds, except for the fact that nations are referred to as Duchy, Principality, Kingdoms, and Empires.
And most importantly, there's not only the Human Race living in Terran, but also the Elven Race, the Dwarven Race, and other races that people might already be familiar with, vice versa.
She also mentioned that the know-how of figuring out whether a person is a superhuman or not from just looking if they're accompanied by their partners are long behind the times.
The reason behind that is that the latter two groups of superhumans can change the appearance of their spirit companion into something else as a disguise, just like how Iso can turn into a bracelet if they are out of battle.
"Just to make sure, can Hao really not transform like Iso?" asked Michael, as he can't accept the fact that Hao and other beast companions can't transform like the others.
Summer chuckled as she knew that Michael was just being sulky, "No, she's a literal living being. Beast Spirits are just classifications"
Michael grumbled, and Summer just smiled at that and asked, "So, what kingdom did you wake up to in Terran?"
"Eh?"
Hearing her words, Michael grew startled and his eyes suddenly became dodgy, then he slowly stood up like he didn't hear her at all and casually stretched his body saying, "Aigoo~ it's getting late. Me and Hao need to go for our daily jog now, what about you? Are you going home now? Aunt Joan is probably looking for you by now"
Summer's eyes narrowed dangerously and said, "Do you still think we're kids or something? Sit..the..f*ck..down"
"Yes ma'am!"
Michael quickly sat down rigidly like a soldier. He wasn't always like this to Summer, but it all changed when she became a superhuman, and it made her tomboyish attitude worse!
And because of it, he occasionally suffered from it!
Summer then sat seriously with her fingers interlocked together before her mouth, she said with a voice as cold as the freezing snow, "So, where did you end up in Terran?"
Scratching the back of his head, "Ehh...hmmm, how should I put this into simple words?"
"Right...I didn't get transported to Terran at all! Amazing, right!? Hahaha…!"
With a face so bright and like there's sunlight behind him like Buddha, Summer couldn't help but turn rigid as she couldn't believe what she's hearing right now.
"Whaaat!?"
'Shit, mission failed. I'll trick her next time'
