Three women bolted towards Aife and Faum. Aife crossed her arms across her chest, anticipating his next advance. Faum perceived her intentions from the corner of his eye. As the enemy neared, he stepped forward, not unsheathing his sword as if not to harm them. He ducked and hoisted the woman in arms before throwing her at another one, who yelled from a distance. He tossed his scrabble up and kicked the woman in the guts throwing her backward. He caught the scrabble and smacked the other woman with ease.
Aife was convinced that he had potential as he was an experienced fighter.
She was about to step forward as Faum stretched his arm out without looking back, gesturing for her to stop with her ministrations. Aife parted her lips to protest, but as if he sensed disapproval, he shot her a glare. His green orbs were captivating, and no matter how many times their gazes met, Aife still was left awe-struck.
She gave him a court not before crossing her arms again.
Faum dashed towards the squad and shoved nearing men with ease, sliding them across the hall. Women strode towards him with predator's steps, but Faum took everyone off guard once again as he disappeared from his place and appeared behind the women, squatting and stretching one leg out as he round kicked, causing them to fall with a thud.
He jumped across them and threw his sword away as ten men approached him. He wrestled with the first one breaking his arms and kicking him in the guts. Then he jumped up and kicked the other one in the face, knocking him down.
Three of them chased after him as he jumped on the wall to boost himself before backflipping and landing behind them. Then Faum smashed the two of their heads together and crushed his foot into the remaining soldier's face.
The rest five comrades were contemplating whether or not to circle Faum, the great dragon warrior who approved his honors. His green eyes were vicious and determined.
The warrior swung a hook at one and delivering a powerful punch to the other. His jabs were so good they dropped down and blacked out. The three of them bolted in his direction, but Faum kicked the two of them in the air as the third one froze in his place. After Faum scanned the scene and breathed out, the left soldier dropped to his knees begging:
"Please spare me, your majesty. Please."
Faum pursued his lips in distaste, but he gave him a jerk of his head. The remained one ran for his life, and Aife chuckled.
"What's so funny?" Asked Faum, turning to face her.
"You."
"Excuse you?"
"You think that would impress me?"
Faum looked intrigued as he let out a breathy chuckle.
"What's your name?"
"Aife."
Aife was predicting that he would question that name of hers, but he never did. Instead, Faum frowned at the end of the hall and clutched the hilt of the sword.
"Are you a demon?"
"Kinda."
Aife was surprised at Faum's courteous speech, especially if he claimed of his demon origins.
" 'Kinda'? So you are a demon?"
"Show me how you fight, Aife, and then I'll answer your questions."
Aife smirked and adjusted her sword in her hand.
They ran towards the stairs, but two enormous cyclops blocked their way as they braked and decelerated their speed, almost crashing forward into them.
"Cyclops, duck prince demon," mocked Aife as she was about to draw out her daggers but was cut off as Faum jumped on the sidewall and delivered a powerful thump to the Cyclop's eye before landing down the stairs.
Aife gasped as she noticed a bloody and messy hole in the beast's head as the lifeless body dropped and slid down.
The second Cyclop was mumbling something before he dashed towards Aife with giant steps as everything shook with him. Aife took out her daggers and slipped between the hideous creature's opened greasy legs. Swiftly she turned around and shot him the blades which penetrated the coarse skin on his chest and made him groan. Aife drew out her daggers and, as if summoning the souls, returned them to her tight grasp. The cyclop advanced towards her with newly found rage as he roared out his madness.
Aife fidgeted knife in her bandaged left hand and smirked as confidence multiplied in her. The beast was almost an arm away before Aife kicked him into the face in the air and rolled to his side when she landed. In a blink of an eye, she launched her daggers which came alive in the air, and snaked over the monster before grazing his skin and squeezing him.
"Die!" She exclaimed with a crazy grin before the chains pressured him and the cyclop ruptured, splattering the surroundings with maroon liquid.
"Not bad, but you were showing off." Melodic voice stole Aife's attention.
Faum was squatted on the rail, his hands dangling on his knees.
"Just a little," Aife uttered with a bright smile.
She followed Faum as they both left the gloomy hall. Aife was stealing glances at him, but his chuckle made her halt.
"You into guys?"
"Oh, no!"
"Then why are you ogling me."
Faum turned to her, and he made her job to 'act normal' tenfold harder. Aife almost broke in her back as she bent her back outwards to avoid closeness with the orange-haired demon.
"Dragon or demon? They call you both."
Faum opened his mouth but instantly blew up in orange dust.
"WHAT?" Aife screamed with her hands strectched out.
She started chaotically scanning the area to find the demon, but her attempts were futile.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?"
Aife rubbed her mouth in outrage. "What the actual fuck, dude? I almost got him out!"
She started rubbernecking the black and white marble ground in the hope of finding an explanation for the previous incident.
[STOP IT!]
Aife thudded down on the floor as she heard the familiar voice in her head. Her ass was aching, but she couldn't care less about her backside.
"What the…"
[Stop brainstorming, for fuck's sake! I need complete silence.]
"And do what your freaking majesty, act like normal cause handsome man possessed me and I am his vessel? Buhaha!" Aife was throwing her hands and pouting her lips while Faum had a guess of their current situation.
[Well, at least you fathomed that I'm inside you. But I'm curious, though…]
"Curious of what?"
Aife remembered that she was a woman disguised as a man, and any mild thought could devulge the information to Faum. Demons like Faum sought a strong woman to reign over their domains and there was a little doubt Faum wouldn't turn Aife into his little mistress.
[Why is my mate a male?]
"WHAT?"
'I…I am Faum's MATE?! I have a mate, and he is a demon? And what about him being a dragon? What the actual fuck?'
Aife could feel Faum rolling his eyes, and involuntarily she did the same.
[There was a prophecy that the strongest demon was cursed to be absorbed by their mate.]
Aife's eyes were about to jump out of their sockets. 'The strongest demon? Me being his mate? I am a part of the prophecy?'
"I… I…"
[What 'I-I'? You can talk, right?]
Aife could sense Faum's annoyance and distaste of how things worked out, but what about her? She wasn't in any better position.
"Shut up, you jerk. How am I gonna explain that there is a demon up my ass?"
[Technically, it's not so rare for a demon to be up a human's ass, so…]
"Just shut up."
Aife slapped her forehead and slid her hand down her face in disbelief.
"Don't rummage through my thoughts and we are good for now. We WILL NEVER BE GOOD, but you know, alleviate it a bit so we can resolve this headache."
Aife could visualize Faum winking at her as she shuddered, but she tried to shrug off the effect this wicked demon had on her.
[Aife,]
"Yes? Is there something else I need to know?"
[Kinda… Why are you bleeding down there?]
'Why am I bleedin….'
Aife stopped in her tracks dumbstruck as she was reminded of that troublesome time of the month – the period.
