Chapter 2 - 2: raid

"Asea. Asea!" Asea hates the beach. Whenever she finishes lying down by the sand and swimming slightly, she can still feel the waves crashing on her thighs even after days. It's infuriating for her, to say the least.

"Asea, wake up." If her head was throbbing hard a while ago, it's throbbing harder now, like aftershocks of a magnitude 7. Fucking sucks.

"Why the fuck is she not waking up?"

"Can you shut up? Mind your own business." And why the hell is Roo so angry?

"Asea." She felt a warm hand on her cheeks and she flinched, feeling the pain on her head yet again. She quickly lied on her stomach, burying her head on the clean pillow. She sighed heavily as she feels hands again, as she flinches yet again. What the hell is happening on her body? Who the hell keeps touching her?

"Asea." She composed herself and turned to the side. A wall. White. Blindingly white.

Feeling her body, her head feels like breaking into two. She never had a splitting migraine like this before. Where she wants to just cut her head off to make it stop. The cushion under her body is soft. Really soft that her body dips right, shaping her body against the mattress. And the pillow smells of fabric conditioner. "Asea? Please wake up now, we're getting worried." Came Em's worried voice.

Closing her eyes tight, she lifted herself up and flipped herself to sat down the bed. "Great, now that you're awake. Let's talk." She looked around and saw Aeria and Em both sitting next to her on the bed, bodies turned to her.

Jace is looking at the floor pensively as Roo felt on her neck as she flinched for the third time now, checking her temperature. She has no fever, it's a head-splitting migraine. Aeria gave her her glasses and she looked around again. Five men are around them. By the foot of the bed.

The one who talked, is a tall, buff guy with kind, but serious brown eyes and slicked black hair. He commands attention even when not meaning to. He looks hot. Fuck. You're nursing a migraine and you're admiring right now? Wow.

Someone beside him has his mask on his chin, his face slightly exposed to them. Really, no one in here's wearing masks or face shields. His hair is brown and wavy, a small beauty mark under his eyelid, his eyes are stone cold as opposed to the serious, kind ones of the first man. He's wearing a jacket but she knows an alpha when she sees one. Well-built and ripped, which is basic genetic lottery win for alphas, unlike omegas who are built to be leaner and albeit, weaker. Okay, he's fucking handsome, too even though he looks like he hates the world. Fuck you, Asea. Shut up.

The other one, also standing up like the others, has red hair, undercut which makes him seem like a rebel and a very playful guy. And add that to the fact that he seemed to have a permanent smirk plastered on his face, he seemed to be a ladies' man.

And yet, opposite to them and really has his hands on the footboard of the bed, has wide and really bright brown eyes. Like, they're in this whatever it is situation and he still seemed thrilled about something. Kinda reminds her of someone. He has this unique spiky gelled hair dyed black and white that made her brown eyes pop more.

On the last man, her eyes stopped, piercing black eyes reminding her of glowing red, hot coals framed with black-rimmed glasses, hooked nose, thin red lips and short fluffy hair. It opposes him, he has this stone-cold facade to not mess with and yet he has this short, fluffy black hair. Perfect contrast. And on the way his eyes pierced on each one of them, then stopping on her, he looks mad.

"Why the hell are you not speaking?" He asked them coldly and yet, his eyes are directed towards her and her first instinct being in an alpha's presence should be to lower her head and submit. And yet, her head's throbbing and she just called these strangers hot and handsome and she can't deal with people getting mad for no reason.

"If you would be so nice, shut the fuck up because my head's throbbing and you're not helping."

😃😃😃

Aeria's

Aeria tried to stifle her laugh so she tried biting her lips, but even when she did, it was to no avail. Asea can be the politest person ever but not when she's feeling sick. She eyed Em who quickly covered her mouth but she's already shaking in trying to stifle her laugh. "Fuck." Jace whispered and snorted. Asea's line is priceless, she said all that with her uncharacteristically bored and sleepy eyes, because her eyes are always glassy and deep, and her voice low, almost rough because she just came from sleeping. Roo who was just angry a while ago because of the wavy brown haired alpha's probing, closed his eyes in trying to stay angry and not just laugh.

The five men were speechless. They should be, Asea's fucking done and she still have no idea what's happening. Apparently, a while ago, after a strong smoke-smelling scent filled their noses and knocked them out, they woke up here.

It looks like a pretty standard hotel room, with two queen beds. She woke up beside Em who's sandwiched between her and Asea. Jace is lying horizontally by the foot of the bed with Roo lying beside him. They're like bacon strips put inside a pan and it doesn't fit but they tried, that exactly.

"Miss?" She was the first one to wake up, with a voice calling her kindly. When she looked to the side, they were positioned like how they were. She was dumbstruck for a moment because damn, the slicked-back hair looks good to him. Tanned skin, warm eyes, and warm aura. Tall, buff. Hot.

"I have no idea where we are. There's a metal door outside that door and I tried to open it but..." He explained but she can't focus when she has no idea if she's still dreaming or someone's playing a shitty prank on her. Because, all her life, she was attracted to betas or omegas who are feminine-looking. Lean, sometimes lanky. Pale and fair-skinned. Cold-looking. And she used to tell them, alphas are too scary for her. And yet, and yet, this...whoever this warm, tan angel is, decided to ruin that for her.

Her lips were parted and she's straight-up staring at him. The way his lips move, the way his eyes are calm but worried, but still warm. His tone is friendly. And those arms seemed perfect for hugging her, damn, Aeria, what the fuck is happening to you?

Probably just a glitch in the system.

"Uhm...what's your name?" She didn't even realize he was repeating it, his kind eyes staying on hers. "A-aeria. Aeria Su." He smiled lightly and she thought she just felt her heart scream so loud and she wanted to join in. He sat down back on the bed and looked around the room. "Yasser Enrico." He muttered. Yasser, hmm, pretty name.

She sat up and checked the bathroom herself because if she didn't, she wouldn't be able to hide the blush forming on her cheeks on this impossible glitch on her system called Yasser Enrico. Aside from the room itself, the bathroom has no vent or anything. It has a bathtub, though.

It hasn't sunk in yet to her that they were possibly kidnapped and might be killed anytime or send off to a desert to starve by themselves, until the others started waking up.

"Calm down, Ethan. What the hell." The red-haired guy muttered, sitting down on the bed and smiling at her friends and her. The said Ethan guy is trying to kick the metal door repeatedly and yet, even if he's an alpha, he can't even damage the metal door because for one, and only one reason, it's fucking metal. 'Cute but a little idiot.'

Yet seeing him get angry more and more made her nervous. Because of the pheromones which started becoming threatening and the fact that yes, they are trapped here and she should take this seriously. He's no idiot, at least, he's acting very normally. Before the red-haired guy can say anything, she looked at her friends then said, "Shit, we're kidnapped. What do we do?" Fear filled her chest as she tries to be rational in all this yet she can't. How can she?

The salt and pepper-haired guy and Yasser's near them, wondering why they're so silent. They're silent because they're all introverts and all careful planners, except for her and Asea. They're thinking how to approach the situation, letting the others explore the room while they think. While she's here, close to having a panic attack when someone snapped his fingers. She looked at Yasser who sat down on her level on the bed.

His eyes got serious. "Breathe." Her eyes are becoming hazy, blurry even. What was this guy's saying? Fuck, she can't understand anything. The room's getting filled with the threatening pheromones of the alphas and the slightly burning smell of an omega in distress. She, being the omega in distress. "Aeria," She can hear familiar voices but can't tell who.

Someone's warm hand held hers and unfamiliar calming pheromones filled the room as she felt a large wave of fear wash over her. She almost shivered, when her tears started falling down her cheeks. Her chest felt heavy but slowly, her nerves stopped acting up and calmed down. The warm hands squeezing hers as she closed her eyes, leaning back on the headboard as she breathes deeply.

It took her a few more minutes before her head cleared. When she woke up, or snapped out of her hazy reverie, her friends are looking worriedly at her as she looks down her hands, only to find unfamiliar warm ones holding hers. She thought her heart jumped when the hands let her go and she looked up to the alpha who's standing up. Yasser.

"Thank you," Roo told Yasser calmly who just nodded. "She was close to dropping, I was worried." He answered as Emerald's eyes widen, holding her hands in response. She almost dropped? That was the omega drop? They never experienced omega drops before. This was all so new to them.

Jace lets out a shuddering breath as he puts on his palm on his forehead as if calming himself. Aeria would be honest, she's used on seeing Jace to be easygoing and only gets frustrated when he doesn't get the food that he wants or when someone's hating on his favorite things, but it wasn't serious in the first place. Yet, the situation's making her see her Kuya Jace in a completely different light.

Em's worried eyes are fixated on her and she doesn't have the energy to tell her she's fine because she's not. She's worried, too. And these three, Roo, Em, and Jace are trying to grasp the situation silently and be calm and strong so the two younger omegas won't get worried. Part of their silence is the fact that they got trapped in with five other alphas in the same room.

And they were taught, don't get trapped with an alpha. Ever.

Yet, surprise, surprise, they're here.

Roo stood up and looked at the other five males. And that was when the glasses guy from their group looked at them, too then said, albeit commanded, "Wake your friend up, we need to talk."

Her eyes instinctively go towards Yasser who smiled kindly to her, despite the situation they're in. As if he didn't want to be part of the reason why the omega would drop again.

Because after all, if there's one good thing that they were taught, alphas can never stand being around an omega in distress.

😕😕😕😕

Roo's

"Why are you laughing?" The salty wavy-haired man asked, annoyed as Roo sighed again, looking at them seriously, and trying not to think of what Asea just said again. He might not be able to control himself anymore.

"Nothing. Just, if there's no vent maybe we can find things around here to help us?" He asked, going towards the large wooden drawers.

"Like we didn't already check that while you all stare off to space." The salty man sarcastically spat out as he caught Em's usually calm gaze, blink fast at that. The salty man is as it is, rude. Just a while ago, he couldn't help himself and told him off.

He rolled his eyes and opened it again. Aside from the queen beds, there are two wooden drawers in the room. One between the bed, the other near the bathroom door. There's none. He got to the other wooden drawer, too, but of course as they implied, there wasn't anything on the drawers to help them get out. He looked up as Em and Jace look up, too.

Em, and the others wouldn't say it out loud but they may tease Roo a lot, but he's really dependable and smart. He's good with his hands, always the head of the props team on their plays, painting and structuring a lot of things for background or props. He's resourceful, neat, and really good with his hands.

There's nothing. Or there is. "Break it," Jace said, as he tried not to smile at that. Jace read his mind. The lamplight. "What, why? The room would get dark if you do." The salt and pepper-haired guy asked, his eyes widening. Obviously, but if they manage to take the light off, it's connected to something, maybe, just maybe, it will lead them somewhere. Asea started standing up as he looks around. "We can just shout. I think that's a really good idea." The red-haired guy said, smiling playfully. He admires the playfulness, their Aeria almost dropped and yet he's still so calm under pressure.

"Then shout, we'll think." The glasses guy who got shot down by Asea said.

"Kuya Jace, try moving this with me," Em asked Jace, tapping on the wooden drawer. He wanted to laugh at what his friends are doing. They're not even acknowledging or asking for help from the alphas. Jace held on to the other part of the drawer and they pulled it away from the wall. There's none. Jace motioned for him to help out on the drawer when Asea spoke. "Em, here."

She's laying down on her stomach and looking underneath the bed. "What is it?" The salt and pepper haired asked, bending down, too as Asea started clawing underneath. They bent down, too, trying to see what Asea just saw.

Their bags.

Asea and that salt and pepper-haired guy started pulling out their bags as they scrambled for their phones. None. They got their phones but otherwise, everything else is in there. "Fuck, of course. Take out all your belongings." The salty man commanded as they did what they have to. Actually, he just brought his wallet, a cap, spare slippers if ever it rained, and a jacket. So, it's fucking useless.

He looked around and the red-haired guy just smiled. He has no bag with him but his wallet which he got from that slick black-haired guy. "I think, if we're going to get killed later, might as well get to know each other. I'm Ourie Smith." He said, smiling at them as Em looks up and smiled politely. "Emerald." Ourie smiled politely at her and looked at Aeria who seemed to calm down from just a while ago. "Aeria."

"Nice to meet you." Roo loves the fact that he's awfully calm while they try to take out all the things from their bags. "You?" He asked, his eyes on Jace. Jace continued fiddling on his bag. "Jace." He did the courtesy of introducing himself for courtesy purposes and soon-to-be-dying etiquette. 'Fuck, I'm getting infected by this calm guy.' Roo noted that the red-haired alpha's eyes lingered a few seconds longer on Jace. "Roo."

"I'm Trey!" The salt and pepper-haired man said finally. He's smiling happily like he's glad to meet them despite the fucking situation. He eyed his things. A black book, the cover downturned, a roll of socks, hopefully clean, a blue highlighter, a couple of bubble gum packets, deodorant, wax, some expensive perfume, 3 granola bars and protein shake. Messy and simple-minded, interesting.

"What's in your bag?" Trey asked Aeria playfully who pushed the contents of her bag in the middle. A bottle of sanitizer, notebook, pencil case, wallet, tumbler, stickers, her green PSP which she said she plans to take to a repair shop because it wouldn't open, a swiss knife, and of course, her skincare bag. "Oh, can I see?" Aeria was about to say yes when Yasser glared at him, making him pout. Childish. "I just want to see."

"It's fine." Aeria smiled, letting Trey open it like a kid in Christmas opening his gifts. For an alpha, he's the least intimidating alpha here. He's gentle and playful. Unlike the other one who's playful but his calmness is just infectious, almost abnormal but still, maybe that's how he copes, Roo's not here to judge.

Yasser's bag houses a sanitizer, a spare shirt, jacket, cap, swiss knife, wallet, and a small snack bag with lots of biscuits inside. He seemed like he's with kids to have snack bags. Maybe, his metabolism's too fast?

He eyed Jace's belongings. A bottle of sanitizer, of course, since all human population seemed to have realized that we should be clean at all times or they'll run the risk of dying. It's weird, seeing the once disgusting people who couldn't even be bothered to take a bath after a long day at work wash their hands so hard he's actually afraid their hands would start flaking off.

A blue pencil case, sketch pad, notepad, flashlight, wallet, and umbrella. He also has a pringles can and two burgers he bought at Mc Donalds just a while ago, he said, in case he decides to not eat dinner.

"You're so fucking weird, Ethan." Ourie teases, almost sighing at the sight of the salty man named Ethan's belongings. Roo tried not to blink fast at the sight. A small bottle of sanitizer, a large bottle of alcohol, a first aid kit, a box of masks, wet wipes, tissue (rolled and pulls), and a tumbler.

Mysophobia? That's the first thing that crossed his mind seeing that. He thinks being paranoid is one, but this much stuff and the fact that he puts his mask on again while he talks to them made him confirm his beliefs. Salty man is a mysophobe.

Em's belongings which Trey looked earnestly upon each are a sketch pad, pencils, wallet, tumbler, umbrella, hygiene bag, and sanitizer. Trey runs his eyes around the belongings and he seemed to want to ask something to Em who was looking at the belongings before he looked back at his friends. He can see how his mind processed information, ask question? no, i'll get scolded, but i want to ask the question, whatever.

"Can I see?" He asked gently that Em looked back to the bright-eyed alpha. He was pointing at the sketch pad. Em is a kind person, but when she doesn't want just anyone meddling with her things she politely and firmly declines. Like her sketch pad. And yet, there's something about the bright-eyed alpha that made her just nod. His face lit up and he thumbed on the sketch pad, carefully flipping it.

And on every page of her sketches, his eyes sparkle as he oh-ed like he's so amazed on the sketches. "These are so beautiful." He exclaimed while the others are basically arguing with each other with their belongings, Em's eyes flicker brightly as she stays silent, letting the alpha get amazed with her (her words, not Roo's) drawings that are nothing compared to Jace's and Roo's.

"If you haven't dragged me out of my house, I would've gotten my bag." The only guy, the glasses guy, who's not introducing himself groans in frustration at the other four. He seemed panicked, which is a normal way to do in this kind of situation.

"Azrael, stop blaming yourself, that's bad for your health." Tooth-rotting, that's how salty man (salty man fits than Ethan) mocked Azrael, the glasses guy. Azrael, hmm, where did he hear the name? It's familiar? Was it a Greek god?

"Let me. I'll open it." Em called Asea who's struggling with her bag. She can't open it. Maybe it got stuck. When he looked closely, he tried not to frown.

It's padlocked. Of course.

She said, a few months ago that she started locking her bag because she's afraid that someone would just steal her books. Roo wanted to tell her that no one would steal her children's books.

"Why was it padlocked?" Trey asked, putting the sketch pad down carefully. "Why not?" Asea asked softly, watching Em try to tug it off as Jace got it from her. "But why?" Trey asked again.

"So no one would steal things." She said finally yet Roo knows there's more to it that meets the eyes.

She takes out a notebook and pen, two hoodies, a blanket that made them all blink fast. She's going camping again. By herself, what the hell. It's a running joke to them, that she will always bring a blanket because she knows she can't sleep without a blanket. A swiss knife, understandable. A taser that made Azrael sigh. A tumbler. "Why the hell do you have onigiri?" Aeria who can't take the fact that Asea has a fucking onigiri on her bag.

"I just made it last night because there's too much rice." She took out a box of masks that made the salty man stop and look at the young woman with a revered gaze. Like she just lifted Simba on top of her head. 'Your...imagination is running wild again.'

A medium bottle of alcohol, a hygiene bag that she puts on her lap, and a box of candles with a match box taped on it. "Why do you have candles?" Yasser asked, all their faces are weirded out except for Emerald who's close to laughing, and Aeria who wanted to smack Asea's head just because. "Emergency purposes."

"Like blackout?" Jace hopefully supplied. She rolled her eyes. "No. If someone haunts me, I can put up a candle for him to stop." They were silent as she checks her bag again and took out a small box and puts it on her lap again. He didn't ask but she also took out a larger bag than the hygiene bag. "Nothing weird here." She said, putting back the bags on her bag. "Oh, I like you," Trey told her, wide-eyed as Azrael elbowed him in annoyance.

"So...what's this?" Aeria asked, grabbing the box. And before Asea can stop her, she already opened it. It's the small potted cactus Roo gave her.

Now dead.
