Chapter 26 - CHAPTER 25

"WHAT??? THEY ESCAPED??? HOW??? The Dragon Lord was furious. The two guards had fallen asleep, and Trinity was waiting for this moment, and took action. "Who was it charge of the prisoners?" This time his voice had a different kind of anger in it, and the guards cowered in fear.

"Henry and Jason," Marcus replied, looking at the two men who had come with the news.

They knew their fate, and it wouldn't be good.

"You let them escape. You will bring them back; dead or alive." The Dragon Lord had enough of this; first, this girl disrespected him by not bowing before him, then she spoke to him in a tone no one had dared to use before. Now, she escaped with his prisoners. What did she want?

"AAAAAAHHHHHH," The three humans screamed as they fell in what seemed like a pitch black, never ending hole. They couldn't see anything, nor could they figure out what that dragon wanted. She makes a deal to get them out alive, than throws them out through a just melted hot metal bar. All three of them got deep gashes and were burnt and sore, and the wind in their ears was deafening. As if being dragged through the woods for fifteen minutes wasn't bad enough, now they had blood oozing out of their body, the pain being unbearable, and the risk of infection high.

Soon, sharp talons grabbed them, only adding to their misery and they were flying toward God knew where.

Dragonia caught the three of them safely in her hands and was flying towards the place Tyrone had told her he'd be waiting. She could see water beneath her and knew he wouldn't be far.

Before getting out, the guards had seen her escaping with the prisoners and by now, the dragon lord must have been notified, and he won't sit by watching himself get betrayed.

Just as she was thinking about that, she felt a huge fireball coming her way, and she missed it by inches. Looking back, she saw around five dragons, flying behind her and she dodged fireballs, water balls, rocks and tornadoes, all barely missing her. She had to fly in zigzag patterns, but her back was suddenly hit by a huge boulder, and she howled in pain. She knew she couldn't take them all by herself, the humans safety being her first priority, but the hit had slowed her down. She turned back and sprayed fire at them, only for the attackers to answer by more fire and water. She needed her help. 'Ty, I need your help. I'm under attack.'

As she finished her mindlink she saw a huge brown dragon, followed by a brown and black one and a rainbow colored dragon. She felt something beneath her, and glancing down, saw a pair of ice-blue dragons, swimming towards the attacking dragons. They launched a surprise attack by raising out of the water and spraying them. As if on queue, the brown-black dragon began firing rocks which was pushed through the water and on the enemy. Dragonia could hear one of them howl in pain. Drake reached his mate and flew to her back to see the injury. There was a deep wound on her left hind leg, which was bleeding.

The night air was filled with the roars of dragons and flapping of wings, the light of fire and the tsunami of water and rocks appearing and falling, causing massive waves and earthquakes. Trinity wondered if all the mysterious rocks that could be found scattered around in places could be because of dragons. And the mystery of the pyramids; some say aliens built it, but could it be dragons who made it?.

'I need you to turn back' Tyrone mindlinked his mate.

'But... them?' she gestured towards the humans.

'Trust me'

Trinity closed her eyes, and let herself calm down. Suddenly she was falling, only to be gently caught by Drake; while Eric, Susan and Abigail were caught by the rainbow dragon

The other dragons fought as Drake, followed by the rainbow dragon, flew to safety.

Trinity didn't know who was winning, but hoped that it was them. 'Where are we going'.

'Somewhere safe'.

As dawn broke through the darkness, the attackers quit, as it was a rule made by the Dragon Lord himself that no matter the situation, you must turn into your human form, and return back. Trinity and the others knew they would be back, as the dragon lord doesn't give up.

They stopped by the rivers edge to rest and tend to their wounds. Trinity was healing by now and felt much better, but Eric, Susan, and Abigail were looking bad. Their wound was deep. They needed medical assistance.

Stacey was sitting by her friend and telling her about what happened while she was in the dungeons, "After he sentenced you as the one to guard these three, the training was stopped and that's when Tyrone came to Martha and I..."

"Martha, we need to talk. It's important," Tyrone said, as Martha was still tending to the wounded dragons.

"I'm busy Tyrone. Can't this wait?" Martha replied, without looking at him.

"It is about Trinity." Martha looked at him. "She's in the dungeon with three humans," Tyrone continued. "And she needs our help."

"Where's Stacey?" Martha asked.

Stacey slowly made her way to Martha, her chest bleeding.

"Trinity thinks that The Dragon Lord might be the knights dragon. She will escape with the three people and I'm going to meet Mr King. Maybe he can help us; and if she's caught, she will need your help, because we both know she'll be killed."

"He is acting very suspicious," Emeralda said from behind him. "Esmarald is in hospital because he just needed to use the restroom, but wasn't allowed."

"And there are so many of us in hospital. It's not normal," Dr Elise said from behind Martha.

"What is your plan?" Martha asked.

"I told her to escape after midnight, when she's sure the guards are asleep. She will burn away the iron bars and fly out with the humans. We'll wait for them at the small clearing by the lake."

"It sounds like a plan. My brother and i will also join you," Emeralda said.

"No you're not. Uncle Sea will kill me if anything happens to you two."

"You mean him..." The pale girl pointed a finger towards her very injured father, who seemed to be in coma. Beside him lay his wife, also hurt, with whip marks all over.

"Well... I can't argue there."

"We'll join you too, won't we Stacey, " Martha said.

The girl nodded happily, "Yes."

"May I come too?" Dr Elise asked.

"You will stay here and see what plan is made by him," Martha said.

Just as Stacey was finishing her story, they heard the others arrive. One new member was also with them, a greenish blue dragon.

"They need medical assistance," Trinity told Dr Elise, as all of them turned back to their human forms.

The doctor quickly made her way to the humans, and observed them one by one. She had bought a first aid box, and she and Martha cleaned their wounds and applied anti bacterial creams, before bandaging them up. "This will keep any infection at bay... now let me see you," she said, turning towards Trinity.

"Good news, you're healing; bad news, it's very slow. We need to get somewhere safe where we can rest and gain our strength, because almost half of the dragons are fully healed, while the others won't take long to join them," she told everyone.

"I really appreciate all this, but just out of curiosity, who's watching the dragons who are still in bed?" Trinity asked Dr Elise. As far as she knew, doctors took an oath to treat sick people and help them, then how could she leave her patients alone?.

"Don't worry, my assistant is looking after them. He's a well qualified doc too, so he jumped at this opportunity."

They all made their way to the first house they saw by the water. A mango tree stood near the waters edge, and the house nearly hundred meters away. A nostalgia swept over Trinity as they all hurried to the house.

Tears ran freely, and her heart beat increased as Trinity reached the door. The doorbell buzzed, as her eyes waited to see the only parent she had left.... "Hey mom!"
