Syraah and Orion moved as quickly as his body would allow. His weight felt heavy on her body. She wasn't used to holding up someone so heavy, but she needed to get him to the healing pool quickly and walking on his own wasn't possible with his injuries.
Heading to the healing pool was a risk, but with his wounds bleeding and affecting his ability to move freely, she had no choice. She needed to stop his blood loss now. Kahtri would most likely follow them or send someone to do his work for him. Either way, they needed to be careful.
"You do not have to do this, Syraah." He said through his groans from the pain shooting through his body.
"This is my fault. It is my fault they hurt you. I have to fix this. I have to help you." She said almost out of breath.
"You need to help your people. I am not one of you." He stopped and moved away from her, bracing himself on a tree.
