Zia stopped in front of Arlon's door already prepared for the worst. She looked at Zane with wide eyes as though hoping he would save her from her dreaded fate, but she knew he couldn't.
"I will be right outside. If anything happens, call for me. I will help you. Zane assured her. Zia nodded in agreement, but he could see the fear in her eyes. What could he do against Arlon? She wondered.
As he opened the door to let her into the room, another guard walked up to and whispered in his ear. The other guard motioned for Zia to go ahead into the room as he continued speaking with Zane.
Zane said something to the guard and the guard replied in way that seemed as though he was scolding him. She couldn't clearly hear anything they spoke about, but the body language was not very peaceful between them.
