-1 week after the Day Of The White Chrysanthemum-
The Day Of The White Chrysanthemum had started gaining popularity extremely quickly when a few of the heroes reported their findings during the raid.
There was a large discussion amidst the heroes on whether the things they say become public knowledge, but the eventually decided to make it known.
Either option would negatively impact UA, but not saying anything would have an even worse impact if, no, when, the truth is exposed.
Jokara was labelled a top priority villain. Anyone who saw him was to report it as soon as possible.
They even went as far to put a bounty on anyone who manages to capture him. This also attracted villains to try their luck. Many of them started working to form large groups to fight the hero turned villain.
The students of UA were some of the most affected about the news. Confusion, horror and shock were the most prominent emotions. These reactions weren't specific only to 1-A. All other classes were affected, and so was everyone else in the school, teachers included. Even the thought of something like this happening with someone, especially someone so young, was already a depressing scenario just to imagine. It was far worse now, as it was now a reality.
But the most interesting reaction was that of the boy's adoptive family. They were all torn between what to choose. Their adoptive son, or their title.
They had spent days in thought of it. They tackled with their morals, their teachings, and their emotions, all looking for a conclusion on what to do.
They reached one on the fourth day. It was a decision that was tough for them because of what they were taught and what they had taught themselves for years about hero work and what they were meant to do with it.
They wouldn't go after him. They also wouldn't mention him having All For One to the heroes, villains or the public at all. It was an extremely difficult choice to make, as they knew that many more would die by his hands and that the damage caused could potentially be minimized with such information, but they couldn't do it. They still cared too much about him, and every second that passed with them knowing that their boy was the top priority villain of all of Japan caused them incredible pain.
He had been missing for the whole week. Well, missing was only the term used because he wasn't physically sighted. But over the course of the week, hundreds of villains had turned up dead. Heroes didn't kill, villains fighting and killing each other was rare, and it obviously wasn't the work of a civilian. Take the fact that the deaths began rising the literal next day of the Day Of The White Chrysanthemum already told everyone the one doing it, but he still hadn't been sighted doing it even once.
And what was the boy of discussion doing right now?
Spending his 9th birthday on rooftops.
-Jokara POV-
And so marks the end of the first week of me being known as a villain.
I would be lying if I said I had absolutely zero care about it. I felt bad for the pain my parents must be going through, and Miruko was also most likely in bad spirits.
But it's becoming more and more clear that I can't live among people. It's not even something about the city dwellers, I was exactly the same in the tribe.
One good thing to come out of this is that I have all the time to spend training. In this week, I've improved on many things since I can also train the stolen quirks without having to worry about breaking my cover.
For starters, I had found a way to use the bioluminescence quirk to create sudden bursts of light to blind opponents, like a flashbang.
When it came to progress on Fire Coat, I had made some good advancements. First of all, I could cover both arms at the same time. I also was able to make the fire cover my whole body if I wanted to, hair included, covering me completely in a fiery armour.
I had also gotten physically stronger from finally adapting to the 1 ton weight setting on the weights I got from Miruko. I would now be able to move to higher weight settings as well.
That was the progress I had made in terms of power.
And, as if my mental health couldn't get any worse, I have been struggling more and more to get any sleep. It takes over ten times more effort to fall asleep than it ever did before.
I've also been resorting to killing city creatures for food. Any creature that I come across is fair game. Dogs, cats, stuff like that. My survival is my biggest priority, after all. I'll also take any food left out as long as it's safe to eat.
I would have continued hunting for the day, but I was exhausted, and I needed rest. I got down onto the hard concrete of the rooftop and told Ryujin to keep guard while I tried to get some rest.
This is my life now.
(Short chapter, I know. I want to get back to playing video games so I can unwind for tomorrow and the weekend, but I just wanted to leave you guys something before I do that. So here you go.)
(Also, holy fucking shit. You guys are incredible! This book, as of writing this, has 516.8 K views! I started this book only one month ago! I didn't think it would even get 100 views!
