Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: Prologue

"Borden, you're a burden."

The leader of a group of five said to one of the members, a young black-haired man.

"Bu-"

"No buts, you're incompetence has been holding us back. I believe that its in the group's best interest that your services are no longer required."

"Yes, the leader is right."

"Come on, Borden, it's high time for you to stop trying to keep up with us"

"You're just a mere F ranker. Go home."

The other members nodded in agreement as they voiced out their opinion, the accumulation striking down on Borden's heart, filling him with despair and self-pity.

However, at that moment, suddenly a large vase fell from the sky and crushed the 4 people into meat paste, leaving only Borden alive as he was a few distance away from the group when they were confronting him.

"What the f!@#" Borden could not even properly react at the sudden change in the situation. Looking at the giant vase before him, he could only gaped in awe.

It was of a large radius, that even if five people were to hug it, arm-to-arm distancing, it would only cover about slightly more than half of the vase's circumference. Perhaps a cauldron, would be a more suited name to it. However, the surface of this red container was adorned with flower-like designs which made Borden reluctantly accept it as so.

Borden looked about the vase, its height as big as a tree that towered over him. He wondered what was contained inside it, his mind already forgotten the fact that there were four people crushed to dead underneath it.

"Hahaha we made it... Exactly as I planned. Come on, praise me!!"

A loud laughter echoed out from the top of the vase as the confident voice of a male full of glee could be heard.

"Yea, right! If you could call rushing through an army of veteran mages and daoists a plan, then anyone would succeed in life." A shrill voice sounded out in exasperation with a hint of irritation as it continued, "And now look, where did you get us to?".

"Does it matter? We are free from our pursuers. What's there to worry about, granny?"

"Stop calling me granny!!"

"But you're more than hundred years old."

"But I'm an elf."

"But I'm a racist."

Borden had a strange expression on his face as he was the audience of this argument. He took a step back as he thought that it would be better to get away from this mess but then the voice echoed again, but this time directed towards him.

"Ok ,ok, let us stop. Look our guest is afraid of us and is about to leave."

"Oh shit!" Borden's heart thumped wildly as he thought, "Are they gonna kill me?"
