I have been walking for quite awhile, now I have come across an intersection. I can either go left or right which is a rather difficult choice. Although I do believe it would be the best choice to go right, you can't be wrong if you're right!
Yet again I have been walking for an extremely long time. The walls, floor, and ceiling still haven't changed in pattern, except for the occasional moss growth or mushroom patch. There are differences in the dampness of the floor that leads me to believe I'm reaching a heavily populated area. I haven't come across a room in what seems like half a day, so I might end up just sleeping in the halls, as unfun as that sounds.
Finally, I reach a new door. The door is the same dark wood, a small amount of green moss growing on the front. It is extremely tempting to just rush in after all of this walking, hoping to be able to do something other than counting the lines that I've passed.
I peek into the room after drilling a small hole into the door using the stone knife I have had with me since the first room. I see a rather well kept area, compared to what I've seen before. This is more like the initial tavern, it looks like humans made it. I see the corner of a small shack made out of some sort of hide and stone. I also see a large shack made of the same hide, stone, but this time along with wood.
I might as well head in. What do I get for waiting here other than more possible dangers?
The door is rather light and feels like it might fall apart if I slam it shut, or even if I open it roughly. There is no door handle nor lock as if there was I would have just looked through the keyhole.
Either way procrastinating won't help in any situation, at least not right now. I push the door open gently and prepare my axe for its job. The room is filled with small shacks. There are also two stone boxes in two different corners of the room.
Most of the buildings are made of the same stone as everything else I have seen, an ominous shade of dark grey. I can hear the crackling of fire, water dripping from the ceiling, excitable goblins partying by what I assume is the fire, and humans screaming and crying for help.
I feel as if I've heard this type of thing before. I don't know where though maybe if I find the source I might be able to figure it out.
I walk further into the room carefully, using the walls of the small shacks as a hiding place. I approach the loud noises to find a large amount of goblins around a fire. It seems to be around 50. I can't see any large goblins, so maybe this will be a walk in the park?
Now that I look closer I can see that they are cooking something over the fire, around five people, all are naked and being roasted over an open flame. . . I can now see why they were screaming. . .
I feel warm.
I woke up covered in monster blood. I can see around 50 bodies, goblin bodies. I can feel the pain of the wounds I must have gotten. The fire seems to have burned out, although the people are completely charred. At Least they weren't eaten.
The ground is sticky, I guess all of the goblin blood dried in such an interesting manner. The remains that coat the floor reminds me of the compost I would take out to the pigs after a hunt. Now that I think about it I'm not even slightly hungry.
The area smells of human blood more than goblin remains. Luckily there is no red blood stained into my axe, just purple. Either way I should probably keep moving, I don't want to get "caught with my pants down." as the older kids would say.
Now that I think about it, most of the little shacks have been knocked down. Maybe I should check out one of the stone rooms? Sure.
I walk up to one of the stone rooms, the smaller one. It seems to be a little protected, at least it was as there are dead guards standing outside the two entrances. There are two doors I could take, one seems to be a pantry or farm as on the door it shows what seems to be meat, the other is a bed so maybe it's a sleeping area?
I might as well as go into the sleeping area to make sure none survived what happened earlier; and no, I don't know what happened. I assume I just got really mad and passed out like the kids at the orphanage say happens, although that doesn't explain all of the bodies. Either way, no point in wondering right now.
I open the door to an area I assume to be a sleeping place. Wait, why would the goblins need another sleeping area other than the shacks? Oh.
It smells worse than anywhere I have been yet. It's so horrid that I vomited as soon as I opened the door. Let alone the smell that's so indescribable I won't even try to, it's a very dim room, I can see what seems like dozens of women, young to old, some seem to be dead.
Most of them are bloated with who knows what, almost as if they're pregnant. Some seem to be covered in fecal material or dirt, one of the two. All of them seem to have some kind of wound, one a broken leg, another missing a few fingers and then charred at the base of the wound, a few have cuts on their arms, face, legs, and even torso.
It seems I may have forgotten to mention them all being nude. I don't know exactly why but that's how it is. None of them react to me entering the room. Well one does but it's just them crying. They have been through a lot.
I feel very conflicted at the sight of them. Should I just put them out of their misery or try and help them? Maybe I should check out the other room first.
I enter the room that seems to be either a farm or food storage. The smell here isn't as abhorrent as the other room, this one is filled with young men, some are missing entire limbs, or have long strips of flesh cut out, others are cut in half and dead.
I have decided to put them all out of their misery as survival wasn't really worth this much torment. As I have no god to pray to yet, it will be quite the sad deed; just think about it, you go through all of this suffering and you don't live a peaceful afterlife. I will still pray even if it may be useless.
As I finish praying I start executing them one by one, they don't scream out in pain so let's hope this is what they wanted. It is gruesome but this is what I would have wanted if I was in their position.
I didn't only free the men, the women too. They were the same, no screaming. Except for the one that started crying initially, they seemed to have just gotten there. She's an elegant young lady with brown hair and orange eyes, probably years older than me. She would have probably lived a good life, if these vile creatures didn't mess it up.
Either way I should probably keep moving, I think I should go to the closest door which is the one on the right of me when I come out of what I assume to be the food storage. Just so I can get this horrid area over with as soon as I can.
Of course, you already know what the door opens up to, a long corridor made out of the same extremely dark grey stone. But this time the air smells of moss along with the full toilet like smell. Some green moss can be seen growing on the walls, different types by the look of it.
I may be in this hall for a while so maybe I should head back and get some food and water? Yeah, why not?
I turn back around to head back through the doors to the previous room. I might as well take a few goblin chunks with me after charring and maybe a bucket of water after quenching my already enormous thirst.
I then, after getting done with all of my preparations, start to walk through the corridor once again. This long hall is filled with vegetation compared to the other two.
If you told me it was the same place I wouldn't believe you. Unlike the previous halls, this one is lit with glowing plants instead of the occasional torch hanging on the wall. I feel more at ease here then any of the other halls, at least I think that's what it is.
Who would have thought; this might be the exit as I see almost as many mice here as when I was in the prison cell. It may just be another prison too though.
I finally reach a door, this door is made of stone and covered with moss. In front of the door there is a skid mark from it opening making me assume that it isn't abandoned. I may be waiting for a fight by staying out here.
Well either way I might as well wait here for a little while. It wouldn't hurt to relax a little, especially so if it's right before a big battle.
It has been around a half day since I have gotten here. I think it is night, so now might be the best time to move. I get up and stretch. I have been sitting in the corridor that is around one cart in length in quite the uncomfortable position for quite some time now. So it wouldn't hurt to limber up a bit.
The door is a little heavier than I expected leading me to grunt a little as I open it. I sure hope I didn't wake anything up, or alert them if they were already awake. Now that the door is opened I hear disgusting giggling noises along with screams or faint crying.
I feel uneasy to the point it's a gross feeling. I don't want to know what's happening here after seeing the last room. Maybe moving during the night wasn't the best move.
The door is fully opened now, this area is filled with fields of mushrooms. More small stone shacks fill the area, these ones covered in moss and mushrooms. A small creek and waterfall spreads across the entire room.
This is a rather scenic area, something anyone could enjoy going a stroll through. If only these disgusting noises weren't happening everywhere around. It smells rather damp, along with the rancid smell of goblins and the metallic smell of human blood.
As I walk through the door I notice that there are two different large buildings, one filled with giggling goblinoids, the other is silent completely. I prefer going to the silent building before the extremely lively building, as it may just be an easier time.
I know I haven't said this yet but the room is quite massive. To the point that trekking across one side to the other might just take a day by itself.
The building that I approached, the quiet one, goes up around five of me; so I assume it might just be two floors. It is extremely lacking on windows, or even decorations on the outside. Just a box of the dark stone and a medium sized door with a lock on it. The one thing outside of the large building is a small shack filled with tools.
I found a key after looking in the small shack for a little while, interestingly the shack's tools are only made out of wood along with a few wooden buckets. Either way none of that matters, It's time to see what they were locking inside of the large building.
The key fits rather nicely into the lock on the door, as I turn it the lock makes an extremely satisfying clicking sound. The door is yet again rather heavy, as I push it open I can smell something that reminds me of when my elder siblings worked in the field all day without bathing for an entire week.
The building is filled with humans, no decorations, no clothing even. It's a lot worse than the other room. Most are males, some are female, some of the males are on top of the females which I don't get.
Most of them are missing limbs, like the arms, for some reason none are missing legs here, contrary to the other room. Half of the people in here are dead, the other half wounded. Some are crying in corners, or balled up and rocking back and forth.
I might as well ask them if they are okay, even if I already know the answer to that question.
"Hello? Is everyone alright? At least for the current situation?" I ask out to the extremely full room in an innocent voice as that is the best way to take this situation.
"Do we look ¨Alright¨ to you? Huh kid?" An older man in the front asks, obviously not doing the best given one of their eyes is missing.
"How did you even get in here without goblins dragging you in and unlocking the door?" Another wounded man asks, this one much younger with brown hair and green eyes, more muscular than the older man, they seem like they may have been a soldier. The wound they bear is a missing arm, his shoulder is charred to keep him alive instead of allowing him to bleed out like others in the room.
"I just found a key and tried it on the door." I respond in all honesty to all of the survivors' dismay. The ones riding each other have stopped, and nearly everyone has crowded around the entrance.
"Now that I think about it," one of the younger members of the group speaks up. "You are even wearing clothes! How did you get in here?"
Yet again I speak truthfully, as I should. "I woke up in a jail cell loosely bound, then I got free, picked up a bone, and fought my way here."
Now that I look at them all they seem a little bit malnourished, skinny and losing muscle. I am extremely curious as to what the goblins feed them, if anything.
"How!!!" A large majority of the group yells out. I don't get it all that much as there are only goblins, and a few larger ones. "Did you even get wounded once?" They yet again shout out almost as if they were scared.
"Yeah, a few times." I tell honestly, although I wouldn't call something that heals in a single hour a wound.
They all seem to let out a sigh of relief before tensing up once again. "So why are you here?" They ask with fear in their voices once again. I understand I have a strange eye colour but that doesn't mean they should fear me as if I were a monster.
Then again if I were to be saved by a strange kid after being in this area for who knows how long I would also be scared. The kid is alone, and claims to have fought their way to this room after all.
"Well, I am just trying to find a way out of this den, along with killing monsters as I search." I once again say with full honesty. "If anyone wants to leave with me then please do."
A large majority of the group decides to leave the singular building and pick their choice of tool from the shed, while some of them choose to stay inside the large room.
The group starts heading toward the much more active building, weapons at the ready. The noises are seemingly grotesque, the type you would hope to never hear. The smell is almost bad enough to knock people out.
As I walk up to the door with around 50 people behind me, I gently try to push open the door. To my disbelief the door was unlocked. I ask if everyone is ready, they all slightly nod their heads.
I kick open the large wooden doors to around a mass amount of both goblins and humans. Both are naked. The goblins atop the humans. The humans are all women and the goblins all seem to be the same gender as me. Disgusting.
