Chapter 16 - Homophobes Causing a Scene

[22nd December]

After what had happened with Rikki, the date seemed like a burden to me. I still had much to ponder about. But I didn't have the courage to tell Jay that, especially when he looked so bright next to me right now. He had the giddiest smile I've seen on him as he bounced in his seat to the beat of the song playing on the radio. I resolved to put aside the problem.

"What are we going to do again?" I asked for the third time since I've gotten into his luxury car.

Jay would only grin at me and say, "It's a surprise." I sighed softly before nodding to his words. Surprises weren't my thing because I wouldn't know what to expect and that was nerve-wracking.

"Are you okay? You don't seem great. I can send you home if you're not up for the date," Jay glanced at me with care. I shook my head.

"I'm just nervous," I patted his biceps. He grinned before turning to focus on the road, pressing on the brakes when the light shone red.

-

I watched as Jay keypunched a code into a machine before the door gradually spun open. I stepped back and gawked at the huge doorway in awe. What did I expect? His house was literally located on top of a hill!

"My parents are never really home when I am. They are always at work," Jay wandered along the corridor. I sheepishly followed behind, the floor lights turning on as we stroll past. I felt so tiny as I gazed up at the high ceiling of his house. This was only the ground floor?!

"Make yourself at home. The stylist will arrive anytime soon," I nodded, taking a seat at the edge of his plush bed. I watched Jay take off his blazer and drape it on a gold rack in the corner of his room. It was kind of chilly so I kept mine on. I swung my legs deliberately and roamed my eyes around his room. I was absolutely in love with his dark interior bedroom, an industrial-style lamp hung from his tall ceiling.

"Your room is really nice," I blurted out and Jay turned around with a smirk.

"It's yours now too," he removed his wristwatch before arranging it on his nightstand. He then rested next to me on the bed. A brief moment of silence fell between us. I got shy about what would happen next.

"Are you tired?" he suddenly asked. "H-huh?" I whipped my head at him.

"Oh, not really," he sighed softly and shifted to lay down on the bed. I hadn't realized he had his hand on my blazer when he gently pulled me down with him.

"Oof-" my head landed on his spread-out arm and he hummed in content.

"Let's nap for a while before he arrives,"

"...we won't do anything else?" I hesitantly asked, tilting my head to look at him. His hands moved to play with my hair. It felt really pleasant.

"I won't do anything unless you want me to," he nonchalantly said with his eyes still closed. I nodded at his response and turned to stare at the ceiling.

A short melodious tune echoed around the house shortly after. Jay softly groaned before sitting up from his bed. My eyes subconsciously strayed to Jay's thighs just to see how they flexed when he stood up. I then averted my gaze with a light blush.

"I'll go get him," I watched his figure disappear behind the door. I immediately sat up, hair tousled and disheveled. He was so muscular!

Oh, God. I was so down bad!

The light voice of a man began filling my ears minutes later, Jay's attractive laugh following after. The doorknob twisted.

"This is my boyfriend," Jay promptly introduced and I hurriedly got up from the bed to greet the stylist, fixing my uniform not so subtly afterward.

"Oo la la!" the stylist whistled before pulling down his cat-like glasses to have a better look at me. He began pacing around me and I glanced at Jay with raised brows. He reassured me with a smile.

"You have such a nice body!" the stylist suddenly smacked my shoulders, causing me to jump in surprise.

"Oh, thank you,"

"Been working out, eh? Anyway, call me Rey," Rey held his hand out with a devilish grin.

"My name is Johnny," I shook his hand. I watched as Rey quickly turned to Jay's castle-like walk-in wardrobe.

Come on, Jay even had see-through sliding doors for it!

"Now, I would've brought a few of my own inventions for you to choose from, but my sidekick here preferred if you wore clothes of his own," I glimpsed at Jay, mouthing 'sidekick?' he chuckled as he wandered to my side.

"He's a well-known fashion designer for exhibitions and numerous shows. I tag along sometimes," he winked at me before turning to watch Rex do his magic.

"Hm, looking at your skin tone," Rex hummed. I glanced at my arm for reference.

"You'd look splendid in black! Well, everyone looks desirable in black but that's beside the point!" he removed a glossy jacket from the rack before hurrying over to me.

"Try this on,"

"Just that?" Jay asked. Rex raised a brow at him.

"Yes, are you questioning my excellent taste, my boy Jay?" Jay immediately shook his head.

"No, it's just...nothing inside?" he pointed to the jacket.

Rex smirked. "Why, are you anxious?" Rex turned around after letting out a mischievous laugh. Jay and I glanced at each other.

"Yes, nothing inside. Just the jacket and oh-this is marvelous!" Rex returned with a pair of leather pants and a chain belt.

"Try this on. Go!" he slapped my back before beckoning me to Jay's bathroom. I rushed towards the toilet.

"And as for you, Jay,"

Locking the door, I looked around in wonder. I was pretty sure it was the size of Johnny's bedroom. He even had a bathtub, for crying out loud! I turned to his basin and my eyes widened at the number of skincare products Jay possessed on his counter. No wonder his skin was soft like a baby's.

"Johnny? You okay in there?" a few knocks sounded from the door. I quickly recognized the voice as Jay's.

"Yeah, I'll be out in a minute!" I looked at myself in the mirror, not so sure if this was an appropriate outfit for our first date. I cracked open the bathroom door to reveal Jay standing across me, already in his designated outfit.

He softly gasped, mouth opening and closing like a fish's. I chuckled, walking over to him as I smoothened my jacket. "Wow," Jay finally breathed out, eyes still raking over my figure.

"You look great," I told him before glancing away, slightly flustered. Jay was dressed in a white translucent mesh turtleneck under a black satin blouse and a pair of black leather pants similar to mine.

"Now, now lovebirds. These will be your shoes," Rex sashayed towards us with two pairs of boots in his hands.

He passed me the pair of David Stone Terror Walker 2 that I have been eyeing since Rex had opened Jay's closet. Jay sighed in satisfaction when he was given the 2976 Chelsea Boots. "I've been wanting to wear these for so long but I never thought it would match any of my outfits," he chuckled, taking a seat on the bed to put the boots on.

"For your accessories, Jay has a ton! I'd say even more than me. Any of it will go along with your outfits so you can pick it out yourself." Rex gestured to the wardrobe.

"I'm pleased with my outfit," I told Rex who smirked boastfully as he swept his pink mullet back.

"As you should,"

-

"Nah, this restaurant, Jay? The water here costs like twenty bucks," I glanced at the shimmering building with doubt.

"You've seemed to forget who your boyfriend is, Johnny. You need not worry," I turned to him with a raised brow but he only smiled, tugging me to the host at the front of the restaurant.

"After all," he did a handshake with the host who seemed thrilled at Jay's presence.

"I own this place."

"What-?" Jay simply grinned, intertwining my fingers with his before escorting me further into the premises.

"You...own this place?" I repeated, glancing around the castle-like interior of this building. I felt like I was in Hogwarts.

"Well, my father did pay for most of the building's expenses, but I was the one who did the creative works of this place,"

"Creative works?" I blinked in confusion.

"The interior, food, lighting fixtures...those kinds of stuff,"

"Oh," I nodded. It made me question what Jay would want to pursue in the future.

But then again, he probably already had it planned out for him.

Individuals passed by us and slowed their steps to admire our outfits. We did come in informal attire rather than the usual suit and tie. The majority of the elderly folks shook their heads disapprovingly as they gawked at our interlaced hands. I glared back at them for that. They nimbly looked away and rushed off.

"Whoa, calm down," Jay laughed at me.

"What? They were staring," I rolled my eyes before turning to glimpse them over my shoulder.

"There's a lot of old-fashioned people here. It's common," we stopped in front of a table for two.

"It's really crowded here," I muttered, taking a seat. Jay looked up at me with concern.

"Would you like if I got us a table somewhere quieter? I can easily arrange that-"

"No! It's okay. I was just saying," I stopped him, lifting the menu on the table.

"You've done a lot already. It's fine, Jay," I smiled at him before turning to the menu, already screeching inside at the hefty prices.

"Johnny, you know I'd do anything for you to be comfortable,"

"Jay, as long as I'm with you,

I'm always comfortable," I reassured him. I was genuinely surprised to see a blush crawl up his face. He rushed to hide his face behind his hands.

"Awe! Are you shy?" I teased, leaning in to try and drag his hands away.

"Don't tease me," he put his palms down onto the tablecloth before looking away, a faint pink still evident on his cheeks.

Faint snickers were heard from beside us. I glanced at the table next to us to see a group of well-dressed teenagers side-eyeing Jay and me as they let out suppressed laughs. I didn't think much of it and proceeded to study the menu. "So, what are you getting-"

"Look at those twinks dressed like they're on the way to some gay bar after this," one of them remarked, earning a few laughs from their table.

I was very sure they were chatting about us.

I peeked at Jay. He still had a smile on his face as he looked at the menu in delight. I cleared my throat and opened my mouth to speak to Jay. "Jay," he looked up at me with the most heart-warming smile. It almost made me forget about the group of youngsters.

"Yes-"

"Er, I hope they don't lay a finger on me. I don't want their gay diseases," another one added, causing their table to erupt into laughter. They promptly hushed each other when they started receiving looks from other tables. I saw Jay's eyes twitched.

"Should we change tables? We're literally in their radius-"

"Maybe you should leave this restaurant as a whole," Jay interrupted with a dominant tone, slowly turning to glare at the group.

"W-what did you say?" the boy nearest to us glanced at his peers, taken aback.

He was the one who opened his mouth about us in the beginning.

Jay began to rose from his seat. I blinked at him in surprise. "Jay?"

"For someone embellishing garments that cost thousands, everyone would've thought you'd just be as well educated as to the way you dress," Jay wandered towards their table with his hands behind his back. He fixed his gaze on the boy with the coldest expression.

"But it's so evident you've never been overburdened by intelligence," Jay gave him a soft, condescending smile. His peers gasped and so did I, well in merriment of course.

"You menacing little-" irked and humiliated, the boy surged a fist at Jay. He caught it like a piece of cake.

Jay laughed dryly. "Calling me and my boyfriend twinks with gay diseases?" he scoffed, tightening his grip on the boy's hand. The youngster's face scrunched up in agony as he let out noises for Jay to let go of him.

"Not only do you need tutoring, but some self-defense classes would also work well for you," Jay turned to the other boy who had appended to the insult earlier. He immediately lowered his gaze before fumbling for the hands of the girl next to him in alarm. Jay watched him with a smirk.

"Oh?"

"Are you scared I'd steal your little girlfriend from you?" Jay chuckled as he firmly released the other boy's hand to walk to the girl, running his fingers through his hair in the process. I swore I heard the girl let out a small squeal.

"Say, princess," Jay leaned in to get a better look at her.

"What is your grade ranking?"

"Uhm-second out of two hundred and one..." the girl stuttered as she stared at Jay in wonder.

"And you chose to settle for a homophobe?" Jay raised a brow at her. The boy dared not say anything. The other four teenagers just watched in silence.

"Tch, you can do better," Jay stood up straight and returned to our table. He waved a waiter over. "Jay-"

"Oi! Do you know who I am?!" the first boy abruptly rose from his seat. He was seething with hatred. Jay simply hummed and turned to look at him with an unimpressed look.

"No, who are you to be exact?" the boy's peers suppressed laughs.

"You-" the boy scoffed in disbelief as he ran his fingers through his hair that was neatly gelled earlier.

"My father is the general manager of this restaurant and my mother is the kitchen manager. They can get you kicked out with a snap of my fingers," I stifled a laugh at his argument. The boy turned to me at that.

"What are you giggling at! This place has a high-security system, I'll have the both of you dragged away right this instant!" he snapped and I casually let out a laugh.

"Hey," Jay called him, tone intimidating. The boy lightly jumped.

"I asked you who you were," Jay signaled a couple of buff guards over before walking closer to the boy.

"Not your mother and definitely not your father," the boy was confounded when the escorts started seizing his arms.

"What?!" the boy was bewildered as he fought in their hold. At this point, the entire restaurant was already watching us.

"Kick him out! Not me!" he screeched at the guards who didn't budge one bit. As they hauled the boy out of the building, Jay waved at him with a radiant smile.

"I hope your day is as pleasant as you are! Best regards," Jay smirked at the boy.

"The owner of this house."
