I wish the ground would swallow me
Realising what he was up to, I loosened his grip on me and stepped back facing down. He looked at me with a question mark showing clearly on his face. I looked up at him and stared down again. Folding his arms, I heard his hoarse which sounded like a sweet melody to me.
"What happened?" I heard him asked but had no reply to give him. Am I supposed to say I came to seduce but I'm a v**g** and can't give him what he wants? Realising the situation I got myself into, I felt so stupid at the moment and and wished the ground would just come to my aid and swallow me. Receiving no reply, he came closer and whispered to my ears which made me shivered.
"You're not a v**g**, are you? His question startled me and I wanted to lie. But lying won't help me, it would only worsen it. Now I've started regretting my action. I could have said no to my mother but I didn't. I could have ran back home when I came I still didn't. So now I'm in this mess, the only way to get out of it is to say the truth.
"Speak." He said in a harsh tone that almost made me cry. I nodded meekly. He chuckled when he hear my reply.
"Seems like you have a death mission." He paused and continued. "Why are you here then?" He asked with his cold voice. The temperature in the room was so cold and I really wished the ground would swallow me. Having nothing to say, I gave him the only reply I had.
"I.. my mother...has...asked me to...come." I stammered. My head was down the whole time and my legs were trembling in fear. I didn't dare to look at him, his aura was too strong for me.
"Tck." I heard him clicked his tongue and come closer to me.
"Your mother sent you here, huh? Tell me why would she send you?" He said tucking my hair behind my back. I felt his cold hands on my ears and shivered from his touch.
"I...I do not know, she only brought me here and...ehm...told me to dance my best." I replied wishing I could escape from this moment.
"I...I...I don't know, she only told me to meet the Duke and dance my best." I replied honestly.
He leaned backwards and stared at me as if deep in thought before asking.
"May I know your name, please." He said in a normal tone than his usual cold tone which surprised me and also made me little comfortable as I thought he would let me off soon.
"Leah."
