Chapter 12 - Stage 1

Everyone looked at the entrance, and the inside was peach dark. They couldn't see anything, and it made them hesitate to enter. However, a few of them walked towards the entrance which encouraged others to follow, and in about 10 minutes, they were all inside, and the gate shut behind them.

Suddenly, the room lit up, and they were in the waiting room, where there were seats, a bar, a warm-up section, and a big screen. The theme of the decoration was appeared to be French, and the screen was as big as the entrance gate.

They all sat down, while some warmed up, and the screen switched on, showing the direction of the school McDowell Bridges.

"Good evening, we all appreciate your presence here and believe you are all ready for what is coming. This will exam will be unique because you will all be fighting as your nag has realized. To pass the exam, you must score 5000 points, now, I would welcome you to walk up the stairs, and enter the room which will be presented."

They all obeyed what the director said, and once they entered the room, it was leading to a vast training ground, which was maybe the size of a soccer stadium.

"Oh my goodness, I don't imagine how big the school is!"

"Maybe the school is the size of the city!"

"Where is my bra?!"

Jason was impressed but stayed focused on the main objective of the day, passing the exam. A ranger presented himself I. from of them, he was a class A ranger of stone named the Juggernaut. He had a rope around his neck, black short hair, and black attire.

"Greetings," he said, "now, I am not here to tell you something you already know, so I believe you see the training ground here! So, follow me and for the idiots who haven't realized, the exams have already started."

The juggernaut led them to the weight section and said: "Alright, for your first test, you will be evaluated on your strength. How much weight you can lift. You there, come up and start."

'These tests seem so vulgar, how on earth are they suppose to identify the elite with their way of processing.' Jason asked himself as he saw how stupid the Juggernaut looked.

The boy who was chosen was strong and muscular. Once he entered the weight section, he fell to the ground and couldn't move anymore.

The Juggernaut smiled as he saw the boy, and said: "Well then, someone doesn't know how to control his energy flow properly... If in the next seconds you don't stand up, you are eliminated."

The boy never stood up, and he was directly teleported to the park. Everyone was surprised, and couldn't believe their eyes. Jason on the other hand trained for that, and he had no problem walking in such places.

"So, any volunteers?" Juggernaut asked with a grin that completely turned into amazement when he saw Jason step in.

"Hmf... This is like a mere replica of where I trained." He said as he lifted the only dumbell that was present.

They all opened their mouth including the Juggernaut when he realized with how much ease he entered the ground. It was like the energy around the ground didn't even exist.

The students passed one by one, and some did it with ease, while others did it with all their strength.

Only two students were eliminated during that test, and endurance and agility tests came up. Jason and his friends succeeded as well as many others. Once they were done with the first stage, only 43 students were remaining, and the Juggernaut led them to the other end of the room, where there was another gate.

"Alright let me announce the one first position of this first stage," he said as he took a paper out of his pocket, "So the first is... Jason Cooper with 2189 points accumulate. Congrats Jason, continue like that, and you will maybe be able to pass the exam in the second stage! Alright, I'm gonna leave you here now kids. For your second stage, enter the room right behind me"

Once they entered, this time they entered a meditation section, but this time with a big and shining frog in the middle of it. It was like a meditation chamber, but there was no water, but a glowing frog.

"The second stage."

"Is this the elemental power absorber or something?"

"I'm gonna destroy that thing!"

Everyone seemed to be confident concerning this level, but it was not as easy as it looked. This was harder than the previous one. The energy which surrounded the place gave back to the students all of their strength so they could be able to swing at full power.

[Welcome to stage 2 of the exam. This exam is known to make a lot of the students fail because the frog only accepts a vast amount of energy.

In other words, if your attack is too weak, then it will be redirected towards you, however, if your attack is strong enough, it will absorb it, and give you your points. Good luck.]

"Wait, is she just gonna leave us?"

"Are we just gonna go turn by turn?"

"This school is so disorganized."

This school was looking disorganized the way it was making the exam, but only the strongest mentally could see through their trick.

'It's not about being organised, it's about detecting the strongest mentally as well,' Jason told himself, "Only the strongest will survive, physically, but also mentally."

Erza, the girl of last night walked towards the frog and launched a water spear. When she launched it at full speed, it hit the frog with such intensity, that they could feel the blow. Then, the frog absorbed the power and gave her 2467 points.

"Oh my goodness!"

"Who is she?"

"No one is going to beat that!"

"Look at her strength!"

Erza then looked at Jason with a confident look and said: "If you feel like you can beat this score, then go on but let me tell you something, this exam we are doing, is just a way of showing who is the strongest, and I am gonna show you all who indeed is the strongest."

Jason knew that although he was keeping that calm look on his face, her score was terrifying, and may be hard to beat. All he thought about, was getting a high score to pass.
