Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE ____________

The alarm clock rings out, that stupid beeping sound. It's loud, it's almost as if it's trying to wake the neighbours next door. Molly buries her head underneath her pillow, her right arm wiggles itself from underneath the covers. She reaches for her phone to switch off the alarm. Still the loud beeping noise ricochets all over the house. Molly finally turns it off, but it's to late, she can hear her mother in the room opposite to hers starting to get out of bed.

She just knows their will be some words at breakfast. Molly has been warned one time to many about having her settings that loud. She pulls herself from her bed, the duvet warm against the thigh of her leg. She stretches, desperately trying to wake herself up.

Molly stumbles into her bathroom, the light an unwanted brightness that burns her eyes. She raises her hands above her head, stretching her body to the maximum. She looks in her mirror, her hair tossed, she grins as she spreads her teeth.

"What am I doing?" She asks out loud.

The water flows steadily from the tap, Molly cups her hands under the running water, with one hold of her breath she splashes the water into her face, trying her best to awaken herself from her tired state. The cold water from the tap feels like frostbite on her face. She presses back quickly, taking a deep inhale of air into her lungs.

She returns to her bedroom, rummaging through her wardrobe. Her hands glide along a lot of different option's. Non uniform days mean the students can wear whatever they like, as long as it is kept appropriate of course.

Most girls when given the chance will pick the their Sunday best, but not Molly. She decides on a casual look. She doesn't want to go all out with the party tomorrow night.

Molly makes her way into the kitchen, marble table tops, a luscious island sitting in the middle of the floor. Molly feels her mothers gaze behind her, almost trying to burn a hole in the back of her head. She turns to face her mother. She stands one hand on her hip and one hand on the island top.

"Mom please, not today."

"Well, what do you expect. I have asked you multiple times about setting the alarm that high."

Molly rolls her head back; she knows it isn't practical for her not to have it that high but she is a deep sleeper after all. Molly grabs a piece of toast and a apple from the fruit bowl.

"You're not eating breakfast?"

"I'll grab something at school, Bye mom."

Molly stands in her driveway; she can hear a feint noise. She looks up and down the street, she can see children playing before school, her neighbours waving goodbye before work. Then she spots Mrs. Johnson, the local man hunter. Although Mrs. Johnson is married, her and Mr. Johnson don't always see eye to eye. Molly waves and flashes a fake smile. Mrs. Johnson returns the favour also with a wave and smile.

Mrs. Johnson hastily makes her way across the street. Molly can see her approaching but pretends not to see her. It's the voice, she can't stand that high pitched, always happy voice.

"Good morning Molly dear, just popped over to talk to your mother about my party tomorrow, chow for now."

"Chow." Responds Molly.

She looks on as Mrs. Johnson enters her house. Molly hears that feint noise again, she looks up and down the street, but still nothing. Confused she decides to investigate. Molly makes her way into the numerous back yards of her neighbours. Of course, this is frowned upon, snooping even but Molly is dedicated to finding that noise.

As Molly is about to enter one of the back yards, Mr. Davis of all people. A strange, lonely old man. Molly and the rest of the kids were always scared of him growing up, now he is just a old, cranky man. Someone with no one, who enjoys taking his anger out on the children and taking whatever property of theirs that end up on his lawn.

Suddenly Molly is surprised to see Brady pull up in his car. He rolls down the window, wearing his latest sunglasses. He tips them down and stares at Molly.

"You lost little lady?"

"Well, you see, I was waiting for my boyfriend to come and pick me up for school, but you'll do I suppose."

Brad chuckles as he jumps from his car. Molly bites her index finger gently as she wraps her arms. He takes her in his arms at her waist and kisses her gently. Molly runs her fingers through his hair, a grin appears on her face.

"Beautiful morning."

"Yeah, it is, can't believe how nice it is" Molly replies.

"I wasn't talking about the weather" Brad says.

"Me neither."

The pair smile at each other, but they know that school looms closer and closer. Brad rushes around to the passenger side of his car and pulls open the door. He bows, as that of a butler

"My lady" he jokes.

"Oh my, ever the gentlemen Brady."

Brad laughs, closing the door as Molly enters. Brad enters the car, kissing Molly one more time before taking off for school.

Pulling into the school carpark, Brad can see their mutual friends, Lily and Kieran. Lily a blonde, pretty type. Always standing up for what she believes in and loyal to a fault. Kieran, a people pleaser, always looking to be the centre of attention.

Molly and Brad look out further into the sea of cars, they can see a substantial amount of police cars scattered around the carpark.

"I wonder what's going on?" Asks Molly.

"Someone is definitely in trouble this morning" replies Brad.

Molly walks up behind Lily, she looks, around the carpark, still surprised by all the police cars.

"Hey guys, what's going on this morning?"

"You don't know" replies Lily.

"No, what happened?"

"Melissa Hamilton was murdered last night."

"Oh my god, seriously?" Asks Molly as her hand covers her mouth.

"I swear, she was found this morning by her parents. Apparently, it's seems it was a personal murder. Apparently not much was left of poor Melissa Hamilton."

"That's not funny Lily."

"Oh, come on Molly, I'm just having a little fun. Remember, Melissa Hamilton? the girl who made your life hell for like three years?" Says Lily.

"I remember, but that doesn't mean she deserved to die for it."

Lily scuffs, she tosses her hair back and fourth as she slides herself onto the hood of Kieran's car. The weather begins to change, the clear skies are no longer. Now the sky is covered in a dark blanket of grey, it reaches endlessly through the sky.

The honking of a horn grasps the groups attention, 'beep, beep' it rings through the carpark, grabbing multiple students and faculties eyes on the group. The car pulls up beside Molly, the window retracts down. Inside is a boy, his bright blonde hair and sharp jaw line grabs the attention of multiple girls.

"What's up peeps.?

"Something you want to tell us?" Asks Lily.

"Nope. But I couldn't help but notice all of this police around our fine school facility."

"Well, that's because Melissa Hamilton was murdered last night, Dean."

"No way, sucks to be Melissa Hamilton this morning."

Molly is upset to hear the news. Melissa and her used to be good friends, well that is until Melissa grew boobs and became one of the hottest girls in school. Loved by her classmates and teachers alike. Well maybe before she terrorised half the school.

Melissa had made many of enemies in her time, basically anyone could have done it. The list of suspects is endless and yet not one of the students seem to be at all surprised to hear of her passing.

Lily flaunts herself on the hood of the car, she grabs the attention of Kieran. Je stands starring at her. His mouth open, the only thing he is missing is to hold his tounge out, then he can be a real dog in heat.

The bells ring out, the first of two. The first bell indicates that students should be making their way into the school and the second indicates that class will be begin. As the massive mass of students begin Pilling their way into the school.

Lily grips hold of Brad's arm, holding him back from the rest of the group.

"We need to talk" says Lily.

"No, we don't, now let go of me."

Brad pulls away sharply. He rushes up to Molly and places his hand on her hip, kissing her on the cheek. Lily stands back, her eyes turn down. She grips the strap of her bah tightly, as though she is trying to choke it.

"Well, let the games begin then."
