Chapter 1 - Analysis 1: Alice

Alice, formerly known as Kei, is from the book Girl of A Guy and is the main character. In his early life, he experienced major trauma which resulted in him keeping his distance from others and trying to avoid inflicting any major pain on others.

Expanding upon his early life, Kei learned what it meant to truly be alone in the world after the death of his sister and being abandoned by his parents. Even at this point, he knew that he was strange, noticing how he couldn't seem to properly process emotions and how he had a hard time gauging others' emotions.

In his teenage years, he was rather apathetic and casual in behavior, not caring much about the opinions of others. Aside from his friend, Hiroto, Kei stayed away from others, fearing that he would be left, or rather, abandoned by his so-called friends.

Even now, with Hiroto, he is afraid that he will be abandoned.

After being brought into a new world and transformed into a girl (willingly), Kei started a new life as Alice, alongside her new 'brother' Hiroto, who changed his name to Braydon.

In this new world, Alice's fears aren't forgotten and she constantly plans against being betrayed and abandoned, utilizing magic contracts and even involving herself with nobility, albeit reluctantly on that last one.

At times she comes across as an emotional mess that is constantly uncertain as to how to handle her emotions and other times she comes across as an emotionless robot that only seeks the most efficient route possible.

This tendency causes her to be clumsy with people, constantly misjudging how they would react to various statements and actions.

To summarize, Alice is a girl who is afraid of being abandoned and left alone for a second time. She has a hard time gauging people and constantly makes blunders during her interactions with others. She has one trusted friend that she has known for over half a decade and continues to hope that he won't leave.
