Having to mind link that I found him and telling them to stay away with all that was happening was harder than I thought. My emotions had leaked with my words. He had accepted me in both forms. My mate was really mine. My anger at what Doc had done was replaced with satisfaction. He had forced Kash to work with his wolf. He really did not mean to loose him. Then again, it is rare to have a wolf fall down a cliff while running. I chuckled at how cute he was.
He was still curled up in my fur with me now unsure how to proceed. He had a long day, and night, along with what looked like a very sore wrist. But just on the other side of this creek was rogue lands. He was very lucky he did not stray, and we really could not stay here. He was not wearing clothing and he had a big aversion to others seeing him this way. The fact he ignored that and curled up against me was a big win.
'Zion. Please bring clothing for myself and Kash. I will let you know where to meet me.' Slowly I changed to my human form. 'Bring no one but yourself.'
When I moved him gently, he whimpered a little in pain. He must have exhausted himself trying to come back. I took a little more time to look at his injuries, and saw that his wrist was not just bruised but really swollen, so I expected it to be a slight sprain or small break. My next step was to carry him to the meeting point I directed to Zion. "If you wake and hit me, I swear." Chuckling I picked him up in a princess carry.
Kash had almost made it to the access point for the path up the cliff. I was proud of him. Many a wolf would have just held their ground and waited, even without injury. Then there was my brave mate. Self determined to show everyone that he was not weak. If only he saw himself as he was. I see him as a fiery, spunky, cute and yet brave man. No matter the odds against hi, I knew he would pull through. He will make a great Luna with how fair and honest he is to all, no matter station.
As I ran with him in my arms, I would take peeks at his sleeping face. This was an addiction I gained with his first heat. Unlike then, his face looked quiet and peaceful. There was no deep frown across his forehead. I was sure I even caught a smile at the corner of his lips a couple of times.
'Boss, I am here. I will leave by a tree and keep from being seen.'
'Thanks, we are seconds away. He is still resting. He ran far with a injury, so we will need Doc to wait for us in his room. He is truly amazing.'
Shaking my head as I heard his laugh in front of me, I got ready to wake Kash. There would be no telling where he would be mentally. Question was; do I wake while he is still in my arms or after I place him down?
Stuck in a delay, it was his voice that determined it. "Are we almost home? I am hungry and sore all over."
"Yes. I was just going to wake you. Zion brought clothing. Doc will meet us at the house to take a look at your wrist." As I spoke, I was looking to make sure Zion was out of sight of Kash and to locate the clothing.
"Hmm." I looked back down at Kash. He had not yet opened his eyes.
"Are you okay to stand now? Or do you need help?" This confused me. He seemed a little tamer than I was used too.
When he opened his eyes, I knew then why. Instead of the silver eyes looking at me, it was a gorgeous pair of glacier blue. He had let his wolf take over. His smile told me I could be in trouble if I did not watch myself. "Help? Hmm. I can stand and get dressed myself, but getting back to my room will be an issue."
"That is fine I can carry you to our car. Then you can sleep on the way home." Never even noticing the slip of my tongue calling it home, I continued. "Would you like a bath and food ready?"
"Hmm." I realized then I would not get much out of him. Chuckling I put him down and brought the clothing over to him. "These, stink."
His words caught me off guard. Kash never used his nose that much. "Stink?"
"Of other wolf. I will need a bath after all." Kash's wolf was a little different than Kash himself. "Let us get to our den please. It hurts my nose."
It surprised me that Kash and his wolf got along so well. Then again, I knew his wolf came out from time to time. Their eyes never showed complete control, but his actions and behaviour suggested it. "Kash?"
"Hmm?" I saw him blinking and his eyes slowly went back to the silver I knew well. "Are you okay Atlas?"
"I was going to ask you the same. When you first meld to your wolf, like you seem to have today, it can be hard to determine action verse reaction." Seeing he was dressed I walked back over to him. "A part of you changes, and some wolves fight it."
He chuckled. "All I have done my whole life is fight the unknown. I know who I am now." His smile shone bright in his eyes. "I am Kash. Second son born to Alpha Dax of the Ridge Mountain pack. Brother to future Alpha Jace. I am mate to Alpha Atlas of Royal Eclipse Pack and soon to be Luna. I am strong and determined. I am Omega."
The pride in his speech had me smile. "Yes, that you are, and more."
Kash came close and reached up caressing my cheek. "Mate. You know I never thought I would be lucky enough to have one. There was always self doubt that they would not want me. Small and no strength. You keep showing me that you are willing to wait for me to be ready for you, even so far as telling me you will stay away if I did not choose you. I am happy to call you mate."
The way his voice dropped to almost a whisper, and gentle tone had my body shiver. I stared into his eyes as this now awakened royal Omega licked his lips and slowly put his hand behind my neck. I could only wait to see what his next move would be. Drawn into this power of my mate, I could not look away.
"Cough." Zion stepped from behind a tree. "We still need to get back and deal with your uncle, who we missed the dinner with."
My face went red. I had forgotten where we were and why. "Yes lets get to the car." Kash laughed as I pulled him into my arms. "Uncle can wait. I have a mate to take care of."
"NO MARKING!" Both Kash and I growled at Zion when he yelled. "You have responsibilities. Get over it."
Kash had fallen asleep in my arms once more as Zion and I walked to the car. Now that Kash accepted us as mates, it was hard not to smile more. Even just walking, I would catch him taking in my scent.
"If you keep grinning like that, I will have guards to keep you away from him until the ceremonies. You know that most of those actions were his wolf." Zion was smiling, but told the truth.
"Yes. I also know that Kash was there and allowed it. He was still in control. You are right about the marking. Kash and I will do the pack pledge as arranged when we get back to his old pack. Then when we get back here, we will do the mating and Luna arrangements. Kash can pick the dates." We had almost got to the car and were only a drive away from home. The sun was already waking, causing a navy-coloured night sky. The stars fighting to stay seen across the span.
"Your Uncle tried to join the search for Kash." I looked back towards Zion as we got to the car. "We held him back, but he was not impressed."
Keeping quiet as I got into the back seat still holding my mate I thought of the reasons. "He was either strangely concerned or he really has other plans."
"I am going to look more into this whole male Omega history. I feel we are missing something, and your uncle knows." Zion was now driving us home.
"I want the guards increased around Kash." The growl in my tone had Kash moving. I rubbed his back until he settled once more. "We leave in three days to his old pack. Notify Alpha Dax of our return and expectations to use the cabins again."
"Will do boss. You know, if Kash knew of all the guards around him, he might kill you." Zion chuckled. "He will kill you when he sees the picture I have anyways."
My head whipped up to his direction. "Picture?"
Zion just smiled and shook his head. "Look. You worry about Kash and your relationship. I will look into the male omega thing with Doc."
"You can't bring up a comment about a picture, and not continue. What picture Zion?" He was making me a little angry.
"Easy boss. You're gonna wake your mate. His wrist needs attention, but he needs rest even more. I will show you the picture when our Luna is safe at home." Zion turned and focused on the drive speaking no more.
Kash did not wake while I carried him to his room and placed him in the bed. When I knew he was comfortable I glared at Doc. "My room. Now!" I never waited to hear more. He can tend to Kash after I have a chat with him.
I waited for Doc to sit, but he just leaned against the wall. "Alpha. You know this was not intentional. My goal was to have him run. Nothing more. I wanted him to work with his wolf more than he normally did. The guards lost him too."
"Thank you." As much as I wanted to see him squirm, I need him to know my feelings. "I am still upset that I trusted him to you and the guards, but who knew he was still very much pup like and would fall down a cliff? I won't be letting him out of my sight for a while now, but I am not furious with you. More disappointed. How did he loose you in the first place?"
"I ran ahead enough to try and make him use his nose over eyes. He obviously never did. What was strange was how his scent just disappeared. We would have located him if that never happened. It might be a male omega self defence mechanism when they are scared. I wish your parents were around to ask. The records we have a vague." Doc was already in scholar mode.
"His scent was not gone for me. That was how I tracked him. His fall down the cliff and all. It was plain as day." I scratched my head. "Interesting. Come, take a look at his wrist. I worry he did more damage to it while running as a wolf."
While Doc was working on his wrist, I walked around lightly scenting his room. Unsure if Kash would feel the same after his much-needed rest. "His wolf is softer. Almost gentle compared to how Kash is usually."
Doc chuckled. "That would be interesting to see. His spice is what I have come to be used to."
"Tell me about it. Even when his eyes shone blue, I thought he would wake up and kick me." I could not stop my smile. "I like all sides of him. He is everything and more."
"You talking about me while I sleep?" Kash's voice pulled me from looking out the window. "That is not very nice you know." If it was not for his gentle smile, I would have thought he was pissed.
"Just bragging." I walked to his bedside. "How are you feeling? You should rest more."
He reached out with his good hand and brushed my cheek. "You need rest as much as I. I will stay awake now until night. If I do not, I won't sleep this evening." He then turned to his sore wrist, then looked at Doc. "How bad is it?"
"Well, to be truthful. It is a bad break and will take a couple days to heal. You running on it caused the most damage. I am impressed that you did it, and yet upset at the same time." Doc turned to me. "Better get him into warrior training when you get back." Doc then stood up. "Kash leave the brace on for two days. Only take it off to shower or wash. Good day Alpha."
Kash and I both watched him walk out. "Is he pissed at you or something?" Kash looked at me.
Shaking my head, I smiled. "Just at himself. He feels that it is his fault you are injured. When a wolf feels at fault for injury to their Luna, they take it extra hard."
"But this was all on me. I fought for control over who I thought I wanted to be, over who I really was. My distracted mind caused me to trip. Not him. I need to make this better!" Kash went to get up and I stopped him. "Why?"
"He needs some time to himself first. If you run to him, he will think it is just excuses, not the truth. He will then blame himself more."
"That's unfair." Kash pouted.
I sat beside him. "You are amazing. You will do so well as my Luna."
His eyes brightened. "You really think so?"
"Of course! You are fair and just and kind. What more could I ask for?"
Kash jumped at me pushing me down. My back on his bed and Kash sitting on my chest with a smile. "Hmmm. What about brave?"
"You are brave. Look at you knocking an alpha down. What would people say?" All I could do was stare into his eyes. The silver was dominant, but there was also a gentle blue glow around the edge.
"You are the brave one to allow this." He then smirked. "What would Zion say if I bit you here?" His one hand softly went down to my collar bone. "Or here?" He then slowly guided his hand to my scent gland. I shivered with excitement from his touch. Slowly Kash leaned down and placed his nose to my gland. "You smell amazing." What I did not expect was to feel his teeth gently graze the spot. Then he chuckled when I groaned. "Guess I should behave."
