Elira looked at the man standing in front of her, dressed in his royal armor with a royal purple cape that trailed behind him, staring back at her.
She wondered what he was thinking about as the wedding progressed. Did he think about what a huge step this was? Did he think bout the enormous change that their lives were about to go through..? Was the fact that she was his wife… that she would be the one who would be with him for the rest of his life running through his mind at all?
She had been thinking about them the whole night! She wondered what they would be like 20 years down the road… would they be friends? Would they love each other?
Passing a glance at the high priest and then back at Cassian, Elira thought back to the words that Demetra had told her.
How she wished that that was false… and that he was actually a good person so she could maybe open the door to one day loving him? But maybe he was a whore after all… just like everyone else had said.
As she stared at him, she noticed a frown on his face. He had heard everything that she had thought… this caused her stomach to flip over and she looked down at the ground, unable to look him in the eye. Now she was wondering what he thought about all the thoughts that had rambled on in his head.
It was a pity that she didn't have powers that were as nice as his.
Cassian was frowning and seemed nearly upset but she didn't know which aspect of her thoughts had made him upset.
"Why are you upset?" she thought as clearly as possible.
"You think I am a whore?" His voice echoed in her brain. This caused her to look around wondering if anyone could hear them.
"I heard so…"
"And you believed it… how naïve. What else could I expect from a judgemental woman like yourself?" He asked in a tone that seemed like he was scoffing at her.
"You Fuc-" she began but was interrupted.
"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now lift the veil." The priest spoke up and Cassian lifted the nearly transparent veil. They glared at each other and Elira was fuming.
The cheer that arose was not mirrored by the bride and groom who stomped down the aisle, barely looking at each other.
Even while Dinner was loud and everyone was happy for them, they frowned, staring at each other now and then.
Finally when they were carried off to their bedroom and let down. Elira tossed her veil to the side.
They both began taking off the heavy wedding clothes that they had on.
Elira sat on one side of the bed at the edge while he sat on the other side, taking off the armor.
What a complete ass, she thought to herself.
Back at you princess… his reply came instantaneously causing her to huff. She took off her dress and changed into the nightgown that she had been given which was supposed to be for her wedding night.
As she changed, she glared at the mans back, wishing he randomly fell on his leg and broke it.
"How DARE you call me judgemental?" She suddenly exclaimed, "I was thinking good things about you too! But all you focusessed on was the rumor that I heard!"
"Well what else do you want me to call you? A hen pecking witch?" He asked, standing up and turning towards her, "Sure seems like that suits you a lot more!"
If he wasn't angry at her, he would have been amused at how angry the small built girl was. She had puffed her chest up and looked at him, trying to seem as intimidating as she could.
"How DARE you!" She nearly growled, "I was right… this is already a failed marriage and with an immature prick like you I was a fool to expect anything else."
"You seem like a fool nonetheless…" Cassian retorted, " as for the wedding… I never wanted to marry you and the fact that they thought of you as a punishment fit for me should say a lot more about you than me! As for me being a slut as you say… I would rather drink poison than have you in my bed"
She narrowed her eyes at him and shook her head, "Pathetic that you think I would even want to… I am sure that I am not missing much and if I ever want a review I could ask ANY other woman in the kingdom since I am sure that they have all had a turn in it!"
With that she stormed out of the room, nearly crashing into Demetra.
"Sorry your highness… I was bringing the elixir?" Demetra asked, bowing slightly, the plate with the large chalet of Elixir still on it although a little of it had spilled.
"Oh that would not be necessary as I am sleeping in my own room tonight. Goodnight Demetra." She walked away while Cassian perked up hearing Demetra's name.
He had sat back down on the bed, removing the last of his wedding clothes off, now only in a pair of pants and an open shirt.
"She is insufferable!" he exclaimed as Demetra entered the room and shut the door behind her.
"I heard…" She replied and placed the tray down on the table.
"I despise having to marry her… I wish I could just stay a bachelor… with you visiting my room every night." He sighed and buried his face in his palms.
Demetra sighed and walked over, climbing the bed and seating herself behind him.
"I understand… she truly is an annoyance… Don't worry… I am there for you." She whispered in his ear, her hands caressing his shoulder.
He turned sideways and looked at her face that was illuminated by the moonlight.
She was a pretty woman with green eyes and red hair. Her hair often matched her red painted lips which made her even more alluring.
He looked past her at the elixir on the table and stood up, walking towards it and downing it with one sip.
Demetra looked confused until he looked at her. His face angry and yet aroused in the same breath.
She understood what he was thinking and knelt on the bed while he walked over and caught her by the neck, nearly shoving himself onto her.
"Cassian…" She breathed, taken aback by how rough he was. It was as if his anger was being pushed onto her. She held on to his body, her painted nails, digging into him as they kissed. She took off his shirt which was already open and with a loud rip, her dress was torn and tossed to the side while Cassian kissed every inch of her that he could reach, eventually licking his way back up to her face.
Demetra stopped him at this and looked at him for a second- breathing heavily.
"Are you sure you want to do this on your wedding night…if we get caught…?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. She didn't want him to blame her later on for anything that could happen.
"Does anything about this seem doubtful?" He asked, tossing her back to the bed.
On the other side of the castle, Elira slept peacefully in her own bed as her husband spent their first night with a maid.
