[One month later]
Feng Liling and Grandpa Ji were walking the twins Feng Li and Feng Bao to the Flourishing Meadow Sect in order to participate in the Root Affinity Ceremony. Feng Liling decided to teach the kids about the sect before they got to the pagoda for the ceremony.
She explained that the sect's hierarchy went in order like this: Sect Leader, Inner Sect Elders, Outer Sect Elders, Inner Sect Disciples, Outer Sect Disciples, and Working Disciples. Each position had there very own badge. In fact, Feng Liling had her Inner Sect Elder Badge on right now. She also explained if you get lucky during the ceremony then you could get picked as a personal disciple by the elders, or even get chosen by the leader!
There are also five main buildings in the sect. The Headquarters, the Cultivation Center, the stables, and the arena. In the headquarters is where they take care of financial issues and matters with other sects, the Cultivation Center is where you get cultivation supplies and cultivation rooms by spending sect points, the stables are where beasts are kept, and the arena is where you can earn sect points by competing against others.
Other buildings also exist in the sect, such as the pagoda that the Feng family are heading to right now. It's just that the pagoda is only used for events such as the Root Affinity Ceremony. Thus, it is not considered a main building.
After explaining the sect to the kids, Feng Liling thanked Grandpa Ji for taking the kids when she had matters to settle at the sect.
Feng Bao and Feng Li had been arguing for the past month over who would get a better affinity and talent. They had almost driven their poor mother crazy! Feng Liling was grateful that Grandpa Ji took care of them every once in a while and the Flourishing Meadow Sect's root ceremony takes place only a month after the twin's birthday.
Once they got to the building for the test, the twins looked at it in awe. A beautiful 10 floor tall pagoda stood before them. On the first floor there were about 50 kids, all with nervous looks on their faces.
Feng Li was the first to run to the entrance, Feng Bao following close behind. They had made it just in time; an inner sect elder just showed up.
"Hello, I am Elder Hu. Today we will be testing your aptitudes and talent. Please get into a line. We will test your root affinities as well as your talent with them." Said the inner sect elder.
Feng Li was 5th in line with her brother right behind her. Elder Hu brought out two cubes that were both about the size of an adult cat. He sat one down on the table in front of the line and the other on a table on the other side of the room.
"When it is your turn to test your root affinity, all you have to do is place your hand on the cube. It will automatically do the rest for you." Elder Hu explained.
The first kid in line placed his hand on the cube, and a brown flower instantly appeared. He took his hand off of the cube in surprise, causing the flower to crumble and disappear.
"Earth Affinity." Said Elder Hu as he wrote down the first kid's affinity. "Go start the line for the Talent Cube on the table over there." He pointed to the table across the room. "Next."
Out of the next three kids two had water affinities and one had fire. It was Feng Li's turn. She was extremely nervous and ended up pushing her brother forward to go before her after a few seconds.
Feng Bao laughed after seeing this a went up to the cube. At first, nothing happened when Feng Bao placed his hand on the cube. This caused him to get nervous because the other kids instantly got their results from the cube. He had nothing to worry about though, because a bright light suddenly enveloped the room. Once the light faded a beautiful silver flower could be seen within the cube.
Elder Hu was shocked, and it took a few seconds for him to regain his composure as he tried to stay calm in front of the kids.
"Moon Affinity." Elder Hu said as though nothing happened. He then told Feng Bao to get in the next line like all of the other kids. Unfortunately, although he was only shocked for a few seconds, one of the kids noticed his expression. Feng Li was very observant for her age, so of course it was her who noticed. This only made her more determined to get better results than her brother.
Feng Li stepped up to the cube and took a deep breath. When she touched the cube her root didn't immediately appear, similar to her brother's test. However, even after 30 seconds past there still wasn't a reaction from the cube.
"Affinity: None" Elder Hu said with a slightly depressed tone. He had hoped that she might have gotten the same affinity, if not one on the same level as her brother since they were twins. "There is no point for you to take the talent test because you don't even have an affinity."
Feng Li felt depressed as she walked out of the pagoda. Her bother attempted to cheer her up on her way out, saying he knew she would still find a way to surpass him. This made her feel slightly better than before. She knew the only position she would get was a working disciple, and that was only because of her mother's status as an inner sect elder.
Feng Bao ended up getting an affinity talent of 10. The average starting affinity talent of a Flourishing Meadow Sect disciple is 5. He became a outer sect disciple like every other kid that joins the sect and reaches the standards, the only difference was that the Sect Leader, Chan Lan, took him in as a personal disciple!
The Feng family walked home, all attempting to comfort Feng Li. Feng Li didn't need comforting though, as she had thought about her brothers words earlier and had taken them to heart. This was only a minor setback for her. One way or another she was going to find a way to get as strong as her brother, and perhaps even surpass him one day.

[2 weeks later in the Heavenly Realm's main human kingdom, Dileria]
"The great Xain Yang has passed away, send a message to the other kingdoms. We much choose a new king to lead Dileria." said a priest.
Xain Yang had been sick for years, but no one could find the cause. Only Xain Yang himself knew the answer. The reason is that the moment he took the cub's power and bloodline he also took its potential. It took a huge toll on him and he lost a million years of his live. He didn't mind though, because he was know as the strongest and wisest king to live. The only thing that made him uneasy was the fact that the bloodline had a mind of its own. It restricted him from using it and even sealed off 50% of the cub's potential from him.

Feng Li was sleeping soundly when all of a sudden she felt something strange. She awoke abruptly with a weird feeling in her chest.... one which she couldn't understand. She decided to go back to sleep since she gets to see her brother join the outer sect tomorrow.
