James tried to observe his surrounding, but what met him was complete darkness everywhere. It was so dark that he was not even able to see his own hands. And the atmosphere here was also a bit suffocating and eerie with a little bit of coldness.
He was immediately on alert trying to hear any sound in the surrounding. The first thing he needed to know was to find a source of light to observe his surrounding.
He tried to calm down and opened the game panel, there were a few options in the dropdown as Chat, Contract rooms, Workshop, Storage.
He first opened the Chat column to check if there was anyone else in the same predicament as him.
It has been just a few minutes for them to come here but the chat panel was already filled with various messages.
"Hey guys, I am spawned in a vast plain. I can see a huge mountain in the distance is there anybody nearby? we can team up."
"Upstairs, did you a huge mountain? I am stuck at the top of a mountain peak and there is no way for me to descend. All around there are only clouds, do you think I am on that mountain?"
"Hahaha, what a poor guy upstairs. I have spawned directly on an iron mountain full of Iron ore. I think I am rich."
"Hello players, this is an announcement from Sky Shelter, we have established a shelter currently comprising of 8 strong members. Anyone interested in joining can contact us, we are located near a forest so there will be no issue of basic resources. This is our location xx xx"
"Hello, we have established our groove shelter, it is located in a huge field of mines. Anyone ready to mine for 15hr is allowed to join us, whatever you mine is yours with paying only 30% as tax. The shelter will guarantee you safety while mining. This is our location xx xx"
........
After watching for a few minutes James closed the chat, currently, all of them were in the initial excitement period. Those small shelters might seem good for joining but they were just noobs. According to his understanding, there must be many strong shelters and groups already formed but are laying low.
After that, he checked the workshop column, there were a few blueprints in gray color, they will not be available until he gathers the required materials. And those tools and weapons were also all ordinary things such as a wooden torch, stone ax, a wooden spear, etc.
Closing this tab he opened the Storage tab, he has not yet checked the novice package. According to the human experience, there were two things in the package.
As he opened the storage there were 16 boxes, each can save a different material with a 100x stacking option. This storage will also be available till the novice protection period.
The two given by the system are the most important safe house core. Players can use it to build their upgradable safe house. It even had many options according to the materials one had. And the second thing can be anything according to one's own luck. It can be a higher-level tool or an ordinary meal box. Most of the time it is food or basic resources, there is a very small probability of getting anything good.
This second thing was the only way out of James's current predicament. What ever he get he can trade it out for something of his use.
As he excitedly looked at the storage he was shocked by what he saw, there was only one thing in the storage and it was the safe house core. And....nothing!
"Fu*k, did I bring sh*t luck as a buff with me while rebirth?"
There has never been any such case in hundreds of years of human experience. He was the first one the be this unlucky.
When he was thinking he has lost his hope and was thinking was giving up something happened.
The safe house core in his storage shone with many colors and then automatically left the storage and suspended in front of him illuminating a small area. While James was still confused a gray mist started to gather around the core and was absorbed greedily by core, there was an infinite amount of this mist which seemed to be coming out of thin air, as the core kept absorbing this mist ii's size also kept increasing as a sponge in the water.
After a few minutes, the mist started to thin out and then stopped completely when he thought it was over a he felt a burning sensation between his eyebrows and a thin black thread-like thing came out of his forehead and attached to the core for a few seconds and then retreated inside his forehead again.
With a dreadful expression, James used his hands to feel anything on his forehead, but the black thread seemed to have disappeared completely.
{Survival System Installing
Installing completed.}
A different voice rang into his ears, then a grayish-black screen appeared in from of him.
Then there was silence, but James' heartbeats have already increased as he what he had got, "Muahahaha, the golden finger is here!"
After dancing for a few seconds he calmed himself down as there were new notifications.
{System has used the novice package extra gift slot.
As compensation, a new gift will be allotted to increase the host's survivability.
Scanning the surrounding.
Finding an appropriate gift.
Gift selected.
The host is requested to check the game storage for the gift.}
Hearing the continuous prompts from the system James was surprised. 'So my second novice gift was taken by the system?', but he didn't felt bad since according to the system he will receive compensation which will help him in his current survival. Which is the best thing.
Without further thinking, he hurriedly opened the green game panel and the storage.
In the first box of the storage there was a red-colored gift box with golden ribbons, 'The system truly made efforts in the details.', he selected the box and a cubic gift box floated in front of him with a little red light shining on its surface.
