Chapter 52 - Not Chennai?

Ch-52

Finally, the announcement was made. Rahul heaved a sigh when he heard the announcement in the speakers. He was worried that Laya would leave when she get to know that they were boarding a Canada flight instead of a Chennai flight.

He brought her to Shamshabad airport just at the right time, not even earlier at least. His heart was thudding against his chest as he took every step ahead. These steps would make them take lakhs of steps together. If their steps sidestepped or back stepped then they wouldn't have a future.

[Lord Venkateshwara… please let her stay with me.] he prayed to the god.

But the moment he came and got his boarding pass checked, the announcement was made. He held on to Laya's hand and dragged her to the plane. He let out a sigh of relief the moment they sat in their seats. The moment they landed in Canada.

Laya slept the moment the flight took off. Due to her ill health, she was sleeping a lot. And the tablet effects were really taking a toll on her body. They were really drowsy kinds of tablets. With a sigh, he wondered how long she should take those medicines. Also, they did nearly four hours of shopping that tired her. He just smiled watching her sleeping face.

Laya was too sleepy. After their lunch in the restaurant, she took her tablets. And combined with their tiring shopping, she was too tired. And the moment she leaned back on the seat, sleep took over her. Unknowingly, Laya leaned her head on his shoulder in her sleep. Rahul smiled at her sleeping face. She was undeniably cute and beautiful. He wondered when they would go back to the times when they first got married.

After six hours of the long journey, they reached Canada. Rahul wanted to carry her when he just moved from his place, Laya's head almost dropped, and was about to hit the chair. But Rahul caught her in time. Heaving a sigh, he thought [she is a heavy sleeper] Maybe he should carry her and instead of waking her.

Laya stirred in sleep when she felt movements. Yawning like a cute cat, she looked around and found herself on the flight still. With a frown, she woke up. "You should have awakened me," she said.

"You were sleeping. I don't have the heart to wake you up. So… I am planning to carry you but you are awake," he said.

[But have the heart to divorce. Such a lair.] she thought to herself.

Climbing off the plane, she saw It was already night. This wasn't Chennai but a different country.

Rahul directly took her to his apartment. Laya could feel something was wrong. She knew this wasn't Chennai but a different country. Does that mean he knew she wants to run away? Laya felt nervous at the very thought. If he doesn't want her and wanted to divorce her then… why does he needs to bring her here? Does this mean… he wants her? They were married for nearly five months. If something happened between them no one says it's wrong. And in India… prime minister Narendra Modi removed the law saying that marital rape isn't rape.

What she could do?

Wait…

This is a different country. It means Indian laws wouldn't work here. She can runway from here. But again… she doesn't have a passport. Oh! God! Why was she stuck with him like this!?

Did he plan all these things!?

"Take a bath. I need to talk to you," Rahul said before leaving her alone in the bedroom.

Laya just sighed as she sat on the bed. No wonder… he bought all western wear rather than sarees, churidars, lehengas, and Patiala's for her. She took a bath and came out wrapping herself in a towel.

Taking out her luggage bag, she placed it on the bed to take her clothes. She took out a T-shirt and jeans. Damn! Where the hell did she put her panties? She couldn't find it. She found her bra but not panties. She has to say Rahul was generous. He just let her shop for everything and anything she wanted. He paid a large chunk of money for the bill.

Groaning in annoyance, she threw everything on the bed. She started plucking out each and every cloth like a piece of rag. But just then she remembered that it was night. She took out her pajamas and wore them. She blow-dried her hair and combed it neatly. Seeing the mess she made, she started arranging her clothes in the closet. When she was done, she walked out. She wanted to eat something. Maybe the kitchen would have been stocked.

Rahul took a bath in the common bathroom. Rahul has a bungalow, and two apartments in Canada. And this is a double bedroom apartment. One room was being used as a storeroom. And the other room is the only bedroom left. There was a kitchen and a hall.

After he was done, he waited for Laya to come out. But she wasn't coming. He got up from the couch and went to the bedroom but she wasn't there. He saw her luggage was neatly arranged in the closet. Thinking she might be in the kitchen. He walked there. Rahul saw she was shuffling through the fridge but groaning in annoyance in the end.

He forgot that the fridge wasn't stocked. And she might be hungry right now.

"I will order the food," he said standing behind her.

"Oh God!" she patted herself. His sudden voice from behind made her feel scared. She jumped like a scaredy-cat. Patting her chest with her hand, "please… make some noise when you come," she said.

"I am sorry," he said.

"I want Indian food," she said.

"There is a store nearby we can get whatever we want," he said.

"I will come with you," she said. He nodded.

"I will change and come," she added. He nodded like an obedient pet.

She went to her room, she changed her clothes into a T-shirt and jeans.
