Chapter 1
"What is your greatest desire?"
These were the words I heard before I closed my eyes.
If I remember it correctly, before these all happened, I made a wish to the stars.
I solemnly looked at the scarce number of stars in the sky and, with tears in my eyes, hoped that if I could change all of them, how good would that be?
Then, I heard that voice. I can't remember what that voice sounded like or anything but all I remembered was that I felt like I was turned upside down after I uttered my wish.
"I wish to have treasures and abilities from novels I've read."
Though I don't know if it will be really granted, all I know is that I woke up today, 3 years and more than 6 months before that night. In short, tomorrow will be my debut.
Are you asking if I'm happy? Of course, I am very happy.
If that voice will really grant my wish, what sign-in systems, task systems, magical space, and etc.? Even 3 or 5 of these kinds of abilities will make me very happy and contented.
But before that, I looked around our house and sighed.
Yes, how could I have forgotten? This incomplete house unlike to our future one, really looked shabby. But this is the hard work of my parents so who am I to judge and complain?
"EN! Are you still not awake yet? Don't let me get inside and smack you with this firewood I'm holding right now! Fetch some water from the river!"
"Okay!"
This is our typical mornings. My mother would always yell at us to wake us siblings. I'm rather lazy and always daydream before I get off my bed from my mother's alarm clock- her naggings.
The me in this time is very taciturn. I don't know which novel or book I read it but I found it cool to act as an indifferent and with calm temperament girl. From whatever story it was, I loved the female lead's way so I just shamelessly copied her though I know how unsuitable it was for a poor girl like me.
"Elder sister, what are you dilly-dallying here for?" My second sister is also a nagger haha, she's a little eviler than me…I'm the innocent type hehe
I hurriedly took the bucket and walked the road to the river. We have a spring near the river that only emerged after the earthquake that hit out our town so miserably causing some casualties and numerous houses to be ruined.
The walk from our house to the spring will take up to 10 minutes. After arriving, I instantly fetched water until the bucket was full. Laziness then got me so I sat down at the fields and laid down half of my body while using my hands as my pillows.
I was in a daze as I watched the skies. Right, where were my cheats? I remembered something magical happened before. Was it just a dream?
A dream huh?
I closed my eyes while laying in the middle of the field and reminisced about her. Tears automatically formed in my eyes as I remembered everything about her.
I'm very sorry. I'm sorry Anna. I don't deserve you at all. But I'm still greedy for you…So, I'm sorry.
As I drown myself with bitter memories… I heard something that jerked me up. My system is here!
I laughed like crazy and immediately called it out in my mind
"System?"
"Hello host. Congratulations for having the second chance to change and mend every wrong you made. I, the Self-serving Task System is at your service."
"May I know how can you help me?"
"You're wrong host. It is not me who will help you, it is you who will help me."
"What? I'm getting confused right now. Can you please explain?"
"My pleasure, host. I, the Self-serving Task System, can upgrade through your help. To start with, the Self-serving Task System means that you will post tasks yourself that you want to have and the corresponding rewards will more or less be related to the tasks and this is what you have to find out yourself. With every task you post, I will grade it from A-E with A having the most value and give you points. After you accumulate enough points, this system will have then the opportunity to upgrade. I won't interfere with any decision you made. Everything will be under your control. Do you get what I mean to say host?"
"Yes, you're just like a system from a novel I've read before."
"Isn't this what you wished for host?"
"Yes, but…"
"Okay. So, what is your first task host?"
"First, I want to see my panel to see my attributes."
"Yes, host."

"Gosh, I'm that weak, slow, and dumb? I get it that I'm ugly but my charm really had to be that degrading? It's negative for fuckin' sake! Then, how shall I raise my attributes?"
"It's for you to explore host."
"Yeah explore, explore… For my first task, post task to lift the basin."
"Ding! Task released. Lift the Basin -Reward/s: Strength
Does the host want to accept the task?"
"Wow, this is cool. I accept."
As I tried to lift the basin full of water, I can already feel the increase of strength though I don't know how much.
Finding it fun, I posted another task
"System, release task to take 2 steps."
"Ding! Task released. Take 2 steps -Reward/s: Speed
Does the host want to accept the task?"
"Yes!"
"System, is it possible that whenever I post tasks, they are automatically accepted? Coz basically, I'm the one who posted them so, of course it should be automatically my choice."
"Roger that host, though I'm thinking it's a part of my job."
"Well, it's okay. Just think that I don't want you to get tired, hahaha."
"This system is very thankful for your benevolence, oh great host"
"Okay…okay…okay…Let's get back to work. I bet mother is already fuming with anger right now. I have to get home fast."
"System, post task to walk back home while bringing the pail of water."
"Ding! Task released. Reward/s: Strength, Speed."
As I walked back my way, I didn't forget to review my panel.
