"What? Really?" Paul was shocked to his core, as he gave up on ever finding his old friend.
"Yes, if I am not wrong, your friend's grandson is currently in our company for an interview" Kate informed him.
Then she updated the information she had on Alex.
"Kate, I am coming to the company right now. How long will this process continue for?" Paul already stood up and headed towards the door.
"It will go on for another two hours, then the final result will be published, so all interviewees will stay till then"
"Great, I'll be there in thirty minutes" Paul couldn't hide the excitement in his tone as the possibility of finally finding his friend after all these years, made him happy.
"But sir, I still need to confirm if he is indeed the same Mr Kim Jong Chul" Kate hesitatingly said as she was worried about messing up things.
"Don't worry, the name of the town and guardian's name is enough for me to be sure that it is indeed my friend." Paul was optimistic about it.
"Sir, should we directly hire Mr Alex Kim, then?" Kate asked him.
"No need, if he is indeed my friend's grandson, his capabilities will be enough for him to get hired. He will definitely get this job without our support" Paul proudly declared and sat in the car, asking the driver to head to the Park Headquarters.
Kate then went back to the interview room.
After two hours, the results were declared and just like what Paul predicted.
Alex got the job.
Alex Kim couldn't believe his luck. His luck never favoured him before but now suddenly everything was falling into place.
'Maybe my luck is pitying me, and is making up for all the years of torture it made me go through, I finally got a decent job' Alex Kim excitedly thought but he tried to act cool.
The ten new hirees were provided with offer letters and were asked to report on Monday, next week.
There was a small brief session instructing them of the next steps after which Alex was now free to leave.
With his offer letter in his hand, Alex's happiness couldn't be described in words.
He was so happy right now, he wanted to celebrate this good news.
Alex couldn't even recollect when was the last time that he was truly this happy.
After exiting the main office building, standing near the lawn area, Alex made a call to his grandpa, the man who forced and motivated him to attend this interview.
"Hello, Alex." An old man greeted him from the other side of the phone.
"Grandpa, good news…"
"You got the job?" The old man excitedly asked him.
"Yes grandpa, I did. Thank you so much for motivating me and pushing me for this interview. I honestly didn't believe I had it in me to get this job, but everything happened so smoothly and also this role is related to what I studied. I am so, so, so happy grandpa." Alex happily declared.
The old man smiled brightly, "I am happy too, Alex. You made me proud"
"Grandpa, you liked that restaurant near our home, remember? Seafood Cove?" Alex asked his grandpa.
"Yes"
"Let's meet there in a few minutes grandpa, let's celebrate the good news" Alex requested him.
"But Alex, that restaurant is so expensive. We can't afford it" Kim Jong Chul hesitated to go there.
"Grandpa, I have some savings which I kept aside for emergencies and to manage us for two months without a job, so we can definitely afford eating there grandpa, don't worry." Alex was in a very good mood and he wanted to treat his grandpa to a good meal.
"Okay dear, I will be there in an hour," Grandpa knows after how long Alex is tasting true success, so he didn't wish to disappoint him and decided to let himself go for once.
"Great grandpa, I will meet you there soon" Alex then cut the call and turned around only to be shocked seeing a smart looking old man, dressed in a casual shirt and pants standing there.
