RB Chapter 73 A Tale In The Making
Its a sunny day, around September 8th, a wednesday. In the southwestern part of the land, that the country of Uganda used to occupy, there is a forest. It used to go by the names of Bwindi Impenetrable forest and had been a gorilla sanctuary, a tourism spot!
But when evolution had started, all the humans had been killed and what was left, were the gorillas. Even the forest had expanded without the meddling of the humans.
Right now the trees had become wider, almost two meters and some had even surpassed that width. They didn't have that many leaves, which made the sunlight able to reach the ground.
(Boom!)
A sound came from within, startling the birds, and causing the ground to quake!
(Boom!)
This time it was close, and a tree, surpassing two meters in width, had its middle pulverised causing it's top to fly a few meters off it, crashing into the another.
What had caused it, was a black fist, which was only glimpsed as it was hurriedly withdrawn.
White fur was the first thing that entered the eyes, this was another life form. It had appeared when the tree had been punched. It looked like it had side stepped, causing the owner of the black fist to miss.
"Just because I ate a human and decided to integrate their vocal cords doesn't mean that you should kill me!" The agitated voice came from the white furred being, a gorilla.
"Hmpf!" The one with the black fist just snorted!
"Clan leader! We can't stay as we are, staying in this one forest, day in day out! We have evolved! We can't keep acting like the lower lifeforms we were before!" The white furred ape shouted. It was straining just to try and dodge every fist thrown by the black furred ape, the clan leader.
Every gorilla here, from the oldest to the youngest, were strong and energy channeling was simple for them. And the clan leader was chosen after multiple duels, the strongest!
As the white furred gorilla was being gradually cornered, its blue eyes gained a sense of urgency!
The black furred gorilla's black pupils were also starting to show its impatience! It was clad in a loin cloth, just like the white furred one, a sign that they had attained intelligence, after all intelligent creatures wouldn't want their reproductive organs dangling in front of everyone, right?
When the clan leader saw that it had cornered the white furred ape between three trees, it lunged!
Both its arms were poised towards the white furred ape's head, like it wanted to crash it in between its two gigantic palms!
The white furred ape ducked under at the last second, and punched upward with all its energy!
The sound of bones shattering was heard before, with a scream, the black furred clan leader was launched upwards!
The white furred ape didn't let up. Cracks appeared under its feet and it jumped! A globe of blood splattered on the white furred ape's face as its body cut through the air.
It head batted the helpless clan leader in the same position, before once again crashing back to the ground.
When then clan leader's body entered a free fall, it jumped up and passed his form, but not before kicking him in his back with such force that the spinal cord shattered!
"You see! I used my intelligence. Your battle experience is flawed because you have been fighting like a beast. Me, on the other hand just had to trick you!" The white furred ape landed in the ground.
After a few minutes, rustling of leaves was heard. Many apes, all black, old and young, male and female appeared right in front of the white furred ape. Whether on the ground, or hanging off of tree branches.
They were all directing their gazes towards the clan leaders corpse at the white furred gorilla's feet.
"Is there anyone who wants to challenge me?" The white furred gorilla asked. They didn't understand what it was saying but they got the gist of it. All those males that the white furred gorilla gazed at shrank their necks and averted their gazes. The blood which had fallen on its face served to enhance its menacing expression.
"Good!" The white furred gorilla's mouth formed a grin, after which it pounded its chest, with the others following suit. The sound wave startled every creature in the forest causing them to look in its direction with a trace of fear.
"Let's go claim a piece for ourselves in this wide world!" It shouted before leading the way, leaving the clan leader's corpse with none to attend to it. Their direction, was that of Kampala city causing you to wonder whether it was a coincidence, or planned!
----------
The Nile, a river which still exists even in this era. Its waters cutting through multiple countries, to reach the Mediterranean sea.
In the land that it ends at, a country used to occupy it, called Egypt.
Its capital city was Cairo. And now, where that capital city used to be located, almost a century and a half ago, stood a gigantic construct, a feat of human engineering only possible over 90 years ago!
It was a mountaneous building, ten kilometers at the base and over five kilometers in height! It was shaped like an inverted cone.
A scientist over a century and half ago had proposed something, the Xseed 4000 concept! (Google it and you will understand. Xseed 4000 concept. Its plans exist!) A mountaneous skyscraper just like the current one, but during those days, it couldn't be pulled off. The reason, advances in material science were still in infancy and if it had been built, gravity alone would have caused it to collapse upon itself! The other problem, was the cost! The cost was over 900 billion dollars, the currency of the past. In this age that would translate to about 500 billion credits of UC (Universal currency).
Breakthrpughs in material science and the creation of a unified currency led to the concept once again being brought to the table around 50 years later! But it was still the rich nations that could afford it!
Even Egypt, only owned one before the release of the super cells!
At its top most room, which was also in the shape of an inverted cone, a woman could be seen standing on a podium, surrounded by seats. Holographic figures were the ones occupying the seats.
"Thank you all for appearing on such short notice." She bowed.
She had tanned Egyptian skin, bangles adorning her wrists and calves, long brown dress, plus a Cleopatra like hairstyle. All her simple gestures were radiating authority, pinning her as someone who was or had been in a leadership position. She looked about 25 years of age.
"Get to the point!" A hologram of a burly man wearing traditional west African clothing said in dissatisfaction.
A frown briefly appeared on the woman's face before it smoothened out. Sounds of gulping were heard when she frowned. She was very beautiful after all.
"I have went into the trouble of contacting you all because we need to work together. I am proposing the formation of a federation."
Whispering voices were heard when she said that. In the room, there were about 600 holograms, each the leader of a city.
If you looked closely, you could even see that one of the holograms was Elder Muti. His takeover of the city must have been smooth.
It was the same day as the event in that forest, but noon.
"Why do we need to form a federation? Enlighten us!" One of the people asked.
"Some of you might not have any idea, but multiple continents have already formed federations and are currently making preparations for war with the beasts. We are practically the last ones. What if they invade us after taking out the beasts?" She asked, her gaze roaming the many people here.
"Federation..." Everyone mulled over the word.
"I have a question. Why now? Couldn't you have contacted us earlier?" One asked.
"That's because I was taking care of some problems!" A murderous intent leaked out of her body.
"Anyway, we need to decide. If you are content about staying with your current status cuo, or taking a leap into the future!" She had a powerful voice. And to top it off she was still young!
"I agree to it's formation. Here in the south we are bitterly fighting against ocean beasts. I hope that we can share some technology. I heard that your city has developed something to keep them away?" Someone talked at this time.
"If I am not mistaken, that is the leader of one of the only two South African cities with an Xseed 4000 concept, right?" One of the others whispered.
"Yeah!" The one who answered had an unreadable expression.
"Sure! The goal of the federation is unity and sharing. That will be possible!" All those who had cities at the coast shifted uncomfortably in their seats. Such a proposal was beneficial to all of them!
