Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Adventurer

In the morning, I went to the lord's manor and walked to his study where he was working. "Ah, Daedalus, fancy seeing you here." Earl Patheim said. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" He asked.

"I have an idea for a new export." I said.

"And what would it be?" He asked.

"It's a potion that heals wounds, given by the large quantity I can create, it can be cheap, in fact, it would be best if it was." I said. My plan is to have this city export healing potions that I make that also have the same effects as the control potion. These won't be lame healing potions either, they will be full heals.

"I see, but are you sure? It has to outweigh the costs of production." He said.

"Don't worry, even if it's sold at one copper, it will still be a profit." I said.

"Alright, when will we start?" He asked. I created a crate next to me full of potions.

"Now." I said.

"I'll get my men ready, go ahead and set up a dropzone for us to pick it up from." He said. I nodded and left to the front gate of the manor. I created a zone that is ten thousand square feet for crates to appear once a week so long as it will not harm humans or their pets, if it would it will wait until they are out of the zone, then create the crates.

The zone creates the control potions with healing effects, filling the zone and it will be three crates in height. Each of the crates is three feet on each side. I informed the Earl as to where the crates are and how often they will arrive, then left.

I walked back to the inn I first arrived in and saw employees doing various services and Lina was at the desk in her maid dress with her chest exposed. Due to certain objects that I have created there is no lingering scent of sperm or sex, instead, it smells rather pleasant.

"Lina, I'll be traveling for a few months, maybe longer, or maybe a little bit less time, take care of the inn while I'm gone." I said. She nodded. I left the inn, then the city, and found a spot along the roadside to change my outfit.

I made a black jacket with a dull red trim and some slacks. My shirt is a white dress shirt with a golden trim. I then made a katana that shrinks and grows proportionally for the user with a scabbard and placed it on my hip.

The katana is ornate and has a black handle with a dull red braid and golden guard. The blade is a dark gray color. The scabbard is black with a sakura tree design on it. Lastly, I made a satchel with a large amount of space on the inside, basically a bag of holding but with more space.

Lastly, I made a black kitsune mask with dull red accents. After changing, I continued on my way down the road. After a few hours of running, I reached the next city over and the guards stopped me.

"Do you have any form of identification?" They asked. I shook my head. "Then it'll be ten copper to enter." The guard on the right said. I reached into my bag and handed him the copper, after counting it, they yelled up to the top of the walls.

"Oi, open the door!" The one on the left yelled.

"Alright!" A voice rang back quietly from the tall walls. After a few moments, the sound of moving gears could be heard as the door began to open, albeit slowly. Once the door was opened enough, I entered the city.

As I entered the city, several people glanced at me and gave me weird looks, clearly suspicious of me, for good reason, of course. I looked around and noticed I was in a residential block. I walked over to a random individual, a man, he looked to be around thirty and had a few gray hairs.

"Which way to the adventurer's guild?" I asked. He hesitated for a moment, then answered.

"Just down the road, towards the city center." He said as he pointed down the main road. I nodded, handed him three silvers, then walked to the city center. After a bit of looking, I found the adventurer's guild, then entered the building.

"Welcome!" A woman said as she waved at me from behind a desk. "Are you already registered with the guild?" She asked I shook my head.

"I would like to join." I said.

"Would you like me to explain the guild to you?" She asked. I nodded. "Essentially, we work on various odd jobs, anything from cleaning to taking on arch-wyrms. The guild has a ranking system that goes from Apprentice to Mythic. We may be an odd job agency, however, we are also a part of the political system, as such, we must inform the king, as well as our superiors of anyone who manages to do something amazing, such as killing a dragon." She explained.

"Thanks. How do I join?" I asked. She grabbed a few pieces of paper, then placed it on the desk.

"Just sign those." She said. I looked over the papers, then signed them. After she looked over the information, she fed it through some kind of paper reader that produced a guild card. "This is your guild card, as an adventurer, it is your lifeline, so don't lose it. If you do lose it, you must pay five silver to have a new one issued. The adventurer's guild is an international institution, as such, this also operates as a passport to every city on the continent." She explained.

"Thank you for telling me." I said as she handed me the card.

"Yep!" She said happily. I grabbed a healing control potion from my bag. The potion is a red liquid in a crystal glass container. I placed it on the desk.

"A token of my gratitude." I said. "It's a healing potion, one drop will heal just about any injury. It can also cure any illness." I added.

"Oh my, thanks!" She said with a bright smile.
