Five years ago I got isekaied into this world.
Truck kun did it full speed. It hurt like a buttcheek on a stick but damn I woke up in the prettiest body ever. Starry eyes... pitch-black hair with golden highlights... skinny ankles... NO MATTER HOW MUCH I ATE I WAS STILL THIN???
Holy shit was this my ideal body?? Am I finally hot??
I didn't recognize who I was at first until my maid called me Crystalia Luna Villarreal. Then I realized I got isekaied into a random fanfiction I wrote in my middle school years. Specifically when I was 13 years old.
Oh sweet Lord Jesus save me-
I had titled it "Crystal Scepters" despite my other stories being titled "The Sun and the Moon" and then another was called "Chasing the Moon" and then another one called "Running away from the Sun". Was it a trilogy? No but I just really liked the idea of a Sun and Moon couple. "Crystal Scepters" was just all of my teenage angst and fury dunked into a royal au.
The story starts out when Crystalia is 18. She dances with this strange man at her coming of age ceremony and falls in love with him at first sight. Turns out he's the son of another empire's emperor, and he's engaged to a girl named Solaire. She's devastated when she learns about it. So she decides to ruin both empire's happiness during the banquet. She steals both empire's crystal scepters, and catches the heart of the seventh prince of her empire. He courts her, proposes, and then they decide to get married. Shortly before she gets married, someone discovers the scepters in her room and she's killed by her own husband on her wedding night. Her last words were "To think that you'd kill your own love for a scepter..."
Being honest it was terribly written even though all the characters were well analyzed and planned out. So I was lucky to have be familiar with all the characters when I got crashed into this world. Which then brought me to this issue...
WHY ON EARTH WAS I HERE IN THIS INSIGNIFICANT NOVEL WITH NO HAPPINESS AHEAD???
I was in a carriage accident, and the soul of Crystalia accidentally got crushed. So I got transmigrated here instead; it was nice since I could fake amnesia. My family was crushed that I didn't remember anything... OH WHO AM I KIDDING THEY WERE ELATED.
And no they weren't happy that I was alive, they were happy that their only daughter could make more connections for them via marriage without kicking up a fuss.
But nonetheless, they still decided to spoil me rotten. Both by spending time with me and showering me in gifts.
Which was perfect because I lacked time with my parents in the real world so yay I guess.
"Crystalia darling we picked out a handful of noblemen that you can choose to marry." my mother sighs dreamily as she hands me a clump of papers.
It had been two weeks since I recovered from the dead. I was wearing a light skirt and a pair of trousers underneath. My hair was up in a ponytail, and I was wearing a star-shaped necklace.
Mother was wearing the casual attire that noblewomen wore. She wore a white chemise dress with golden outlines. She had her wedding ring on, and her golden hair was up in a bun.
I stared at the papers in my hand. "Mom... why are all these princes?"
"Because you're a duke's daughter of course!" My mom clasps her hands together and I read through their profiles. Prince Albert... Prince Paris... Prince Zachary... Prince Hades... so many princes... was the emperor unable to control his urges or something-
"Which prince would you recommend mother?"
My mother pulls out a paper among the six and hands me a page. Albert Daniel Trevino. The fifth prince of the royal empire. He's next in line for the title of Duke of the Endlands.
From what I remembered the Endlands are at the edge of the empire and very dangerous lands. Crystalia stayed there before stealing the first scepter, and there was a huge plot of land that she discovered mana crystals in. She went there to visit her friend at some point before she came of age, and she stumbles into a cave full of gemstones. Which was exactly what I needed to do because I was only 17.
My debutante ball was coming quickly and considering that the Villarreals were the center of high society, I needed to gain power before anyone else tried snatching it from me. The endlands were currently inhabited by a friend of mine and a couple of regular citizens. They didn't have an official duke or duchess residing over it, so it was the perfect time to make a run for it.
"Hey mother," I smile brightly. "If possible could I go vibe with my friend in the endlands?"
My mother pauses before taking out a small notebook. "vibe... oh hang out? Sure, darling! Be sure to come back... wait. THE ENDLANDS??"
I sweat profusely and avert my eyes. "Yes... Bria lives there right now... I miss her..."
My mother glares at me and flips through her notebook again. "That's odd darling. You would say sus but it doesn't seem fit. Why the endlands?"
"Because Bria lives there! Also, it's snowing season there right now so I want to visit. Sledding sounds like a dream come true" I swoon. Though that wasn't the reason, I had discovered early on that I had a talent for making up bs and people actually believing it. Guess my 13-year-old self wrote that somewhere in the story. Good job little one, I'm proud of you lmao.
"Ah..." My mother thinks about it and smiles. "Sure then. Be sure to come back within the week though. We still need to design your debutante dress."
"Yes mother! Thank you!" I kiss her cheek and rush off to pack up.
"Daisy darling we're heading to the endlands!" I cheer. Daisy was my personal maid. Chestnut hair and emerald eyes... if I were any less straight than I currently was I would've run away from home with her to become cottagecore lesbians. Unfortunately, despite men being the bane of my existence, they were still my sexual attraction... cURSE MYSELF UGH!
But it wasn't like anyone else in this novel was lacking. All of the characters were designed by me, and dark hair was actually considered rare in the empire. Anyone with features as that was often taken as a wife or concubine immediately. They were believed to be descendants of the Moon goddess after all. All black-haired girls possessed high-level powers.
Crystalia lost her first love to a girl with those features. Which was ironic because Crystalia had black hair herself. The only flaw was that she had strands of gold flowing through her hair. But nonetheless.
Solaire. That was what I named the black-haired girl. Hazel eyes and black hair. A mirror of myself in the real world. Now that I think of it I think that story was just to comfort myself that having black hair was unique. I mean, ironic enough her name meant the exact opposite of what mine did.
But nonetheless, I needed to focus on how I would survive as Crystalia.
