After the Sacred king gave each of his eight children a stone from his crown, he kept the biggest one for the heir of his throne. He made his ninth son promise not to fight for territory from his brothers and sisters and to protect them and their children and people. Together, all nine children helped each other and built eight new kingdoms.
But due to the powers bestowed upon each of them being different, they discovered that they could not use the powers of each other's stones but only theirs. So they decided that they will only accept humans who had affinity to their type of elements or normal humans in their kingdoms. The rulers of the kingdoms are as follows.
Human kingdom, ruler Sima Xinjiang, first son of the sacred king. Affinity towards space and time element. Was given the white stone.
Vampire kingdom, ruler Sima Shun, second son of the sacred king. Affinity towards darkness and blood element. Was given the black coloured stone.
Witch kingdom, ruler Sima Qing'er, third daughter of the sacred king. Affinity towards poison and curse element. Was given the purple coloured stone.
Mermaid kingdom, ruler Sima Qiu'er, fourth daughter of the sacred king. Affinity towards water and sound element. Was given the blue coloured stone.
Werewolf kingdom, ruler Sima Liuxi, fifth son of the sacred king. Affinity towards earth and summoning element. Was given the brown coloured stone.
Wizard kingdom, ruler Sima Xiao, sixth son of the sacred king. Affinity towards fire and undead element. Was given the red coloured stone.
Fairy kingdom, ruler Sima Shuang'er, seventh daughter of the sacred king. Affinity towards nature and healing element. Was given the yellow coloured stone.
Elf kingdom, ruler Sima Yuning, eighth son of the sacred king. Affinity towards wind and psychic element. Was given the green coloured stone.
Angel kingdom, ruler Sima Bing'er, ninth daughter of the sacred king. Affinity towards light and lighting element. Was given the golden coloured stone.
Unlike the other eight kingdoms, the human kingdom decided to accept every human regardless of their affinity towards the elements. Like this, each kingdom expanded and continued to grow. The rulers decided to hold meetings every two years between themselves as they were siblings. Soon they all married except for the human ruler and the mermaid ruler.
After the second meeting, they discovered to their shock that their bloodlines did not resonate with each other and their features has started to change albeit slowly. the humans ruler, Sima Xinjiang was the only one who stayed the same. The others started showing obvious changes.
The Vampire ruler, Sima Shun started growing fangs and his skin turned a few tones paler than before. He started feeling hungry for no reason even when he just ate. His mind told him what he needed but he controlled himself and only drank some of his wifes blood after her continued begging.
The Witch ruler, Sima Qing'er and the Wizard ruler, Sima Xiao did not show that much changes to their appearances. Only their senses were heightened by a certain amount.
The Mermaid ruler, Sima Qing'er first had changes to her hands and feet. Her fingers became webbed and her skin turned moist and soft. Later her legs combined into a fish like tail whenever she is in water. She also found out that she could breathe underwater.
The Werewolf ruler, Sima Liuxi first noticed his raise in appetite and that his sense of hearing and smelling was getting ridiculously high. After that, every month when the new moon rises, he starts having pain in his chest and his nails turned into claws. He transformed into a beast like human and his mind would go blank every night. The next day, he always wakes up in bed with his wife while she doesn't even have strength to get up. He later practiced and learned to control it.
The Fairy ruler, Sima Shuang'er started feeling pain on her back one night so she told her husband about it. After some time, the pain intensified which knocked her unconscious. After she came to, she felt something on her back and found out that she had wings. The wings had plant like green patterns and were translucent which made them illusory.
The Elf ruler, Sima Yuning found out that his ears started growing pointedly which gave him an increase in hearing. He also found out that his vision turned clearer and sharper. This made his accuracy rise exponentially which helped him almost never miss a target.
The Angel ruler, Sima Bing'er also had unbearable pain on her back. After sometime, the pain shot through all her body which knocked her unconscious. She woke up to realise that she had three pairs of golden feathered wings which gave her the ability to fly.
After listening to everyone's experiences and changes, the human ruler decide that it was because of the stones that their bloodline and bodies change so much.
