Jackline remained rooted to her spot with a shocked expression on her face while she saw her aunt talking, taking out a Dagar from her waist belt and swinging it in front of that animal creature that had jumped in front. She didn't even have the time to even take out her phone and call for help instead she quickly took out her gun and aimed at that particular creature. However, soon enough that creature had landed a cake on her hand and her gun fell on the ground with a loud thumping sound. She was just about to attack Jackline with that particular sickle in her hand when Aunt Adela tightened her grip on the dagger and launched an attack on it.
Both of them seem to be fighting just as if they were going to slice each of their necks.
Jackline quickly took over her gun and started to shoot at the animal. But no matter how much she was shooting at once that creature would halt in his actions then again would start attacking Aunt Adela. When She Could not find any other option she took another sickle that was lying near the bushes and ran after that creature who was constantly attacking Aunt Adela. She seems to be quite tired and by her face Jackline could point out that she won't be able to keep it any longer. Without wasting much time she quickly barged towards the animal and pushed the sickle into the spinal cord. At that very moment the attack immediately made him Numb on his spot. Taking the chance, Adela quickly ran with her dagger and she stabbed the animal in its left side of the chest. By the time everything had happened the nearby PCR van had arrived near Jackline house when they heard that something was going on and they should check once.
Jackline quickly shows them her ID and informs them thatsheis also a cop working in the detective bureau. The Other officers bowed their heads down and asked her what had happened. In the meantime Miranda who had received news that around Jackline's house something was wrong she quickly rushed over there.
"Jackline, are you alright?"
Miranda's voice sounded from behind and the group immediately looked into the direction.
"Can you take care of all ther? I need to take my aunt inside first."
Miranda nodded her head and let Jackline go with her aunt inside the house whileshedealt with the things that had happened outside. The other crops also did not make things difficult for Jackline as they knew about her identity and since Miranda was also there then we just had to follow the orders.
When Jackline and aunt Adela reached near the door they realised that Charlotte came rushing towards them. She freaked out when she noticed both of them.
"Oh my gosh! You both are alright. I was freaking worried. I heard what was happening but I could not get on time."
Charlotte quickly came near Adela and hugged her tightly.
"Aunt, are you really alright why do you look so pale and what actually happened with both of you? You both are looking so pale."
Charlotte asked both of them worriedly.
"Charlotte, just let aunt rest inside first. And check over her injuries, she fought really very hard just a few moments ago. I will check if everything is alright or not."
Charlotte nodded her head and to Adela inside the house to check over her. She was a nurse working in the military hospital who went to school along with Jackline and Miranda together.
Jackline came outside and noticed Miranda waiting for her.
" dude what happened? I was freaking worried for you the moment I received the officers calling me. I rushed over here as soon as I could."
Miranda looked where the body was lying and raised her brows as ifshewas asking for an explanation from Jackline.
" Just don't ask me about it. I really don't know where they came all of a sudden and started to attack us." Jackline followed her friends line-of-sight and was surprised to see that the body just seem to be a normal human not at all like that creature that has attacked both of them a couple of minutes ago
" Do you know who is he? Or somebody against whom you had run a case in the past?"
Miranda questioned Jackline whileshelooked around and noticed her friend's gun. She picked it up and realised that there was not even a single bullet.
" I shot her but it seemed as if the bullet were not stopping her or even being aimed at her. Something was there which was stopping those bullets."
Miranda handed the gun to Jackline and turned that body to realise that and there was not even a single Bullet mark.
" You are right there is not even a single bullet. But if those bullets did not land on him then where are they?"
Miranda looked around but could not see any bullets lying on the floor. Jackline was too tired to even look around so she just sat on the bench and let the officers do their work while Miranda held them out.
" you just rest for these days. You have been attracting a lot of problems since the past few days."
She sarcastically and intentionally tries to ease up Jackline's mood and her words were indeed effective. At least she could see her friend smiling although that smile was filled with tiredness.
" Alright you just go and rest. I will take care of other things and don't have to rush early in the morning tomorrow."
" Nah! it's alright I'll be there. Thanks for coming and you go as well."
Bidding her friend a goodbye, Jackline returned back to her house and closed the door from behind. When she reached inside she noticed a nurse sitting beside aunt Adela while the latter was soundly sleeping on the sofa.
"Is she fine?"
