Chereads / Ajay Allan: The Journey Of Allan / Chapter 79 - Brute's Hug

Chapter 79 - Brute's Hug

"Merciful lord above! Thank you for your grace!" He said as he pulled Reena in a tight hug.

"Y-Yea yeah," She patted his back.

What about me?

After all the formalities, Raion and Reo joined us. Well it was Lucia and Reena having their fun, with me as bodyguard— Honourary knight. Leon and Nerisa was with us too. Apparently, they had something to discuss with Lucia. Something political?

Are these people really that free...?

That's when Raion hugged Reena.

"He may seem like that but he is really gentle. He was really worried about Reena's condition," Lucia whispered to me.

Reena was bedridden for a long time. It was, by no means unusual for a brother to act the way Raion was acting upon witness his sister back on feet.

"You don't know how long I have waited to see you walk again," Raion said, still hugging his little sister... Dearly.

"I-I know, s-since I-I have been—,"

"You Don't Know!!"

She keep patting her brother's back.

Reo was just standing there, watching over them saintly... A bit worried too.

"Bless that man how came to your aid!"

"Y-Ye-ahh...!" Now she was patting her brother's back even more.

Such a lovely sight indeed.

"B-Brother, I think Reena is getting hard time breathing! Please let her go!" Reo was the only one who dared to stood up against the evil deeds of this monster. All this time, Reena was tapping out but the brute never let go of her. She submitted long ago, but the brute was sadistic!

Hah, what a brute! He never wanted to see his little sister walk again after all! May he die a hundred times...

"Huh? Ah, R-Reena! Are you okay, my dear?!"

Realising the pain he caused to his sister, the brute stepped back.

"Huuuaam haah*" Reena tried to catch a breath...

But unfortunately, it was too late.

"H-Hey! Don't kill me like that!" She shouted.

"S-Sorry... I couldn't retrain myself,"

Raion apologized.

Why does it feel... that was aimed for me?

Reena then proceeded to tell her brothers how her illness, which was a curse, was cured by the one and only me.

She also mentioned the incident that took place at temple.

"...I see," with that, he walked towards me.

"I am honoured to be in the presence of such young sage," Lowering his head, he paid me respect.

I reached out and promoting him to rise his head.

"I just did whatever I believed right,"

"Umm actually," Lucia introduced me.

"He is my knight, brother. The name is Allan."

"A Knight?...You say," Puzzled he looked at me.

"Princess Lucia is right about that. I am the one who is know as Allan. And it's my honour to serve Princess as her knight."

"So you are not medic? Or sage...?"

"Yep yep. He is my personal knight and guess what... He is super strong, see."

Declaring that, Lucia repeatedly patted my shoulder.

Raion took a step forward and extanded his hand vertically with the thumb up and fingers out.

I complied and we shook hands.

He smiled and applied more force than one would exert to shake hands.

It was a test of strength. A way of judging other individual and decide how to treat them based on their abilities.

I, too, put in a bit more effort, applying equal strength as him. Raion seemed surprised as he exerted more efforts in it.

Kids play these games...

In response, I neutralize with equal output.

"...Gay," On our prolonged act of holding hands and moving them up and down constantly, Reena remarked while Lucia elbowed her and whispered her approval.

"Honestly, I don't mind that development."

"Right!"

We let off each other's hand as Raion turned and glared at fine young ladies.

Then I exchanged handshake with Reo too. Unlike his brother, he never put much force in the handshake. I was an appreciable one.

Raion was definitely strong. He may plan a major role in Lucia's ploy. His was strong, certainly among one of the strongest on this planet when it came to raw strength and brute force. From what I heard, the mace he wield weigsh around 120 tons.

On the other hand, Reo was adequate with spearsmanship and was a tactical mind. He had good sense of mortal anatomy making it easy to strike the most vital points of the mortal body.

Did this lady genuinely cared about her cousins? Or were they just a mean to reach high?

There was no way one would know answers of those questions.

"I apologise for intrusion. Prince Raion, Great King wish to see you." The message was delivered by Neulon.

Raion had a bored expression but he nodded.

"I'll speak with you later," after that, he walked to me.

He put his hand on my shoulder.

"I'd love to exchange blows with you. Let's have a wrestling match sometime." With that said, he left with Red-Hairs.

"Guess father can't help with it. Honestly, I too would love to hear all the stories brother got."

"Then we can brag about his feats,"

"Exactly!" While ladies were invested in their logistic, political discussion, I could not help but relax a bit.

People do love to brag about their accomplishments. Even if it's not their own, they would willing bring it up as long as it's connected to them somehow.

Parents take pride in their children when they achieve something out of ordinary. They make sure to announce it in the neighborhood, to relatives, friends.

Same can be said if it's a sibling or a friend.

It is their way of showing the circle they belong to. A circle that is not typical but got something unique. Sometimes, they do not even try to hide their connections. It was a demonstration of high value.

But if you live on other's accomplishments and have nothing to offer, you are just a privileged fly. One who got fresh food then trash. Though a fly is a fly and the lifespan is small.

Whether he is a fly or an accomplished warrior, time will tell.

Having power you cannot utilise is same as not having power at all.
