"...Y-You gotta be kidding me," Were the words Neulon uttered as he stared at the sky in absolute disbelief.
Captives were suffering same concussion as Neulon, unable to comprehend what they were witnessing had their jaw dropped.
"Y-You! You can summon the Sun!"
"If I could, non of us would be breathing. Let's go, time is against us."
Still astonished by Curna's feat, Neulon starting moving, so did innocents.
Curna forced his way through evils as Neulon covered the back. Duo absolutely demolished evil entities with ease.
The Sun was too bright for evils that they had hard time using their eyes. Abusing the boon, great warrior duo slaughter numerous Pishachas and Demons.
Mere gestures from Curna and massive buring balls showered evil with heavy fire.
"""AHHAAHA AAAARRHH!!!!""
Fireballs were falling on evils, as they burn into nothingness.
-----------------------------
"It's not possible, right?! Tell me I'm dreaming!"
"It does seem pretty real to me,"
A Sun that appeared in night, covering the moon, clearing darkness was lashing out fire. As if, it was raining flames.
"W-What do you think happened?"
"Rather uncommon phenomenon... If anything, the other two must engaged in some ridiculous battle,"
"W-Who?!"
"Neulon and Curna,"
"So you're not the only one here?!"
"I need my own measures. Anyways, let's move. It's the best time to get out of this place,"
Considering the Sun must be attracting a bit, only a little bit, of 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
I pushed Priest who had been staring at magnificent sight for a while now with her mouth open.
𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳...
Red hair and Curna must be engaged in battle with a mass considering the scale of attack been used. It was unsaid that we need to hide our presence as much as possible for this operation. Them going all out like this only means that they are either worthless, or this place was doomed.
Whatever it was, I had to assure I can get well use of Priest. Not let any words escape.
I spotted a Pishacha in disguise of a knight. But we kept surging forward though I made sure to slow my pace little bit to be behind Priest.
"What are you doing? It's no time to slack!" Priest scold me.
"You, Haa!!"
Pishacha, who became aware of our presence, threw a knife in our direction.
"Carefull!"
Knife was aimed for Priest's eye. Of course she was hopeless and could never dodge, or protect herself.
I swiftly made my move and placed my hand between her face and knife.
"...AAhhaaaa!?"
"It's okay,"
Approaching knife was stopped dead on track thanks to my hand, though it did pierced through and caused bleeding.
"...Y-You," As young lady's mind started to get the situation, I pulled out the knife stuck in my palm and threw it back to it's owner.
"Grraaghh..." It got struck in heart before disappearing into nothingness.
"A-Are you okay? Oh my god, it's bleeding so badly!" Young lady was terrified of my injury as she quickly pulled out a cloth and took my hand. She then proceed to carefully wrap it around injured hand. I could feel, see her hands trembling.
"It won't be efficient if it's lose,"
"I know! You just stay still!"
The annoying priest was nowhere to be found.
"*Huff* T-This should do for now," She sighed in a bit relief.
𝘎𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨... 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥.
"Though we need to get it treated as soon as possible! D-Dear lord, stitches! We sho—"
"It's okay. Nothing to bother about," I cut her out. She does not seem used to this sort of situation.
"H-How can you say that?! It's totally not okay, stupid!" and there she go.
"It is. Moreover..." I drew a bit closer to her and put my unscathed on her shoulder.
"H-Huh?" An almost inaudible sound escaped her mouth.
"Are you okay? You are not injured or something?"
"N-Nope, 'm not!"
"Great. Then we should start moving," I said as I begin to turn my body.
"...Why did do that?" She mumbled.
"Cuz if I didn't, your life would be at risk,"
That caught lady off-guard as she looked other way.
"S-Stupid..." She murmured. Though I ignored and marched ahead, so she quickly followed.
As we moved towards exit, numerous Pishachas faced us. As a result, all of them got their existence obliterated.
I wonder how many I sent to hell, just been increasing the workload for the ruler of hell.
"Y-You're strong..." Priest praised in low voice.
"Well thank you. How about you try not to slow us down,"
"Huh?! I'm not slow—!!" Before she could complete her sentence, Priest tripped. Kissing the Celis, embracing the dirt.
"That's wh—"
"Shut up! It's all your fault!" She yelled at me.
How rude of her.
I extened a hand to aid her up. Though she was annoyed, Priest shamelessly took it.
I turned my head at sky.
"...We got no time for this," That said, I extend my arms and lifted Priest.
"Huh? Nhuh?! W-W-What are you doing?!" Flustered, young lady tried to pull away but it was pointless.
"Shut up. Can you not see, I am trying to be a gentleman,"
"N-No gentleman touch a beautiful youthful lady without her permission!"
Beautiful?
So she said, but her words fell on deaf ears.
With a beautiful youthful lady in my arms, I dashed to exit.
"Hey,"
"Hm..."
"I want you to tell me something,"
"Hm..."
"Are you even listening?!"
"Hm?! W-What?!"
It seem to me, young lady was not in right sense.
"Is this your first time being carried by a man?"
"Is that you want to know?!"
"No. I was wondering how you actually found out about church's scheme?"
One may have no idea how priest would respond, considering her brain was not working on high efficiency.
At my words, her face turned grim.
"...About that,"
Hesitation?
"Believe it, princess' safety is my highest priority."
"I see..."
That should be enough.
"I believe, our King is been manipulated..."
King been manipulated? Is that how it seem.
"I think the Church somehow managed to convince the King for human sacrificial."
I see... So the king is been used the entire time.
"Maybe that too is the reason why he's cold these days..."
For any King, who genuinely care about his people, offering the very lives of innocent would be same as selling their soul.
"...His soul is been taken," I muttered to myself.
"I won't deny that... Moreover, today is the day for sacrificial ritual,"
Priest knew about the mischiefs of the church, yet she was powerless so she decided to sneak in. When evils would be invested in guarding ritual, she could gather evidence against the evil within. There was no way she could have fought against evil forces so while carrying the guilt she decided to risk her life. Stupid though courageous.
Atleast that was my presumption about young lady's action.
Then she proceeded to tell me more about the inner movements of the Church and how it would be tough for even the King to outright reject any agendas the Church come up with.
"You did all this by yourself?" I asked her, genuinely impressed.
"Of course... There was no way I could have taken the risk of exposing my motives. I had no one to put my trust on,"
She was alone this whole time, fighting against the evils not even the higher ups of the Kingdom knew.
"I will let you know this, you did well. Now leave the rest to me. You were amazing," I dared not to lie. The words of mine sincere and Priest sensed it too.
I carried a melancholy on her face, but my words did gave her a slight sense of relief. Now all that was left, was to prove them... The words I gave to her.
