"So, how about you call your friend out who is hiding there. There is nothing to be so dubious about I believe. We are all on the same stone after all." Curna asked me to call out Red-Hairs, who had been hiding in tree whole time, maybe listening to us.
"Heh, seem like I can't hide anything from you... Red-Hairs you can come out!" I called out Red-Hairs as he get off the tree.
"For God's sake could you please call me by my nam—!?" I thought he was going to make same, fruitless, request to call him by his honoured name but somehow, before he could complete his sentence he was all guarded up.
I could feel Curna, standing behind me, too tighten up.
𝘕𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭...
"Hauh, What are you doing here, bastard?!" Red-Hairs was the first one to speak. For him, presence of Curna was quite unexpected.
"To think that I'll have such an unexpected encounter with Neulon, one of the commander of Renhard's... Is this some sort of deception against me?" For Curna, Red-Hairs was surely someone he never expected to meet here of all the places.
"...Allan, are you trying to put up an act?" Curna asked me as I sensed malevolent intents from behind.
Without turing back, I asked,
"You think so?..."
He took a deep breath as if trying to calm himself. After thinking for sometime, he replied,
"No... I don't believe that could be possible. Looking at Neulon's reaction, it's clear to me that you're the only one who know that I am going to be here,"
"I see, then—"
"But, that doesn't explain everything. There is a possibility that you may have manipulated Neulon here for something that could possibly harm me, at least, to some extent that is..."
"Do you think you're getting so full of yourself, 𝗦𝘂̄𝘁𝗮-𝗣𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮?" Before I could put my words, Red-Hairs mocked Curna.
𝘚𝘶̄𝘵𝘢-𝘗𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘢? 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳? 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘶𝘵...
Sūta often are often charioteers. And as for putra, well that's exactly what you call son.
As I turned back to see Curna, that he had stopped all the strong aura he was emitting, I saw pain in his eyes. He didn't show it on his faces but his eyes were telling everything.
With this I could assume that he might have some traumas for his low social standard in past.
As I was in middle of my analysis, Red-Hairs approached Curna, passing me by.
"You, I'll ask you this again. What are you doing here?" Red-Hairs asked.
"I could ask the same to you,"
"Huh. Don't you dare to rude me!" Red-Hairs put his hand on handle of his sword as he was infuriated on Curna.
Sensing this, Curna too changed his posture. Ready to defend, then attack.
𝘞𝘩𝘺...𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘰𝘵...
"OKAY. OKAY..." I get between both battle maniacs.
"How about we talk this through?"
"Talk what?!"Frustrated, Red-Hairs asked.
"You see, our main motive here is to figure out all the suspicious church is doing..."
I explained Red-Hairs all the important stuff. He started to settle down once I started to speed up explanation. There wasn't much time above all.
"All in all, everything we're here for was mere guess on my part but Curna's existence here made it all true."
"Soo... This guy there is going to do the job along side us?" Red-Hairs asked.
"Yess!"
"That means we're all going to work together?"
"Yep yep,"
"That means, I need to so companionship with this man?"
"Well, that'd necessary. Yes,"
"Then it means—"
"STOP!! Can't you understand human language?! Stop asking same thing again and again!" I yelled at Red-Hairs.
𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘢 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘕𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘴... 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨?!
Red-Hairs turned his back on me as if leaving,
"H-Hey, where you going?!"
"That's it. I am done."
"HUH?"
"I am not working this man out of everyone. Never."
"Now hold up for a sec,"
I gave a quick glance to Curna before chasing after Red-Hairs.
Curna already saw this coming as he stood at his place unaffected by any. More of it that he doesn't even seem to care at all about Red-Hairs.
"What is it? I told you that I am not going to participate if I have to join forces with someone like him."
"Hmph..."
On Red-Hairs monotones reply, Curna just simply looked away.
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭...
"Hold up. Look... I understand your feelings that you can't imagine yourself joining hands with someone of a lower caste but—,"
"𝗦𝘂̄𝘁𝗮..." He contexted.
"Whatever... So the thing is, we have all the way here, destroying one's sleep cycle completely. How about proceeding a bit further?"
"Now way! I am going back. It was all foolish of me to even listen to you in the first place,"
𝘊𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵,
"Wait, listen to me once," I drew closer to Red-Hairs and whispered,
"Aren't you curious why this man out of everyone is here?"
The moment I raised that point, Red-Hairs stiffened a bit.
𝘕𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘵!
"We came here to investigate and that's what we're going to do."
"But why with him?!"
"I urged him to join so that between our investigation there isn't much trouble. He was inevitably going to come here at the church. Whatever he do he one could never find out, isn't it? But, if we are all together, you can keep an eye on him." I tried to convince.
"I am getting your point... But then, why don't we just capture him then make him confess everything?"
"I told you this before, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵. Not to forget the fact that we can't take the chance of being spotted. If we were to force Curna, he will surely resist. You not think that you could prevent yourself from being spotted during an all out war..."
Red-Hairs took into account the words as we thought about consideration for a while.
He looked at Curna, as he starred back at him, before turing to me.
"I—?!"
"Well well... What have we here?" A voice behind Red-Hairs.
𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦...
A group of men approached us. Five in total. All in a get up of knights.
"If it isn't Commander Neulon himself, and Allan too." One of the man, who seem to be leading the group, spoke up as he gave quick glance to Curna.
Out straight, Curna was on his guard.
As for me, I never remember meeting any of them.
"Huh? You all, what are you doing go back to your duty." Red-Hairs took the charge as he ordered them.
"Forgiveness my lord... We heard some sound so we came to check just in case. It seems everything is fine since commander himself is here..." With a slight bow, they all turned to leave.
Red-Hairs, who seem to bit dubious, ordered again.
"Stop!"
He approached the knights as put a hand on one's shoulder,
"I don't think I ever saw any of you... Which sector you all belong to? Answer!"
"Hehe..."
"Carefull!" Curna called out.
"What the—?!!"
