Chapter 62 - Time To Act

"Why is it necessary for me to check him out?"

"What father said is correct Lucia,"

"It's unnecessary."

"You can't call this a sacrifice."

These words were all wandering in my mind.

"It is how it is, huh..." For hours now I again and again told this to myself but I couldn't get myself over the fact that 𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗦.

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦, 𝘩𝘶𝘩...

What happened today made me remember of a certain event that changed my life. My entire perspective towards the life.

𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘐 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘐 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦... 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘥𝘴.

𝘔𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴.

I—, That incident. Everything happened infront of me and all I did, was to stood in my position.

I was powerless—

𝘕𝘰! 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥. 𝘈𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨... 𝘈𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥.

I... will never let something like that happen ever again, and that's the promise I made to myself. A Vow to my beliefs.

I got of my bed as I wiped tears under my eyes.

"There is nothing in sitting idly and cry like an idiot," I explained to myself.

I opened the door slowly, it was pretty late. When satisfied that there was no one around, I made my way to Allan's room.

As I reached, I slowly opened the door so Allan don't be disturbed.

The view infront of me as I enter.

Allan, rest on bed. The moon light entering from open balcony caressed his lower body, slowly making it's way to his face.

I took a chair and placed it right beside the bed. Sitting right beside Allan, I just keep looking at his face.

"How can you sleep soundly after what happened this morning?" I asked him but of course there was no reply.

I extended my hand towards his face. As I was about to touch his cheek I felt something!

Allan's feet, almost his whole lower body was trembling. The fact that his upper body, the back, was wounded so bad and his legs to, I was shocked that his feet can show some movement.

"Is he... in pain?!"

But the real question is, why pain of wounds now? The wounds, now that treated, shouldn't hurt that bad. In fact, why is his body responding to pain all of a sudden? He was calm up until now. Not that he moved his body at all. Then Why?

𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦... 𝘈 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘦?! 𝘠𝘦𝘴. 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮.

Sudden reaction of body while dreaming is normal. If it's a nightmare, the chance significantly increases. Since Allan can't move his upper body, he is letting it through his lower body.

But his legs were injured too. There is a possibility that wounds might end up opening.

"What to do? What to do?"

𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯?... 𝘕𝘰, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦.

As I was busy figuring out what I could possibly do to help Allan, I saw fingers of his left hand moving slightly. But the tremble only increase.

𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘥. 𝘐𝘧 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯!

Don't know what to do, I reflexively reached out for his now trembling hand.

I took his hand in my both hands as I gently rubbed back how his hand with my palm.

"It's OK now! Calm down. Calm down. I know that you can hear me so Allan, just calm done a little."

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘶𝘵...

At least I could feel trembling lessen.

"Yes, just like that. Try to calm yourself."

Maybe it was working.

I kept rubbing palm of my hand against back of his hand,

"Don't worry, I'm here. If anything, feel free to ask me. I'll listen to you. So just calm down."

Slowly but surely all the suffering detoured as Allan finally calmed.

I could no longer feel any sort of movement but just his breathing.

Seeing this I sighed in relief,

"...Maybe I'll watch over him for a bit,"

It was then when I found myself amidst of nowhere, just void.

"Here I am again..." I sighed as I glanced around.

"If it's a dream, then there is no point of doing this. After all, I am very familiar to it now."

I declare to no one.

After few moments of silence, a voice finally replied.

"Is that so?"

It was the voice I had not heard for Yugs now but... I could never forgot that voice.

"How about this then,"

Suddenly, a landscape appeared in front of me from nothing.

It was a land full of flowers. Variety of Florals...

Though it was much bigger than the flower garden Lucia owned.

There I saw a child.

She was sitting under shade of a tree, playing with flowers, making crown of flowers.

They were beautiful.

She took one and wore it on her head. It wasn't flashy, or too colorful, or so eye-catching. Just a simple crown made of all white flowers.

It was really pretty on her.

From the distance, I saw two more children, one girl other boy, making their way to girl. Noticing them, she waved at them.

As they sat there, all three of them seem to have some good quality time though I couldn't hear their voice.

It was a heart warming scene.

I wouldn't lie but I too wanted to join them.

Eventually decided to not as I stood there and just watch them sending their time in joy.

"Even though, it's an illusion or just a dream, I still don't mind it at all."

Suddenly, as if sensing something, little girl who had white crown on her head, turned towards my direction.

She waved as if inviting me. I turned around just to make sure there wasn't someone else she was signalling at.

Apparently, there wasn't. On my delay, little girl moved her hand in a rough manner as inviting me even more strongly.

Even I couldn't help myself as a smile escaped me.

I walk towards the tree as little girl smiled as she saw me approaching.

Other two doesn't seem to notice anything which was a pretty suspicious. Putting that aside, I made my way to girl... that's when I sensed a sudden heat.

I looked around as I noticed a red ball in sky.

𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵... 𝘚𝘶𝘯? 𝘕𝘰! 𝘚𝘶𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦! 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯...

The size of red ball was increasing in a major scale. It wasn't a Sun but an attacked aimed for the land!

I looked at the children but they were paying no mind to their surrounding.

Little girl right there just innocently smile at me whole time.

"Tch! I must protect them."

Prãna gathering in my hand, I launched a powerful attack at now-Gigantic Red Ball.

As soon as impact was made, speed of Red Ball decreased.

I glanced at little girl from corner of my eye. She was still at her place, starring at me with a confused look on her face.

"Run! Run for your life!" I yelled but little girl just tilted her head.

𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘯! 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘮𝘦.

All of the sudden, Energy of Red Ball increased as I started to get pushed back.

"HaaaaAHHH!!"

I put everything in my attack but... It was in vain!

The Red Ball was feeding on my energy as it keep getting closer and bigger.

"Darn it!"

I cancelled my attack as I pushed the ground and flied to Red Ball in full speed.

"Well then. I'll push it myself."

Concentrating all my energy in a single punch, I launched my most power blow towards oncoming attack.

I fist made it's way as at the moment of impact,

"What?!!"

I passed through whole Red Ball. Red Ball Passed Through Me!

𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵...

I looked behind as I saw little girl looking up at me, clueless.

Red Ball made it's way as I yelled, "RRUNNNN!!!"

To which little girl naively smiled back at me.

"... Her smile," It was the most beautiful thing I ever remember... Yet I failed again.

In absolute despair, I saw that attack consuming everything in front of it and vanish in nothingness when no left.

It was all dark again. Just Void...

Here I was again, proven all powerless again.

The flames of Anger started to build up inside me.

"HAAAaahhhhhHHHH!!!"

I erupted, whole void begin to shake violently.

𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴. 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴... 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘈𝘓𝘞𝘈𝘠𝘚 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴!!!

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵?! 𝘞𝘏𝘈𝘛 𝘐𝘚 𝘌𝘝𝘌𝘕 𝘗𝘖𝘐𝘕𝘛 𝘖𝘍 𝘏𝘈𝘝𝘐𝘕𝘎 𝘛𝘏𝘐𝘚 𝘚𝘛𝘙𝘌𝘕𝘎𝘛𝘏 𝘞𝘏𝘌𝘕 𝘐𝘛 𝘗𝘙𝘖𝘝𝘌𝘚 𝘜𝘚𝘌𝘓𝘌𝘚𝘚 𝘞𝘏𝘌𝘕 𝘔𝘖𝘚𝘛 𝘕𝘌𝘌𝘋𝘌𝘋?!!!

My anger blinded me I had no control over myself.

All I thought was to End every thing around me. End Everything in this entire Universe.

Though it was a dream, I could feel my physical body trembling. That's when I felt it... Warmth.

Warmth of other person, something I wasn't actually familiar with in my entire life much.

I started to feel it around my hand as it slowly covered my entire body.

Two arms from behind, embracing me. A gentle voice told me, "Calm down, Allan... It's okay, now. I am here for you."

So I started to gain control over my consciousness.

"So please, Calm Down—"

As I finally opened my eyes.

I sat down on the bed as my hand on my head, taking deep breaths to settle my intense breathing down.

I looked outside balcony as I sensed that it was 10:45 at night.

That's when I felt warmth around my hand.

I turned only to find Lucia, sitting on a chair, head on bed, sleeping like a baby.

She had her hands wrapped around mine.

With my other hand, I reached out for her. With a finger, I reached to touch her cheek but pulled back before making actual contact.

𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭?... 𝘕𝘰, 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘦...?

"This time, you actually saved me." I said. Of course she couldn't hear me, looking at how soundly she was asleep.

I carefully tried moved her hands with my right hand to free my other hands from her grip. In response, she held it even stronger than before.

"Mmhm..." Lucia made that noise.

"Seriously now," I sighed as I tried to free myself.

After wasting whole 5 minutes, I was finally able to free my hand from Lucia's gentle, firm yet soft and warm grip.

I got down of bed as I took a blanket from closet, making sure not to make any annoying noise that may possibly end up disturbing Princess' sleep. Then I covered Lucia with it as and act of a gentleman.

𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘥𝘰.

I made my way to balcony, observed the surrounding.

Put my hand in my pocket just to make sure, I pulled out a necklace and held it in front of me.

"You ready? The 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 show is about start."

With that, I put necklace back in my pocket and moved to balustrade of balcony, and

"Time to act,"

I jumped over it.
