Chapter 41 - Lunch

I was sitting with Lucia, having lunch but... It was, somewhat, uncomfortable...

"What is it? You are not going to eat?" Lucia passed a saint smile.

"Well, it would be much easier for me to eat if you quit staring me!"

Geez, she kept on staring me since I come with her.

It's uncomfortable to have a lunch when someone is staring at you, especially a girl...

"Oops, did I? Sorry, my bad?" She apologized but it doesn't seem to be one. Her expressions didn't changed at all.

"... Really?" I took a bite.

"You are in quite a good mood today,"

"Well cuz I am. I am glad that you going to stay with me from now on, fufufu." She giggled in the end.

"What...?" I said in monotone.

"N-No, it's nothing. It's just, that I am glad that you became my knight. I feel much secure now," Embarrassed, Lucia said those words while looking away with a wry smile.

Watching her act like this, I sighed.

I raise up from my seat. Watching me leave, Lucia hurriedly grabbed the corner of my jacket.

"Wa-Wait, W-Why are you leaving?! Are you going to leave me like this without having lunch with me?!"

"Nope,"

"Th-Then, didn't you like the food?"

"As you can see, I have finished my food and I am full," Lucia's food was untouched while I finished my lunch.

"Whaaat? You're finished already. C'mon, sit here and have some more. You will get weak if you don't eat properly."

Putting my trivial thoughts aside, I said,

"Didn't I just said, I am full..."

"Well then, how about we chat a bit,"

So now she want to talk? Just what in the world this kid thinking?

I sighed again.

Then I took my seat, again.

"What is it, what do you want to talk?" I said tiredly

"C'mon, don't say it like that, I just want to have some silly chat with you."

"Silly...chat?" I tilted my head as if didn't understand what she meant.

"Well, how about you tell me something about yourself?"

"And, what do you want to know...?"

"Umm, anything is fine with me."

"Hmm, let's see. Well I particularly don't have anything to talk about me,"

"Ok, let see... Then tell me, what kind of place were you born? What kind of environment it was that made you so strong? I really want to know that!" She asked curiously.

"Well, how can I say, it's not like I can explain it easily..." I put my hand on my chin and looked up in the sky.

𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘺...

"How about you tell me about yourself first, like how grown up?" I tried to dodge question.

"Well, since the time I was born, I was always treated like Royal, since I am one so, you can say that everything I wished for since my childhood was always in front of me. I didn't feel like that there is anything missing. I think I have enjoyed my life more than enough. For most of my life, my father gave me everything and anything I asked for, my brother always take care of me and protected me, and my mother, she always loved me... I don't think I needed anymore from this." She said with a calm smile.

"Well, it seems like that you lived quite a happy life."

"Yeah, not everyone born in noble family,"

"Yeah, as for me, I was born in a hell of a place. The environment around me was not suitable for a child."

"What kind of environment it was?! Was it a place where you have to struggle a lot?! Did you lived a harsh life! I am extremely sorry if I would have hurt you, please forget it! I'll never ask you about this anymore, so please forgive me." Her expression worried. She bowed quickly as she heard me.

I waved my hand, implying her to clam down.

"Well, it's not like that. It's just, I never liked that place."

I looked in the sky. Took a deep breath, then continued,

"There were not manu I hold any affection or deep feeling for, except few. I also thought of protecting the ones who were important to me but *sighed*... My mother died in an accident, I never liked my father, he was such a greedy man... And others who I knew when I was a kid, were all there to just use me. But now, it's different..."

"Different... how?" Lucia repeated in confusion as she asked back.

"Well you see, everyone I knew from that time are all dead. There is no responsibility on my shoulder. I don't have to struggle just because of those weakling anymore so now... I am free. Free to do whatever I want." I said with a smile.

Lucia was staring me as if she don't know what to say. Obviously, I just said such harsh words without any hesitation for the ones I once cared for.

"...Well, it must be really difficult..." She said in a low tone.

"Aren't you angry on me that I said such words without giving a second thought?"

She shook her head.

"No, I have not right to be. I don't even know about your past or anything, or the way you lived up until now. Neither do I know how you were like when you were a child... But, the way you present those words. I think I can understand how you would have felt. I think you have come over many things in your life maybe that's the reason why you are so strong... And why you can say those words without any regret."

Lucia is intelligent. She understand my hatred towards those who I knew back then, but she didn't blamed me for that.

She is right. No one has a right to judge one until they knew them very well. What if you blamed someone for hating someone else and then came to know afterwards that, that person treated the one harshly or cause him sufferings.

You will be ashamed if that happened, that's why, you should not judge one without knowing their true nature or without knowing anything about them.

"From how I have seen you until now, I don't think you're a kind of person that will hold any grudge against someone. And if you do, then there would be a way deep and big reason for that..."

"Sorry for troubling you to have lunch with me. I'll be in your care from now on so I'm looking forward to it. I will take my leave now, thank you for having lunch with me." With that, Lucia got up from her seat and left.

"... A kind person huh, heh" I sighed as I looked up at the sky.

Sun shining in the sky, spreading it's warmth all over the Celis.

'It was such a warm day and the weather was good. I was staring at sky as I closed my eyes, to feel the blooms.'

Lucia said to herself as she looked up at the sky.

"Weather sure is pleasant today..."
